  • Western Part of Xinjiang was within Sassanid Empires borders, around 450 A.D. and the inhabitants of these regions were referred to as "Cina-deva-gotra" (from Sanskrit). The name literally means "descendant of Han and the sun-god"
    The Tokharians (Yuezhi) and The Saka (Scythians) were the first group of People who settled Tarim-Basin. They were both indo-european people.
    We know of the language of the Saka via the kingdoms of Khotan and Tumxuk in what is now Xinjiang, China. The language and dialects are classified as a part of the Middle Iranian family of languages.Other languages in this group are Khwarezmian(Chorasmian), Sogdian and Bactrian. Originally, these languages would have all derived from the language of the Zoroastrian scriptures, the Avesta. According to Litvinsky and Vorobyova-Desyatovskaya, both the Saka dialects share features with modern Wakhi and Pashto. Many Prakrit terms were borrowed from Khotanese into the Tocharian languages. The Sakan language is also known as Khotanese. Khotanese itself is linguistically divided into old and new Khotanese. The Tochrians and the Khotanese Saka would eventually mix and become one group. This happend due to the successive invasions by Turko Monglo groups such as Xiongnu, Uyghur, Kyrgyz. These Tukic Nations absorbed and integrated much of the original Iranic people of Xinjiang.

    There are two major branches of ethnic Tajiki in China, one is Serikoj, another one is Waki, the Serikojs are the natives of Tashkurgan, while Wakis are the immigrants from Badakhshan in 18th century. They are all really patriot Chinese and pro Han, Tashkurgan locals even have a folk song called "Hansi mash wurod", means Hans are our brothers.

      I suspect this is a popular myth. Indeed Tojik may be from Tohika / Tohaka, an alternatively suffixed form of Tohara, i.e. the nation of Toharistan / Bactria. The same we see in Hindura(stani) vs. Old-Persian Hinduka

    • @perun3706
      @perun3706 7 років тому

      Tohaka/Tocharia was called Taxia/Ta-Xia,Daxia and it sounds similar to Dacia and Dhakka. One people, one name.

    • @rdtgr8
      @rdtgr8 7 років тому

      +Varken Mayrdos Yes, it seems so. But we must take into account that Avestan Daha-ka (Azhi Dahaka / Zahhak / Azhdaho) and Bactria's Toharians are not the same. Because Avesta observes the situation on 11th century BCE when Tohars were the nation of Tarim valley (Kashgaria / Xingjiang). And indeed there were conflicts between Aryans (including Bactria's population) and Dahi that time. But after that (in last centuries BC) Tohars/Kushans crossed Pamir Mountains, invaded Bactria and renamed ex-Bactria into Toharistan. So you see, Bactrian Toharians (i.e. citizens of Toharian/Kushan Kingdom of Bactria) are not the same as Avestan's Dahi. Only their ruling dynasty was actually from Dahistan/Kashgaria. But the population of Bactria's Toharistan were Iranian/Aryan, not Toharic.

    "中国的伊朗人" that means "Chinese Iranian people". or
    "中国的波斯人" that means "Chinese Persian people".
    The ancient Persian people in Central Asia made great contribution to the Chinese culture, and played some role in Chinese history, too.

    2. The second reason, the people from mountain regions from Tajikistan and Afghanistan made transition to Farsi very late. For example, even in 14-15 centuries the population in Tajikistan's mountains speak Eastern Iranian languages. The Tajik cities and valleys were important centers of Farsi ( Bukhara, Samarkand, Hujand, Balkh, Hirot etc) but in the mountains people were bilingual (Eastern Iranian + Farsi) or they knew just their own native Eastern Iranian. ***** You know that the Uyghur identity is a fabrication? The term "Uyghur" was not used to refer to any existing ethnic group in the 19th century, but to an ancient people. The People who are called Uyghur today are the "Sart" and "Taranchi" who were a mixture of Iranian, Turkic and some Arabic Peoples.

      Tajiks from Pamir Plateau are completely different ethnic group from People in Tajikstan. Pamiri Tajiks are called Plateau Tajiks or Mountainous Tajiks, while People in Tajikstan are called Plain Tajik.
      Pamiri Tajiks share the same ancestors with Persians/Iraninans, if my info. is correct, they arrived in China way before Persian Empire, (2000 ~ 3000 ago). Because Pamir Plateau was so isolated, Pamiri Tajiks are the purest Persians, and their culture is full of Zoroastrianism even though they believe in Shia Islam.
      Because of these, they are the NATIVE Aryan people of China. Anyway, they are Chinese in every aspect.

    Beautiful Tajiks. One of 56 Chinese ethnic groups. "E Pluribus Unum", the ROC and American founding fathers share the same political beliefs.
    Tajiks are offsprings of Prince Pirooz and his son Nasreh(all married to Chinese princesses) and his royal followers(Tajik means royal) after the Arabs vanquished Persia 651AD. Chinese save and protected them, recorded in Tang Dynasty history. "Live and let live", the peaceful ancient chine didn't bother them, so their culture beautifully preserved and further developed.

    Then They invaded Afghanistan and established the "Kushan Empire" Then under the name Kushan (which was just a Yuezhi clan name) they Invaded northern India. You can check the maps of Kushan empire. Also We had the Indo-Scythian Empire and The Indo-Parthian Empire in northern India.

    Yes Varshide is a nice name! You know Kashqar was originally Kazhgar in Persian language. It's composed from 2 words "Kazh" meaning silk cloth and "Gar" meaning crafter. So Kazhgar ment "Silk Crafter's city". Also Khotan was originally in middle Iranian "Hvatana" or "Gostana" where the first version is interpreted as "self ruling" or "Beautiful body" and the second version is said to mean "Bull Like" ( strong as a bull) which was also the name of Asoka's son.

      As much as I'll probably offend some Iranians reading this, the word "Iran" is actually a made up word. It has no historical reference and was created in 1937 by the then head-of-state of the country who changed its name from Pars to Iran.
      The real word is actualky Aryanam which the Greeks Helenized into Ariané. The Iranian govt used the hellenic term Ariané to concoct tge word Iran.
      However, it must be remembered that the word Aryanam is not exclusively used to reference present-dayIran but first used in Vedas and is used to reference the Indus Valley where a River runs from the Himalaya to the sea. The later Avesta also acquired this term. "Iran" however is not a historical nomer but in fact a modern word.

    Your comment is entirely wrong! Urdu does mean Army in Turkic but the name of the language is based on its Persian usage which means camp. This language belongs to Indo-Iranian group and is heavily influenced by both Persian and Sanskrit. The Arabic words used are mostly of their Persian style For example: In Arabic they say Shukran = Thank you, in Persian and Urdu they say Tashakor=Thank you, which is not used by Arabic people.

    China recognizes all 56 minority groups as citizens who are under Chinese protection. If you visit different minority groups you will notice how aggressively the control government promotes the preservation of their language and culture. They have special preveliges, free bilingual schools, exception from one child policy, special admission to Eastern top colleges, infrastructure and railroad to connect to other parts of the country for commerce and travel. Don’t be misled by biased news media. Go visit these places yourself or talk to returning travelers in you country. It is truth that free speech is limited as compared to the West but in other respects you don’t notice much restrictions in your daily life.

And Parsi) Iran's name repeated in Shahnameh 720 Irani and Iranians repeated in Shahnameh 350 times. in the same place in China that they (several years ago) found an army in standing position, several coins found that belongs to Iranian Empire of back Hakhamenid and Sassanid.
      Add this, if you study about Shinto Religion of Japan, that religion resembles to Mithra and Zoroastrianism and the name of Automobile (Mazda) is an Iranian name and it is carefully chosen by the inventor of Mazda Company.. Anything else??

      ethan intellekt yes you are right but in the beginning the Hui was only the designation for the Persians Muslims and some Arab who had emigrated to China later on all Muslims were called by that name. For example "Zheng He" the Great Admiral of China was the great-great-great-grandson of Sayyid Ajjal Shams al-Din Omar, a Persian who served in the administration of the Mongol Empire.

      mingheanghui Islamisation of Iranian Peoples was a process which took some 1000 years to complete. Mithradatesi It was called Persis (after Pars Province of Iran). The Greeks called the Iranians Persis ( I hope the spelling is correct) which was adopted by other countries until 1936 when it was called Iran because of the common ancestry of the Iranians and the Germans and to appease the Germans

    • @Mithradatesi
      @Mithradatesi  10 років тому +5

      No you are wrong! Iranians never and I repeat never called Iran by the name Pars! It Has always been called Iran. You can find this in all Iranian documents from Avesta to Qajar period! What happened in 1935 was the fact that Iranians asked the International community to call Iran by its proper name, as Iranians do!
      You can compare this with the Names of for example Beijing which was Peking in the past and we now corrected it to the way Chinese call It. Or Delhi was call Dehli. Or Kharkiev was called Kharkov etc,etc...By the way Peking and Dehli were based on the way Persians called those cities! :)
