Originally flown in VR but video recorded with TrackIR for views selection. This is is a bit dark both due to the cloudy conditions and the additional compression from youtube. I didn't want to lift the brightness up because that just makes it look too de-saturated and flat. So the cockpit in particular might be a bit hard to see.
Very nice action Phil gootta love the old jug,the sounds now in DCS are really good, the bestso far I reckon in all the WW2 sims IL2,Cliffs etc. I am so looking forward to flying the Mossie in DCS......it's gonna be a goodun !!
I agree, although the 17 is of historical significance, so is the 24... and in terms of appeal or “attractiveness” the B-24 is prettier in my opinion. P.S. the Marauder is way too commonly overlooked as well :(
Love to phil go up against GS. I think GS is not so good against ww11 fighters. I love GS but he flies the same game all the time, he needs a bit of variety.
Man that thing sounds guttural on start up. We were blind to that target till the very last second. I blame Burritos navigation, it’s to accurate! After 600 hours in the 109 I finally appear in one of your videos….in a Spit 😂
How's the new stick? Vkb gunfighter I think compared to the old warthog I believe (might be wrong about this). Im thinking of getting the gunfighter to replace my vkb fbm.
"Getting used to" is that because of the roller/cam gimble ? My vkb fbm was the first stick to use that setup I think, I was hoping they had refined the cross gimble clunkiness over the years.
@@philstyle well we often go it alone as we don't have the numbers. And I am thankful to get some fighter cover so the boys from JG53 don't shoot me down.
Are you not a fan of the P-47? Not a module I have yet. Happy with the Spit, 109 and 190 (though the Spit is always my "go to" aircraft on Normandy or Channel maps, even though the guns couldn't punch a hole in a paper bag)! Just biding my time till the Mossie is released, which I'm guessing is on your radar?
Apologies for my ignorance generating yet another set of questions... However, I'm curious what do you guys use (or most DCS & IL-2 players/pilots) use during "multi-player" campaigns for coms? Does DCS have an embedded comms program or do specific servers use specific programs? It seems from the outside looking in so to speak for comms to be effective, everyone would have to be (or need to be) rendering the same visuals without any delays at all...not even 1-2 seconds...Do delays occur which leads to issues if a player is in the UK and another in the same squadron is in the States. Curious if there are any lags or delays with rendering or audio because if had such would/could negatively impact coordinated flight... or does all sync together as well as it seems? If DCS doesn't have something built-in or embedded or do players utilize specific Discord Channels or whatever there called and or other programs which may be available...I've seen on DCS website Voice-Attack I believe it is called and a few other comms add-ons but I am curious what the standard is...I'm not certain my question even makes sense but I'll blame it on being an old guy who has never used any of the above...hence my inquiry). Thanks in advance for anyone's feedback. Appreciate all of the DCS and IL-2 content creators.

How is the performance in VR?
@@motoadveBackcountry182 pretty terrible
@@philstyle Thanks, this is why I have not touched DCS in over a year.
Realistic flak makes these movies so much better to watch. Great content.
I had to watch this video twice! It’s realistically chaotic! I hope the Jug videos keep coming!
LOL, "She's not a Spitfire..." No. No she is definitely not. Luv the Jug :)
Nice to see a video with Style. It will be great when ED adds smoke to the start up on these big radials. And in-lines, for that matter...

that JUG is such a beauty
Just loved the P47 paint scheme, it looks very aggressive.
I know everyone loves the P51 and B17, and I do too. But I’m more of a P47 and B24 kind of guy
I will need more seat time in the 47 to get used to it.
But I've loved every WW2 module so far.

@@philstyle A quick glance at the crystal ball reveals:
Phil: I need more stick time in the 47
Mossie entered the chat.
GS's new WW2 Channel Map server looks like getting some fresh blood into WW2 airframes, and that can only be a good thing.
Good. I'd love to see 4 or 5 busy WW2 servers!

Amazing, Phil. So great to see more of your work!! :D
I love hear that P47 landing... good sorte.
Enjoyed that. Nice job Phil.
3:13 Should have pushed the thing in the left footwell also :)
8:18 That's why I've got an ancient FFB stick still... :)
Despite owning Il-2 and most of the content for it, I'm sorely tempted to grab some of the warbirds stuff for DCS. Great video.
the JUG is a BEAST!!
Great content as always!
thanks!
Phil, thing pusher.
Never leave home without your Flak Magnet! 😁

Love the 47
It's growing on me too . ..
I love your 'key components' Phil. Made me laugh!
Had me in stitches as well, but I kinda was expecting "The 'Thing'" to come up there as well...

Les V1 volants ne sont pas encore ajoutés au DCS.
Nice!

Did this target yesterday. shot down three times by the flak.
If you flew alone I am not surprised.
These targetsre designed to be atacked by groups of 4 to 6 aircraft.

We use a programme called SRS. There is no noticeable lag.
SRS is explained here:

When will mosquito be released?
How you liking the gunsight Phil?
I don't really use it yet. So at this early stage I have no opinion.
