Hollywood-recorded video as if I was watching a movie in the cinema, everything was beautifully filmed from the very start, movement on the runway, take-off of the flight itself, attack and return, landing and shutdown of the plane, congratulations and all the praise
Fantastic! Watching this video was a great reminder of why I subscribed. So happy to have you back Phil. I'm hoping that you're going to be making more videos. I wish the VR didn't chop a portion of the screen off. I'm wondering if you can expand those clips to full screen in the post/edit process. It's probably a double edge sword. Expand and you lose quality. Leave as is and you lose part of the screen. It's still a treat to watch regardless.
not to beat a horse to death but I'm really missing your SOW server! I've recently been on IL2 and it's ok but nothing like flying at 8k with a bunch of B17's. Hoping DCS WW2 will improve enough over the coming years to be worthy of you and your teams time and dedication. I totally understand why it was put aside for the time being though!
Um... improve what? Theres literally nothing major that needs to improve anymore. The cooling update got added for almost all aircraft, fw 190 a8/d9 bugs got fixed, 2.8 is coming soon, normandy 2 is coming soon, etc. There are other great ww2 servers out there, including growling sidewinder's one. He's just really fucking petty, its why he didnt allow the mosquito in sow...
@@no.54reddog33 appreciate the support and the kind words! I do the missions and scripting and am always seeking feedback about the general experience as a whole. Messages about kills have been reduced to a minimum - and just a side note - I’m frequently adding/tuning features based off mission results and player feedback. So if you spend any amount of time on the server, I always want to know what you think of the experience.
Hey Phil! Nice to see you back and Thanks for flying on the server 🙏🏻 To elaborate briefly on the mission ending early (this is a new feature) - a team can force an early victory and push multiple frontlines if that team has a big enough lead. The mission you guys were flying on had some calculation errors in regards to allied bomber points - so allies were accumulating some extra points and pushing missions earlier than they should. (Have since been fixed) Early finishes shouldn’t be the norm and are used only when a team has a considerable lead. 😄
What's the protocol with setting engine RPM in the Spitfire and does it affect speed/efficiency? You guys seem to leave it at max RPM - I tend to drop it to around 2500-2650 for cruise (mainly so the whine is less annoying in cockpit) or 2850 for max climb but I'm not sure if that's doing anything useful or even reducing power?
1. we weren't cruising at any point in this video. We were going as quick as we could, bascially. low and fast, so we were pushing the engines about as much as we can, assuming the aircraft owuld not need to be flown again (unlike real life) 2. I am managing the engine mostly with manifodl pressure, which is pretty low a LOT of the time (0 to 4lbs). At fast airspeeds and low altitudes this is OK.
Not sure what headset you are using, but I've found for the Oculus Quest 2 an image stabilization setting (during recording) in Oculus Mirror in the settings menu useful.
Imagine if we could all use our own original Ideas. The options are almost limitless. For what its worth he was in a Spitfire. Denied? I was an ardent Mossie fan, it just was not ready.
Only VR now. It restricts my flying time though due to the neck and back pain. Also, the channel map runs like a total block of concrete in vr for me. ...
@@philstyle with the G2 (v2?) headset, if using OpenXR the latest version of XRNS (XR Necksafer beta 3b) is out today and it has added the pitch axis to it's menu so you can look around your 6 and 12:00 high without a lot of (any) neck strain.. If using OpenVR of course the original VRNS works the treat also..

Cool to see you guys on the NO.20 server. Fuzzy's been working his butt off building the server. NO.20_W_M_Thomson.
It's obvious the server admins have done a huge amount of work. Am interested to see how it develops!.

It’s a public server 👍🏻

I already have the stabilisation turned on using openXR. It is better than without it, but still not nearly as smooth as TiR
@@philstyle My bad. Should have showed more on the colophon when I made that comment. I see you have a Rev G2.🙄
And to think that when you were in charge of the Sow, you denied people the ability to fly the Mosquito. Look at you now!
What an asinine comment. This video has nothing to do with Storm of War so go troll some place else.
