You missed the 1-up at the start of the mall level. When the blue donuts appear before the wet concrete (right about where the break in the dark grey tiles is, run back to the the bouncing white marshmallows (note the floor theme is candy). A Krusty head will be flashing in the ceiling. You can bounce off of the middle marshmallow (big one jumping side to side) by holding A.
I used to play this so much, it's the kind of game that springs really difficult parts on you, but with practice you can generally tackle them without much difficulty.
Yeah I generally dont run into problems until the tar pit. It's one of those sections where if you arent carefully it can drain pretty much all the extra guys you've grinded for throughout the game.
The "8 Bit shuffle" is a programming trick where bits are pushed into a memory address by Bart's position when he lands on the can. The first 6 jumps are all the same repeatable position (LRLRLL), the last 2 digits which you can customize in binary will cause one of the 4 initials from the previous can to drop from the sky. You demonstrated one of them. I'm still investigating this can with Cheat Engine. The binary to hex conversion for these numbers is AC-AF. The A4 on a can being A Boy and His Blob makes me wonder if there's 11 more secret values to be found.
i was 9 years old when i played this game , i really dont know how i managed to finish the firts stage ,never tought it had so many secrets awesome video
Here is a follow up to the blobbert secret in the mall stage. I finally figured it out how to do it. ua-cam.com/video/y5xjs-p2iys/v-deo.htmlsi=2vMmy46bERh7Yvtn
The same company that made a boy and his blob also made Bart versus the space mutants, and this was just a left over Sprite in the ROM information I'm pretty sure. This happens a lot with games that are designed by the same company. The Addams family for the nes has left over graphics from bubble bobble 2.
The first floor theme was candy, the second floor theme was shoes, the third floor theme was magic so that "snot rag" was just a magician's handkerchief.
I just made it through (I think?) all of your Simpsons games... one favorite from my childhood I'd like to see you beat is Virtual Bart for Genesis. I loved the tomato/egg game, got so good I'd beat it by only doing sideways tosses lol :D
There's another life in the Mall, 1st floor. Go past the 3 marshmallows, and just as the first blue donut spawns turn left and go back to the marshmallows to see it. You need to bounce off the middle one to reach it.
When we got our NES in 1991, I got to pick a game beyond the pack-in. I was 7 and the Simpsons were still hot. We put the NES and this game on lay-away. I should have bought nearly anything else, as this was a horrible first game to own.
Lol I think a million other kids made the same mistake. Everyone had yellow fever in '91 and do the Bartman was climbing the charts! 90% of the kids never got past the first level.
when i played it in my childhood i did something in second level and about 20 hats were falling down from the ceiling. since that time i never managed to replicate my movements and this bonus and it's not in any bart vs space mutants deep dives videos. still wondering what that was. oh and in first level you forgot to paint "keep out" sign :)
I cannot get past the tar pits or whatever the fuck they are. Those fucking birds seem to know exactly where to fly where I makes it impossible. IM FUCKING 41!!! LMAO
The tar pits is the hardest part in the game. Sometimes you just gotta charge it but sometimes you have to take your time and even backtrack to avoid the birds, they will eventually fly up so if you have to jump on the previous dino skeleton then go that route.
@@brockhardentertainment I just started jumping back one now that I at least respawn there. I don't think I even made it this far when I was a kid. I have beaten bart v the world but not this one.
The check point is definatly a relief after having to keep getting respawned at the start of the astroids and make that jump over the river. Bart vs the World has some pretty hard platforming. I always skip the slide puzzles.
Over 20 years later and there are other secrets I was highly unaware of? Dude, thanks so much for the additional discovery.
Yeah no problem, check out the website "The cutting room floor". They dive into the Roms and find hidden stuff.
Thanks. Feeling nostalgic again.
I'm loving your channel, no idea what led me here but thankful for whatever that was!

Can you email me the edited hex file to make the blob show up?

@@brockhardentertainment this is so cool ,do you know the reason for blobber not to be included at first ?

@@brockhardentertainment thats awesome ,gonna look for your video of the addams family

those 16bit Simpsons games are tuff. Every couple months i get the urge to try and beat one but it usually goes badly. hopfully soon though!
When you mention Dunglasses and Aliens. Are you talking about They Live starring Roddy Piper?
Yes!!
@@brockhardentertainment great movie. Was actually part of Saints Row 4 as well. The movie that is...lol
I remember playing this on the Amiga! Awesome and frustrating memories
In the ZX Spectrum version you can do a high-super-jump over code doors and avoid them
That would have been convenient. It's annoying entering the codes.

Would love to see more retro game play throughs
I got about 100 of them on my channel.
New subscriber.. love your content.

how do i paint the keep out sign? I've tried but can never seem to figure it out.
@@brockhardentertainment my bad, just tried it and it's there only to trigger police guy in purple. i was pretty sure because of purple letters
For some reason, I literally cannot find Maggie ANYWHERE, on the Final Level
You missed the secret on the grass before the first shop.
Not having Burns as final boss was a deception
@@annwang5530 yeah when you put down the last carbon rod burns should have appeared and had an epic last battle, that would have been awesome!
