Can we have this as an update in the Sunday Keys stand-alone app for iPad? I was able to get it to toggle on and off but it doesn't respond when switching snapshots. It would be nice for the users of the standalone app to be able to have this visual feedback, especially when playing in little to no light and it's difficult to see the nanoKontrol buttons.
Thank you for such a useful information! Here is some additional tips: * When it comes to "Hardware Input Types" in 4:00, the value "Absolute" might cause problems for some assignment types such as "Tap Tempo". Instead, the value "Alternating Value" works perfectly for me * Make sure "Send Value to" pop-ups are set to the value "CTRL nanoKONTROL2". Otherwise the LEDs won't sync with MainStage
Quick Tip for Ableton: if you want to use the S-M-R buttons to play midi clip, you have to set the Button Behavior from toggle to momentary in Korg Kontrol Editor. Then in the Ableton midi preferences, select “Remote” in the "Output" section for the NanoKontrol 2.
Just an FYI 🤷♀️. My layout mode would not show anything in the Screen Control Inspector when I used Command + click on each button to change the Type on the Hardware Input. It would show when I hit the 1st button but when I hit the 2nd button the Screen Control Inspector would go blank. I had to do them individually. A little more tedious but it worked.
My buttons are lighting up when I change patches, but when I press the button to toggle a setting on or off on the Korg, it just stays in the same default lit (or unlit) position. Any idea how I might fix this? Great video!
I found it. I used Alternating Value instead of Absolute and that got the toggle function working correctly. I checked the previous video and that said Alternating Value, so I tried that and it worked in case anyone else is having problems.
I'm not sure if this video is 100% accurate anymore. I had to set my 'Type' to 'Single Value' ('Alternating Value' also works), and my 'Send Value To' to CTRL nanoKONTROL2, then it worked.
my Korg editor just shows "failed to open the midi port", I have already connected the kontrol2 to my macbook...... How can I fix it? Or do you have any idea on what just happened? Anyway interested in your video, I hope my kontrol2 can do it as well!
In my nanokontrol only the first section lights up. The other ones remain off no matter I do. This happened to me once I tried to map each section to a different channel (before that all the lights were lit) I then set everything to the same channel but nothing changed. It seems like the NanoKontrol is still with the previous template sent. I hard reseted and still has the same behavior. Any advice? Thank you very much!
Hi, I am struggling to get the visual nano control up on my screen. How do I? When I go into the smart controls there is nothing in the palette. I plug my nano control in and can see numbers changing in the midi window but I don't know how to get the visual up one my screen in the concert.
unfortunately the driver/editor needed to do this is not compatible on M1, and it doesn't seem like Korg has done much to update it since M1 was released.
I followed these instructions to a "T." This doesn't work. First the Screen Control Inspector shows up blank when you select multiple buttons. Second, and even after mapping each button separately, double and triple checking everything, the buttons on the nanoKontrol do not light up as advertised. Yes, I am in EDIT mode. Any ideas?
I'm sorry you've had trouble. Unfortunately with more recent versions of MainStage, you can no longer select multiple buttons. Some of this also depends on your OS version. If you'd like to reach out to us we can help you further sort that out: sundaysounds.com/contact
Is there a workaround for this to work with the latest version of Mac OS? Korg Kontrol Editor will not open. Just says "The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information. Also the USB Driver fails to install as well. Any ideas?
I did exactly step by step as you did and when I press for example the chord button on a pad it doesnt light up on the nanokontrol but it lights up on mainstage... any way to fix that?
I know it's months later and you probably figured it out but for anyone else, watch his screen closely...there's a dropdown that defaults to "live" mode on the "General" section in Korg's software and that needs to be in CC mode.
@@SundaySounds thank you so much for the reply if possible can you make a dedicated video on how to assign korg nanopad2 in mainstage for changing the patches so that many artists like me who mainly use workstations for live gigs can use mainstage without purchasing extra midi keyboard.
If you are doing this in Ableton Live, you can ignore the MainStage parts, but you will need to follow the same steps for the nanoKontrol 2 itself, then in the Ableton midi preferences, select “Remote” in the Out section for the NanoKontrol 2.
The Korg USB driver will not work anymore with new MacOS versions. The light still work well, but the state of the switch is not transferred properly, so that I sometimes have to push a button twice to react. Drives me crazy.
Hey, cool videos, thanks for that!!! May I just ask you, which audio intrface do you use, because i have seen in some video, i think it was about live mixer that you have around 6 inputs to choose. so I am curious to know because i want to use mainstage and i need 5 mic inputs... Thanks for answering. :)
If you need more than 2 inputs we would recommend something from Focusrite, they have a few options depending on how many inputs and what type input you need.
Too much to ask Korg to be able to select the colors of the lights of each button... I would also love to see the knobs and sliders light up as you move them.
Thank you. This is cool, but once I set up the lights, I can't turn a button off or on if I wanted to manually do so. It seem as though the lights are stuck on the original Sunday Keys setting and is unchangeable. Am I the only one who this is happening to? Can I manually turn a button on or off? If so, how? Thanks.
Actually, when I physically click on a button to turn on or off, its responding in MainStage, but the Nano light is not turning on or off. How do I fix this?
@@thisperson6146 You might try doing a factory reset and doing this again, you should be able to change the buttons and have it affect the template in real time.
