Personal Wish list for mods in 2025: 1. I want to be able to rehabilitate the Aurora and get her back into orbit, with fully functional communications array and new storyline where more pods are found and recovered with survivors. 2. Alternate storyline where everyone actually survived we just never ran into each other until close to end game. 3. Additional alternate storyline where the degassi survivors are still alive and we find them. 4. Subnautica Zoo mods for enclosures for the leviathans along with upgraded tech to capture them. Like using floaters or larger gravity traps. 5. Storyline mod where we've been on the planet long enough to mod the tech ourselves to blend functions. For example, flying drones that can scan the map and relay live intel back to the main scanner room which can then uplink to a satellite (only accessible after the planet defense system is deactivated) to forward that information to my hud (game stability issues anticipated for this one). I also want an ai companion that developes as the base ages and the computer becomes sentient. New storyline for that. Essentially I want a version of the story where we deside to stay on the planet and explore, doccument and research everything about the planet there is to know like we're a cross between Steve Irwin, Bear Grills and Indiana Jones or some ish like that. There's so much potential for this franchise (yes I'm calling it that, 3 has been announced already). Mostly, I want more to do without crashing the game.
Actually, you're in the majority, Thomas. I was over at Subnautica Modding Discord several weeks back and witnessed a conversation with users and modders and someone did the math with statistics and ratios and showed that nearly 70% of Subnauticars are still using Legacy, and mainly because the mods they prefer to use aren't being updated. I'm in that camp as well. All of the big DLC-like mods aren't getting ANY updates for 2.0, and with Subnautica 3 on the horizon, it's way too late. If you use the Performance mod and the Geyser mod in Legacy, you can pretty much get Legacy smoothed out enough to equal 2.0's performance.
