I liked the format of the video. It would be nice if you made some tests on specific subjects, like intervals, scales, chords, etc. About question three: i thought that was true because i thought about "Piccolo Flute". The statements should not leave room for interpretation, otherwise they could be true and false at the same time About question four: I'm not a fan of "tricky" questions, because they usually try to, well, trick the student, instead of testing his knowledge. About question seven: Minor and Harmonic Minor are different scales, as far as i know. I hope my comment will help you on future videos. If someone disagrees with me, feel free to comment. Let's discuss and help each other.
Hi. I’m glad you like the format. That’s great. Have a look on our UA-cam channel and you’ll find loads of subject specific videos. Thanks for drawing attention to the point of question three, namely that the answer is Piccolo rather than Flute - lots of people get this wrong. Thanks also for drawing out the point of question 7, namely melodic or harmonic minor. It all helps to clarify the point of the quiz.
Am indicates a chord of A minor. A repeat sign is a double bar line with two dots in front of it. Much more at www.mmcourses.co.uk including details of our online courses and of our exciting Maestros programme.
8/10 -- I had to guess on a few, but number 7 got me (when I heard "G# Minor" I assumed natural minor). This was fun! 1 T? -- 2 F -- 3 F -- 4 F -- 5 T -- 6 T -- 7 F -- 8 T? -- 9 T? -- 10 T
“THE G Sharp Minor Scale …” would imply the G# Natural Minor Scale, which has no double-sharps … Surely? 🧐🤔 It’s more specific than saying some piece is “in G# Minor”, which is more general and could include the harmonic variant. “THE” G# [Natural] Minor Scale has the same notes as THE B Major Scale, and therefore has no double-sharps. Otherwise, the answer is “undefined”, or “more information required” … since there’s no single (“THE”) G# Minor Scale … ?!
Music theory quiz, but the first question is about a composer, not *music theory* itself 😂 I understand that knowing composers is part of knowing your music, but I expected questions about music itself (terms, patterns, maybe even some math stuff), not people who are involved in it or knowing when they were born. Interesting twist... I wonder why you went for that decision?

Hi. Thanks for yours courses. They are very helpful for me. My question about flute. The piccolo is not regularly used in orchestral, why you give it as the highest member from woodwind. In ABRSM past papers, the same question gives the right answer that flute is the highest one.
The piccolo is regarded as a standard orchestral instrument so it is the highest member of the woodwind family. If you write piccolo in answer to that question in a theory exam it would be regarded as correct but they will accept flute. Thanks for your positive comments.
I think that question about G# minor was not precise enough. I guessed that you're talking about melodic or harmonic, but someone may think about natural minor which does not have double sharp.

Am. When you see the symbol it means that the passage in a song is to ne repeated?. True or false?

G# harmonic minor contains F double sharp, as does the ascending melodic minor.
10/10 though the 3 composer questions were guesswork
Congratulations!

As you say, it’s all part of the picture.
i want to ask?. may i ask
Ask away.
10/10 What do I win? Fame? Glory? Money?
Huge personal satisfaction!
@@MusicMattersGB Well, that'll do. I guessed the Finzi question as I'd never heard of him!

I got a 6/10. The G# minor question tricked me!
Well done
