Small creek channel catfishing is one of my favorite ways to fish. It's what i grew up doing before I even reached a two digit age lol. I need to do more of it. Been stuck on lakes and ponds mostly cause it's been such hot action recently. And I'm hours away from a good catfish river or creek. I need to quit making excuses and go walk the creek again. Great video Spencer. I love the flathead videos but this type of fishing hits home for me.
I agree sgt skinner that's how I started catfishing good old walk and wade defintely fun and fast action we have a bunch of little creeks here in central illinois that are perfect for it
@@codyrobison6817 that's awesome man. I used to live right down the road from a place called the bear river and I would walk up and down that from around 8 or 9 years old. By myself everyday. Kept doing that until I went into the army. Got to get back to my roots. And it is known for trophy channel cats. I caught my first 15 pound channel cat Out of it and have seen as big as 22 pounders come from it. But most channels I catch from there are 1 to 7 pounds. And those are a blast to catch, they fight hard. Happy fishing bro.
@@RiverCertified yes sir. You keep making them and I'll always keep watching them. I need to get re river certified. I'm on a veterans fly fishing trip in Idaho right now. i live on Indian Lake in Ohio which is the start of the Great Miami River. after the saugeyes and crappies are cats. the lake and river are loaded with them. i haven't seriously fished for them til now. i've been using raw shrimp and spanking the cats. mostly channels but a few flat heads on blue gills. they're not that big 14 is my biggest flat head and 8 is my biggest channel but a lot of fun on 8lb.test line. for me it's the hunt not the kill.
We caught eleven flats sat night. Smallest was eleven and biggest 33. All females. All on the shallow sets of six ft or less. Bullhead and one on a green sunfish. One more trip and freezer will be full. Sucks we can only use 9 inch bullhead. Will be hanging two pound carp starting in August. Another cool vid. Keep your powder dry young man 💪😎
