High Voltage - Hemi Alternator Overcharging Problem Fix by DIYHEMI

- Have a late model hemi swap or modern Mopar with an overcharging condition?? This could be your fix! A lot of people think it's the alternator but it could usually be a problem more in depth than that.
With many Hemi swap applications, the over charging/ high voltage problem can be due to not having the proper sensor for the inlet air temperature reading. This particular case, did not have that sensor and we needed to bypass it using HP Tuners and reprogramming the ECM PCM. We hope this helps you other guys! If you have some time, please help us out by checking out or website and store!
Thanks guys for watching
If you want to help support us more! Please check out what hemi parts we have available in our store! We are continuing to add products to our hemi swap product list. Our new QUICKHEMI harness is now in stock for a full plug and play standalone harness that plugs into the factory PCM/ECM and the existing engine harness. Yes our harness saves you a good bit of money because we still utilize the existing engine harness that will usually come with your junkyard swap hemi.

Bet no one else has a video on that issue. Nice work guys.
Thanks Jeff! We are trying to make Hemis easier 😎
Seems like you guys greatly improved your audio. Can't wait to see some new videos!
We have made changes to equipment. It should improve all around going forward. Thanks for watching us Royce!
Pretty cool fix.
Hey guys, great videos! Thank you for taking time to make them. Was wondering what year ECM you are using in the Belvedere?
2005
I have a Plymouth belvedere 2 1967. Who did the swap I want one.
Can an overcharging situation cause intermittent stalling? The only problem i see with my 2005 hemi. Is its about and 1/4 in over normal on high side of the Voltage guage. I believe it charging around 15v. It never used to be that high. Something is off. Any ideas? Could it be this.
The hellcat swap going to be nice in that 69 charger
Yep, we are excited about that one too
Where can I purchase this computer program?
I’ve acquired a 2006 Durango that I plan to use the complete drivetrain into a 1979 Jeep Cherokee. Is this a swap you’ve done or have seen done, looking for any helpful information.
We haven’t done a Cherokee yet, but may at some point. The swap should be pretty easy once you get the mounts and oil pan sorted out
@@SUBLIMEparts I have to do all the measurements, but if all checks out well I plan to put the body on the Durango chassis.
@@davidroberts3489 we also have an awd 2005 hemi Durango at the shop and we’re thinking of a body swap project! Keep us posted if you go through with it!
@@SUBLIMEparts I’ll do that, watching your videos helped me to decide and do this project.
Wait, so the the tune was asking for the high voltage? I have HP tuners also
Yes, it was asking for 15 volts
I looked at my settings at its 14.70 for cold weather. But it was cracking 15’s and high 16’s today. Dash and radio cut out for like a second while driving
@@Mopar300S bump it down to 13.5
My car just started this today. Smh. Battery is about 6 months old
The alternator puts out a constant voltage being generated off of the belt. I don't understand how they get the alternator to change the voltage that it generates. EDIT : wouldn't the company that put in those parameters be responsible for the boiled battery?
13.5? i thought 14.2-14.7 is the optimal charging volt
Where are you guys?
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
@@SUBLIMEparts 8 hours from me in tn.
You guys arent putting out much content anymore, what gives?
That is all about to change! Project low buck hemi truck is coming back!
Pretty cool fix.
Thanks Jonny! Let’s do this brother
@@SUBLIMEparts Yes sir. I’m in.
