3:41 the Storm winger was too busy complaining rather than trying to stop Inglis haha

Was wallys first ever try scored in 1988? He played for my team Wakefield Trinity in the '83-'84 season and I'm sure he scored for us, he must have scored tries in Australia before he came over, surely?

Doesn't make that clear and going back to late 70's isn't an age from 1988. A professional try is a professional try and Australian footy is Australian footy as far as I'm concerned, same challenge different named championship.

I'll try and explain it. Back in 1988 it was called the Winfield Cup and it was run under the NSWRL which at that time consisted of 14 clubs from NSW and 2 from Qld. Prior to 88 Wally had only played his club footy in the Qld comp which was seperate from the NSW comp which was the main comp at the time. It didn't become known as the NRL until the late 90s which included some other teams from Qld, Victoria and NZ

Wally went from Valleys under-18s, where his father Jim was the coach, straight into first grade and made his A Grade debut on Sunday April 9, 1978 against Norths at Neumann Oval. Wally lit up the opposition, backing up all over the park and scored 3 tries in a comprehensive 31 to 14 victory.
