Would you choose this or the RS660?
Tuono. Thinking about ordering but I want to see/ride it first.
@@kecabojan yeah always ride them first mate for sure!
I went with the RS660, total blind buy. I like to surprise myself.
@@musicjnky1982 haha you’re a badass! You won’t be disappointed
@@musicjnky1982 gg american mate
Great review really killing me having sun out today and the RS660 & Tuono 660 sat in the garage... Can't ride em until 1st March as new registrations
I saw you had them back to back. Really interested to hear your thoughts mate actually. I have to admit I was a little surprised to get the call to say I could go early. Didn’t complain though. Not often a little channel gets a scoop 😉😂
You really have a great way about you when doing these reviews. Its so open and honest. Great viewing David. Love it!
That’s a lovely comment. Glad you like it.
I agree
@@enricomarzotto thank you
I think I would chose the Tuono. It sounds amazing. Such a fabulous review mate way better than the ‘professionals’ 🙌
Thanks mate. Really appreciate that 😊
Thank you for such a great review, watching this over in the US where I'm waiting for my pre-order on the Tuono, I have been a little worried that I wanted this so bad, that I didn't look much at the rs660, then started seeing all the posts from different sites talking about what the Tuono 660 lacks that the rs660 has and it started to give me some minor doubts. This review has got me smiling that I went with my gut instincts and my overall love of the design of this magnificent looking and sounding machine! Saying a possible April delivery, got my fingers crossed!
You made a great choice! Don’t listen to the nonsense about IMU and suspension. Most people have no idea what an IMU even does! They’re just told it’s good by marketing people. The suspension on this and overall riding fun (which is the point right) is slightly better on this.
Best real world review on UA-cam by far buddy…..still not tried one yet….inbetween this and the new mt09sp for next spring👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks Mark. Appreciate that. It’s what I try to do..:just a normal bloke saying what it feels like. 🥰
@@mostlymotorbikes and that’s what us normal blokes are after buddy….real world not race tracks👍🏻👍🏻
Mate awesome video so far you’ve done amazing. Getting this scoop is huge!
Thanks Steven. Appreciate it mate :)
Great review. If Aprilia were to make a new Dorsoduro on this 660 platform I’d be very interested.
Thank you 🙏 now that would be interesting!
The tuareg 660 will arrive soon
Another banging review really looking forward to the rs 660 on a dry day keep up the good work again
Thanks Stuart. Appreciate the support 🙏
Nice work Mr!! Cracking bike and amazing review! First on UA-cam too 👏🏻👏🏻☺️
Thanks Holly. Yeah I got a scoop for once haha
Well done mate for getting the video out so quick 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Was a late night pal lol. Thanks. 🙏
Twins are the bomb on roads ( love my Superduke R ) Great review of an impressive bike that I think will be seriously impressive when the inevitable Factory version arrives, keep up the good work mate!
Thank you mate. Really appreciate that 🙏
Spot on review yet again. Just given me a dilemma now on which way to go. Spoke to them last week and test rides not available. Hopefully this will be lifted soon.
Mate it’s such a good bike. I am sure the rides will be available shortly.
Bought my tuono v4 factory from there 👍last August absolutely love it after hitting the big 5.....0 needed summat wi a bit more comfort 🤣might see ya on one a trackdays mate keep up the vids nice to here fellow Yorkshire man waffling on 🤣👍
😂😂😂 thanks mate. Appreciate the support 🙏
Well done with this one David, what a scoop to get first on it, that’s next level stuff and the bike looks great.
Cheers Michael. Great bunch at Via-Moto Sheffield :) Appreciate the continued support
@@mostlymotorbikes you’re right though, Aprilia just don’t seem to make a bad bike. I’m not a huge super naked fan tbh but I would seriously consider this bike.
@@mikeharrison72 for me a SN would only ever be if I could justify two bikes. I’ll always want a sports bike first. Might change my mind as I get older but for now I can just about hang lol
@@mostlymotorbikes aye, the older thing is catching me up as well 😄
Would love to see you take out the new factory version of this bike.
Me too mate. See what I can do
Bought my 19' tuono factory from ViaMoto. Gary was super helpful 👏 cracking video mate, looks like a corker of a bike!
Thanks pal. Appreciate it...
Great review.
It’s difficult to fake glee in a motorbike review.
Damn it, why does it have to be so expensive in Australia?
How much are they?
Well done! excellent review, many thanks.
Thanks Stuart. Much appreciated 🥰🙏
Top man brilliant review as always mate
Thanks really appreciate that 🙏🥰
Great review... I want one!!
Thanks mate. Appreciate the support 🙏
Nice review mate. Really love how the channel is coming along. Would you say this is worth getting over an mt09??
Thanks Kenny. Yes. Much more special than the Yam.
Cracking video David & it's confirmed - you really are a very jammy git! Pleased you got the business plan approved by senior management for your new Ducati too! 😉
Haha it was a stealth acquisition;) thanks mate 🙏
Good review, love the look of both bikes, I’d go tuono
Thanks Ian. I think I would too.
Great review David and I believe the first in the uk ?
Correct pal. Saw something in German but I can’t find another English speaking so I’m claiming worlds first cos I can’t understand the German one. Hahah
Great review, i think the Dorsoduro is going to get a new stable mate.
Thanks Alan. It really is an awesome road bike!!!
It’s feeling quicker because the gearing is set up for accelerating not top end. Should be punchier.
Good shout. I knew it wasn’t in my head I’m just not smart enough to work technical stuff out 😂
You now should take out the 660 tuono factory For a comparison
Good idea mate. Trying.
What a scoop - didnt even know this was close to sale!
I know! I got pretty lucky to be fair.
Excellent review. As most of my riding is comuting and urban, thinking of trading my BMW r1250GS in for a Triumph Street Triple but then saw this bike. I might try and test it this week before deciding. Any thoughts?
My opinion is you should absolutely consider it. I love a triumph but this has a bit of something extra.
@@mostlymotorbikes Great, thanks for your advice. I'll find a dealership in Paris. Ride safe
Great review, thanks
Thank you mate 🙏
Appreciate the review. I’m sold. Now to decide……Tuono or RS 🤔
Thanks mate. Go ride them both. For sure.
The grey tuono is very beautiful, but i prefer the rs
Name of the song?
Bike I’ll take one in silver with quickshifter please thank you 🙂
Songs just some random copyright free one mate. Not sure of name.
Annoyed they didn't give the Tuono the same tech as the RS660... Maybe next year they will rectify this.
Mate. You would never know under 99% of riding. To need cornering abs you would have to be riding like a complete cabbage. The bike is a massive riot to ride and feels really special. People get so hung up on specs that were not even a thing 5 years ago.
@@mostlymotorbikes I hear what your saying bro & its all true. I just don't know why they did that...
I mean 500 quid you get an 6 Axis IMU with all the electronics benefits, quickshifter, better front suspension, debatably 5hp more.
GIVE ME THE OPTION And I would pay Aprilia the extra cash for those goodies ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Makes me want to buy the RS660 and convert it to a Tuono lol
@@Dius765RS yeah I don’t disagree as such. Just ride them first. To me, the suspension felt better on the Tuono. As did the power. I wonder how many people would even know if you didn’t tell them...
@@mostlymotorbikes They all do it mate look at KTM they lock all their toys behind software that we have to pay £700 to have unlocked. Their bikes come with everything standard you just cant use it until you cough up. Annoys the fuk outa me...
Triumph do the same, if I want cruise control I need a 1000cc model...
Aprilia have made something rather special with these 660 variants LOADED with tech normally reserved for bigger bikes. I will ride both an see whats up... The Tuono is still best bike in its class. Trident can't compete with that tech package.
@@Dius765RS agree mate. Let me know how you get on 🙏
It's not a v twin mate... parallel. Why no quickshifter?
Yes so I am told. Tbh I have no clue what the difference is i just ride them. QS is an optional extra buddy.
@@mostlymotorbikes keep up the good work fella. just realized it's supposedly full lockdown. How'd you manage to get a test ride!
Its a promotional review (work purposes - not pleasure). Thus allowed.
@@mostlymotorbikes hahahaha
Essential work.
Love it! Can't wait to see the v4s on the road. Enjoy.
@@benwoodward449 thanks mate. Soon as they lane I’ll get them reviewed 😈
This or the honda cb650r guys help me out
I’ll be riding the 650r soon mate
@@mostlymotorbikes nice! I'm chosing between Tuono 660 and CBR650R. Looking forward to know your thoughts on that.
Would you take this or pay the extra for the Monster?
This all day
Out of interest what Ducati have you ordered, if you could, would you swap it for this Aprilia 660 ?
ua-cam.com/video/aEB9KynKZfM/v-deo.html I wouldn’t swap but I might buy both
25 mins in nice Giulia :)
Love a Giulia!
How's the wind blast in comparison to the Tuono V4?
Didn’t really notice much difference mate tbh
Compared to RS 660:
- no Quickshifter as standard
- no IMU / corner ABS and lights
- worse forks with less adjustments and less travel
- less horse power
- less fairing
Basically only advantage is the slightly more raised handle bars and a few hundred bucks cheaper?
You’re just reading a spec sheet mate with all due respect. QS is option, select it. Unless you’re at 95-100% limit you would never know whether there was an IMU or not. 99% of people who buy that bike won’t even know what that means. Suspension ‘feels’ better. It’s geared different so ‘feels’ faster. Some people prefer less fairing. You get my point? I think they are both awesome bikes but you should buy a bike because you like riding it an fit makes you ‘feel’ good. Not what a spec sheet tells you! In my opinion, the Tuono feels slightly more fun. There isn’t much in it though to be fair. Just buy what you prefer to ride.
@@mostlymotorbikes Not saying one bike is better than the other. Have not ridden either and even when I do, whatever I prefer is just that - MY preference.
As much as reviews by others help calibrate your expectation from a bike, it's only once YOU ride it, can you judge if it gels with you or not, like this once seems to have with you in comparison to the RS.
IMHO, spec sheets do matter. It's against that that people measure the potential return on their hard earned $$ and spec sheets go far in setting expectations from a bike, or from anything for that matter. Having said that, your point taken.
Mine is simply that removing two key features (QS adds to the experience and I won't go into the merits of IMU, especially for a relatively inexperienced rider) and putting technically an inferior set of front forks and then reducing the total power output, on paper, makes little sense as the price difference between the Tuono and RS is so small. By the way, I ordered the Tuono weeks ago, with a hefty deposit. Will now ride both bikes before deciding. Thanks for the video and your reply!
@@jackalster77 you’re welcome mate. I take your points too. I’ve just ridden a lot of bikes lately and the surprising ones were often the ones inferior on paper.
Great review, not a fan of the looks though. It’s like a kids bike. Hopefully better in the flesh
Much better in the flesh. I thought same as you but ended up really liking it.
🔥🔥🔥
💪🏻👍🏻🥰
🔥
Too right mate :)
first review well done. Would you tour on it ???
Yeah why not. Sat on the motorway lovely.
How short are the gears?
To be honest all I noticed was it felt a little more ‘fun’ through the gears. If you watch the video though you will see I sat on the motorways at 70/80 just chugging along. Really great gearing IMO.
I thought we were all in lockdown and not allowed out on for unessential travel until march 29
You’re extremely correct sir. Please stick to the rules. However, if like me, your company is a social media based motorcycle company and you absolutely have to travel to make promotional content then do like I did and stay safe, wear a mask and social distance.
🐑 bah.
What a little beauty.😁😁
Thanks pal 🙏
Tuono 660. has a lower gearing🤙🔥
Yeah so I found out. Makes it feel more fun.
V twin or parallel twin????
Could be powered by a wankel as far as I know mate. Feels amazing though. What would the difference be?
@@mostlymotorbikes to be fair they developed the engine to feel and sound like a twin. But it's definitely a parallel twin where both pistons are next to each other. In a V twin they point away from each other in a V shape. Both this and the RS660 reviews are great. The Tuono may be my next purchase!
@@matthewsamuel2679 mate it’s an amazing engine either way. Feels so beefy for a ‘middleweight’
Its not a v twin
Well spotted
How tall are you please pal?
6ft or 183cm
It’s a parallel twin
A minor detail 😉
Are you "in" the bike (Monster) or "on" the bike (KTM Duke}? Thanks!
In it mate. It’s lovely and comfy
Try the 890R KTM
Good shout mate. On it.
Turnover all day. Ps. It’s not a v-twin
V-twin, parallel twin. No one really knows the difference 😂
@4:29 “This V-twin engine is phenomenal”. Really? V-twin you say... 😂 (Makes you sound like you don’t know what your talking about...)
Edit: Again @14:42. It’s not a V-twin. When the cylinders are next to each other, it’s called a parallel twin. 😂
I dont know what I am talking about. Could be powered by a washing machine for all i know. Thats the point of the channel! Its just my opinion and not that of a professional. I just ride the things and tell people if I like them or not.
Firts!! Woop lol
Hahaha me too :)
