I always wanted a motorcycle i have one but it's 150cc i want 600 cc but i don't have money ..so sad..😢😢
Im from Philippines
Did the brakes ever settle out? Just purchased this bike and the brakes are making a lot of noise!
But is it better then the daytona 675r or 765 moto 2??
Who else wants to see yam ride a gold wing
Next expert giveaway bike
My dad rose gold wings for years.!! Up and down the east coast
A 2022
That's a great idea
As you wish, so shall it be!
I love my RS660. Got rid of my 1990 CBR1000 back in the early 2000's. I jumped on my RS and after 10 minutes, it was like I never stopped riding. My bike is currently in the shop for the engine swap. Thank you to Aprilia for taking care of that. The warranty will also be reset. I have the rear brake noise as well. They are going to look at that.. No engine lights though.
Any update on those brakes?
@@ianc7713 My dealership was able to fix the squeak with help from another dealership. Something about rotating the banjo bolt 10 degrees, but the squeak came back after 400 miles. Next time it's in the shop, I'll have them try again. Overall, I still love the bike, with no regrets. I'm trying to hit 2,000 miles before riding season ends for me in central PA, but the cold weather is closing in fast.
For reference: My old ZRX1100 with 5 gears was over 520 pounds and had 100 HP. This Aprilia has got to be an absolute rocket!!
I'm happy with mine. I commute during the week and go canyon carving on the weekends. Words cannot describe how much fun this motorcycle really is.
nice and reliable? any issues?
Any issues?
@@yungschlaama3323 no issues at all.
@@jeromelloydsr4491 no issues at all to this day. Bought it March of 2021.
@@musicjnky1982 looking to get it for my second bike.
Gorgeous looking bike and packs a punch. Early builds of any new bike are going to have issues. The conrod issue affected 700 bikes - so while not great, the fact Aprilia were willing and able to dig down and identify these bikes says a lot about their commitment to quality now which maybe wasn't quite there in the past. The later bikes, haven't heard anything negative on them. Menu system - well, Italy so that kinda covers that off LOL. Competitors? maybe Ducati Supersport, similar power, ergos etc? Bit pricier, but still...
I got to test ride this beauty today. I have to say this bike is everything Yammie says it is and more. WOW!!!
88hp and 48-49 of torque (dyno specs) perfect imo! Just needs an exhaust, Carbon Smith Velocity Stacks, sprint air filter and full race map! But I prefer the tuono because of ergos for commuting👌🏾
Dude i work with had a rod break, aprilia replaced the engine under warrenty... it sucks but they made it right and he loves the bike. It looks great
I have been researching this and the CBR650r for my next bike (like within the next 6 months)!!! Your video has def boosted my urge to get on the Aprilia! Thanks for this video!!!!!
Did you end up getting the Aprilia I feel like the Aprilia is better short term but the Honda long term we’ll be easier to own
Aprilia 660 owner here. I love my bike. It is very comfortable in town and on highway. Fast enough for my taste. The electronics work! Shit matters. The Electronics package on this bike is superb. Love the bike go buy one.
Did you experience brake noise?
Any issues?
Just as a FYI. I now have 2500 miles on mine with no problems what so ever. Checked my vin and mine is not affected by recall. The moto is a fantastic street ride. It glides on the highway at 80 mph with no buffeting. The roads where I live are the worst in North America ( Montreal, Quebec ) so the suspension works amazing at soaking up the giant craters. Have been on a couple of rides of three hours and I must say the seat is the most comfortable I have ever had, no butt rot. The cockpit is roomy and with cruise control on you can sit back and relax. However when you want to push her around she just says " Let's GO! ". So it does have a great dual character. Hope this helps.
Great lads!!👍🏻 I'm sure most of us here would love to see a back to back, road and track review on this sexy little number and Yamaha's gorgeous little R7. My money would be on the Aprilia, but the Yammi is a sweet little machine
Working reliably, and working flawlessly are two different things. Case in point, with an engine light flashing and the rear brake making noise like that the bike does still work reliably, it does not however, work flawlessly.
Exactly, I don't want to be dealing with issues on a motorcycle until it hits past 10k miles
Well this video has answered many questions. Sick looking bike but I don’t want to have to bring to the shop frequently
An absolute rocket and plus a beauty. The RS660 is something supreme indeed. Love it to bits. ❤
Really enjoy your videos on the RS660. As a RS660 owner it gives me a chance to see one and one that actually runs. Mine last ran 5/29. It has been in the shop since 6/11. Found out 7/22 that there is metal in the air box and throttle body. You would think that it's part of the piston from what you would think would be a rod failure. Mine is not in the VIN range for the engine recall either, very low 300's. God help me but I still do love the bike, can't wait to get it back.
everything good?
@@odrs Picked the bike up 8/15. Aprilia took care of everything. Dropped a valve on cylinder #2.
Wow! Love that bawling twin sound from that Arrow exhaust
Just changed the front and rear pads on my Suzuki SV650S 2003. First time brake pad DIY. After cleaning out the brake dust, cleaning crud off and lubing the slider bolts on the floating calipers (as well as lubing pistons) all squeaking disappeared and progressive braking feel returned to the lever/pedal. Noticed some pitting on the slider bolt which most probably meant there was some binding of the floating caliper mechanism and hence squeaking?
My versys rear brake has started squealing a lot ever since rain riding. Im told i need to clean the discs/calipers and put some nice brake lube on the back of the pads. Doing that this weekend actually!
What would you choose between a (slightly used) Daytona and a (brand new) RS660, at the same price point?
Looking into this bike but curious how the ride is for a passenger? My wife wants to be able to jump on the back and I've yet to see any reviews about the rear seat, comfort, etc. Thanks!
Just bought a 22' acid gold rs660. Oh. My. God. Love it
that rev to flyby @ 1:98 transition was dope :-)
I love how this sportsbike as standard has pipsqueak sound in low rpm, When you ride in city basically. But has god sound in high rpm. Bcs no noise reg in track apparently
Do an r7 review next I think we all want to see that!
Rs660 is better, there you go.
R7 gonna eat the market of RS660 for sure, remember it’s JAPANESE technology 😎😂💁🏾♂️
@@corruptedking6624 remember it has nearly 30 hp less, and thats a lot in this class of bikes.
@@germanwoodworker2621 But then it's cheaper than that and good for street riders and not bad for track day but then it's a personal choice.
@@germanwoodworker2621 it's really cheap tho
wow, that’s kinda nice, *dad* I might get it as my first bike :)
Yammie do a video on how to choose a helmet and other accessories.
From years riding mountain bikes: that squeak in the break is most definitely from someone getting either brake fluid or oil on the rotors. There’s a few ways to get it off the rotor but you probably have to swap the pads to get rid of it
I like my MT09 I won, basic, to the point, and fun. Named her Mara Jade in honor of Yammiechan. Now that I adjusted the suspension inc. 5mm up on the forks, and have matching tires nothing but fun ahead! Thanks guys!
If I get this bike, it would be my daily or a weekend warrior but definitely not a track bike... it's too expensive for a track bike yo.
About normal price for a newer "track" bike unless your talking about buying a older year bike to do track thats $3-$6k
what? it’s near perfect for a track. it’s already all over the twin cup.
Me reading this while setting a ducati 899 to track 👁👄👁
Expensive!? No… bmw is expensive. Talk about 20k a sports bike
Owned one for almost a year. Fantastic bike. 2000mi no issues. 50/50 daily and track.
Edit: I too had the rear brake qoose honks, remedied by disking the pads and impregnation with break in fluid. Never returned.
I have the same brake noise! Did you give it time to see if it would settle out?
I just bought a 2022 RS 660 and have the infamous rear brake squeak. So, uh, how do I fix it?
Hi there. .watching your video here. I just bought a 2024 version of this bike. .still learning the ins and outs of it. Question is . .do you have a video showing how to install the rear seat bag on this bike? On my previous sport bike [cbr500r] I could put a rear seat bag and cargo net on the rear seat. . .I don't see how it would work on this bike yet. Please help us out?
Love the bike. But I am here mainly for the music. Thanks!
Lloyd Noobs next bike giveaway......49cc pedal bike add on. "This is the best thing you can learn on". A sail powered bike would really be the best route to learn all the skills needed.
Does anyone know if it would be possible to make the riding position more aggressive
Hey Guys, I need a bike suggestion. I am 5’ 5” and looking to buy good looking proper sports bike ( with farings, I don’t like naked bikes, but considering triumph street and speed triples) . So what is the most ergonomically comfortable sports bike? Above 600 cc up to 1200 cc?
Has been 4 months and still no merch ? Hope all is going correctly. Shipping yet? Are entries still valid ?
Front forks are Kayaba I believe - the same supplier also equips the new Ducati Monster.
I know this is an older video, but does anyone know what kind of exhaust they put on this exactly?
I have a Honda cbr650f as my first bike and I’m already looking for my next bike. Should I get r6,r7, or the aprilia
I’m not a beginner but I have never rode a sports bike only 300 cc nakeds, is this too much bike for trying to get into track days?
A tune will probably change how much the second throttle valve/plate or what ever it is that holds back till 7500 rpm is set
If I buy the rs 660 as A2 will I lose power when I remove the limiter? Thanks!
I got my RS660 and its absolutely wonderfull!!
Nice!! What brake lever guard is that?
If I bought one of these in about a year, and maintained it religiously, as well as ride it often, would it be reliable?
I think the Ducati SuperSport is it’s closest competitor but still agree with the others
I’m sure it’s a fine bike, all that tech is like the antithesis of what I love in a bike. How are the maintenance intervals on it?
I see you riding lime creek yammie! If you see an r3 dragging knee das me 😂
Hey guys you surely can't ignore the fact, over 700 'so far have had to be recalled in Europe, danger of catastrophic engine failure
Why always comparing it with the Tuono and not the RSV4 (seat height, handlebars, etc)?
im seeing this video in 2022 and i might have the answer to the spike in power at 7k rpm. it probably has to do with the way the intake and exhaust system is designed. The intake and exhaust systems are designed together to target a specific rpm with max power output. Evidence of the fact is when u put in the after market exhaust system it affected the spike. hope this makes sense to whomever it concerns.
Got the tuono 660 as my first bike with the optioned quick shifter and imu. Hope will be reliable
Would you recommend it as a first motorcycle?
Anyone have any advice for someone who come from a long history of motocross buying this as a first road bike (prolly gonna buy one eventually anyways but just wanted to know what people think)
I owned an 07 Aprilia and luckily had no problems lol
I've done 1,100 miles on mine and when I got a dealership to check the bike the error code was coming up as an engine misfire. In reality, it was just sensors set up too "finely" on the software, so they factory reset it and loaded a new bunch of settings, and it's been absolutely fine for the last 400 miles - and I've hooned the hell out of it.
Can’t wait for your Rs457 review
Need Aprilia rs660 vs Yamaha r7 comparison, the way you do..
Great content guys! But the background music is a little distracting. No music would be better..
What do these guys mean when they say this is not a beginner bike? Does that mean dont buy this as a first bike? or can someone who has been riding around on for eg a 125 for a few years be able to step us to this bike? There is differnt levels in my opinion to what a beginner is.. is a beginner considered a learner? I know after a few years you are still learning obviously but if the R6 or CBR 600 rr etc are too quick for a beginner (myself a couple of years) what are the options...? Surly this bike was designed to offer an entry into the sport bike world...
If I don't win this bike, then I will have to buy it. It's perfection, IMO
dealer sais 2024 rs660 is 14049 OTD sound like a good price?
i have a CBR650r and would love a RS660, however i use my Honda every day and have covered 14,000 miles without one mechanical issue. I just feel that you should consider long term real world use when evaluating and say that the RS660 altho its set up for everyday use couldnt endure every day use - or could it.
So you’re saying it’s dad-mode capable?
Yeah am keep watching Yammie........✌️
I really want a Hyosung GT250R can any one tell me if it’s a good beginner bike or nah
Why no comparison of bikes at the price point? I feel like the RS660 should be "the best" parallel bike for the money, it's 3k more than its competition in the class. I agree, however, after seeing this bike in the flesh it is so pretty to look at. I wasn't sure on the mustard colour at first but it really is lovely in person. I just would not pay that much for it when its so close to the likes of a Tirumph Street Triple. Here in UK you can get a 2021 ST RS for 10900 and the RS660 is about 10200. I know which i would pick because I bought a ST RS.
It would have been nice to see the bike during the video. The tank looks nice though
the oil leaks were a problem too.
My rear brake on my RS660 is squeaking like crazy, the dealer wants to change the rear disc brake rotor, how did you fix your issue? Other than that the bike is running like a gem, just had it's 1st servicing no other issues other than the squeaking rear brake, love the bike it's amazing !!!
Mine are making a hell a lot of noise! Did you happen to get yours fixed?
Goodness me, that TFT takes forever to boot up. 7:57
Ah my rear break pads do that exact noise too! Please let me know what you guys do to fix it if you do. I have taken it to the dealership multiple times but it always keeps coming back :(
Mine as well
What's with the pink zip tie on the right fork?
will prolly be my second bike like 7-8 years from now
that sound it makes is glorious!!!🤤
Where do you find track time? How?
I’d love to see a inline 4 version of this bike not quite the RSV4 but another bike to run in the line of the CBR600RR, R6 ect ALSO see KTM make a mid class street bike not the 390 then RC8. Such a huge gap
what arrow exhaust is that? sounds awesome
Hi great video do you think the extra rev at7k rpm could be smoothed out with a ECU flash???
I’m coming from a ninja 650 is this a good next bike??
3:19 did they drop it? lol bottom fairing is scraped
I started on a 90s 600 katana for 2 years or so. Took 10 years off. Then got a 2020 900 can am rally. This bike got me back into bikes, but I miss leaning and splitting. Been looking into 2 wheels and treating myself as a beginner. Considering a 400, a n650, sv 650, R7 and a a660. Your video about the 660 said definitely not for beginners. I've road before, the katana, and a 1k cruiser Suzuki. But I'd say I "road" them and did no research out of. 3.uears experience I'd say I have 6-12 months actual experience. And that was 10+ years ago. Now I have a reverse trike that's basically a car. I'm okay with throttle feel on anything 650ish and below, but a bit worried about the fact y'all said not for beginners. IYO should I stick to 650 or below or will I be okay? The can am I ride like a jackass full throttle everywhere. Not that that matters, but it might with the 660?
Someone commented and I seen my old comment 😂, only thing I could find was a 500r, had it a year now with 17k miles and love it.
the rear brake is character, as well as the check engine light, and if they blow up is also character, it is just the bike being like a human, sometimes they get sick ya know ? /s
if you look at the riding ergo‘s and the specs, this bike looks like a modern day F4i
keep watching yammie noob keep watching yammie noob KEEP WATCHING YAMMIE NOOB
The Versys was the biggest "game changers" ever!!
Finally! The"FULL and COMPLETE Review of 2021 Aprilia RS660". I saw the FULL and INCOMPLETE Review, but it left me wanting. And don't get me started on the COMPLETE and EMPTY review. That left me in a state of despair. Now I look forward to the BLOATED EXCESSIVE review of the 2021 Aprilia RS660.
?
Big recall on this bike! Bad crankshaft
How does this compare to a Ducati panigale v2?
Yamee whammy. Do those tattoos make you faster?
The brake squeak sounds like my 1996 bicycle.
It's funny he mentions that the riding position reminds him of his VFR. I'm assuming VFR800. Yes, that bike has a lean forward but it is all day comfy. I'm 6'2". I loved my 2006 VFR.
If you look at the price. It's at VFR800 pricing. But look what you get for that price with the Aprilia! I mean, HOLY SHIT!
If this was a modern day VFR800, Honda would be charging $15k for this bike, and it would fit in the showroom floor as they always do.
This is what the VFR800 should have evolved into. 100hp. Definitely worth the sticker price.
When you say it's not a beginner bike, do you mean beginners who have never really ridden a bike? Or people who have some experience but not on high cc bikes?
I'm pretty sure the Honda CBR650R has traction control, as well as an optional quick shifter, so I don't think it's necessarily fair to say it has no technology whatsoever.
Traction control, ABS (now standard), and optional quick shifter. I own and love the CBR650R, and I know it's subjective, but I prefer the singing of an inline 4 to a twin, any day.
@@ivecentral ive ridden the cbr and i liked it, but i still ordered an rs660. Just depends on the taste, the cbr definetly isnt like "bad" or has no technology.
@Lorin Sanchez its not only the elctronics, they 1.5k more money are definetly worth it imo, it looks way more modern and it has stuff like adjustable suspension, brembo brakes, electronic throttle etc. If it would cost like 5k more i'd agree with you.
@Lorin Sanchez well, i would know where brembo brakes "get in the way". And thats only one example. But thats only my opinion ;)
My first bike was an aprilia tuono. I had so many issues with it that needed fixing. I had 2 years warranty, then third year came and I sold it. Would never have an aprilia again. Would have spent more money fixing it than riding it.
How tall is dude with long hair in cm? I m 1.92 so i think these is small bike for me..
You can't tell if it's reliable now, you have to wait until it has a few thousand miles on the odometer. Mr noob
This is a little bit off topic, i’m 16 and I’m looking for my first vehicle would you recommend a super Moto just as a commute vehicle to school? And if so what bike and preferably affordable.
Yep, SMs are pretty reliable all around so they're a good first bike but I'd honestly recommend stepping down a little and going for a used dual sport like the honda crf250L or kawi klx250 since you're new to the scene!
Edit: Spelling mistakes*
Yeepp, i also recommend the dr650, a little bit lower seat height(if you’re vertically challenged) and its tough as nails, check it out!
Wow! it endured the full review without breaking😱
I think this is my dream bike after tons of UA-cam research. Wish I could responsibly pick it up as a first bike but I’m sticking with an r3 or ninja 400 for first I think
Dude I wouldn't be too concerned about this bike or any bike really I know they are being responsible by saying it's not new rider friendly but any bike can be ridden sensibly and any bike can get you hurt, my first bike was a xsr900 (mt09), never had any issues with feeling like it was too powerful, I never tried to ride outside of my limits, the way these guys talk about "not a beginner bike" is like they are suggesting every new rider is a hooligan or only wants to be a hooligan, the only real concern with getting a brand new zero mile bike is dropping it, no matter what cc it has it's going to be costly on a new bike, but don't be concerned about too much power because only you the rider can make it go fast, the xsr900 is known for its very aggressive acceleration it can power wheelie in 3rd but with TC on and in B or standard mode it's just a normal bike and It felt not a lot different to the mt07 I did my training and test on, I personally think the only thing to consider when getting your first bike is maybe not buy new but something on the cheaper side, used that won't be heart breaking if you drop it, but you are doing the smart thing but smaller bikes get outgrown very quickly, I've not got anywhere near the full potential of the xsr900 in the 1.5 years I've have it, I've still got a good few years to get out of this bike before I will feel the need to go bigger or change riding style.....any way you will have fun no matter what you get.
Stuart81 gracias sir, I have only ridden a BMX bike for years and the motorcycle training course for a few hours lol but im a tad bit stubborn & my heart is set for this acid gold that some may refer to as vomit.
You sir, are not the reason for any of my stupidity for the acid gold bike I just put money down for, but gave the reassurance to ease the nerves of the obvious dangers for a beginner.
despite engine recalls ... check engine lights and squeaky brakes... the bike works flawlessly ...lol... it's perfect..lol
