  • AI is becoming more prevalent in every industry. While some uses are under scrutiny, AI can be extremely useful for certain situations. This video shows how we can use AI to reduce render times by hours with very little loss in quality.

    Thank you for your honesty, you are the first one I see here on youtube that says it can take longer than a day. All other videos about Topaz AI do not show that. I have searched like crazy for the settings for Topaz AI because it takes me way too long for a 19 minute video takes a whole day and 5 hours! Your video is fantastic I am now working on improving the Work-print of Rocky V that is on the internet and it is now taking only an hour and a half per 19 minute video. At least it's making progress now. I'll run the videos through Topaz AI a few times. Thanks again, this will help me a lot.😀👍👏👏👏

    i tried messing with this a few weeks ago with a composited test render with real footage and it looked okay, I'm finishing it up right now then I'm going to see if it will help with compositing if I intentionally downscale so it will help blend the cg with the footage :)

    Nice examples. Thanks :)
    Heard it interpolates frames really well too so you can render every 2nd frame in 3D and then interpolate between frames saving another 50% on some projects. Mostly slow moving stuff.
    Issue with this is for comp heavy projects though where you need AOV data.

      It does interpolate very well. There are some issues which I plan on taking a look at. Definitely wouldn't work in all circumstances but in a lot of cases it does. I didnt show it but I did go from 24 fps to 60 in the included renders and it worked very well. As far as AOV's go I see this as a last step after you have done everything else although I imagine you could possibly run AOV's through it separately and it might do ok. You can export back into .exr to but I'm not sure if it would mess with data or not

    Thank you for the video. I have been looking for how the software is useful for vfx 👍

      It really is. Saves a ton of time. I'll be using it for all my renders in the foreseeable future

    I have a 3090 w 64GB and my renders are DOG slow. Is there something I need to do to tell TopazAI to use my 3090?

    • @InsideTheMindSpace
      @InsideTheMindSpace  9 місяців тому

      You shouldn't need to. Make sure your drivers are updated I guess. How long is the video you are working with?

    • @f2f.photography

      @@InsideTheMindSpace It's 3:26 4K 59fps. (I should have shot in either 30 or 24). It was low light and I had to bring up the shadows and exposure so I am trying to denoise and sharpen. When I first put the video in Topaz, it said 2 hrs 20 min. I'm down to 1 hr 9 min but I have 6 more videos to go and was wondering if I need to do anything. All drivers on system up to date (i9, 128GB system RAM, Z490 Godlike MB, RTX 4090 w/24GB. )

      Yeah so that's a lot of video at high resolution to be going through so that's definitely part of it. I can't say for sure since I don't know exactly how it works on the backend but I would expect it to work similar to other software. I am guessing that it loads everything to the vram which would probably be maxing out your vram. I would try cutting the video into a few separate parts and seeing if it speeds up with less video to go through and then you could bring it back into resolve or whatever editing software to splice it back together

      Thanks for the support! Hopefully that works. When you are processing it I would monitor vram usage to make sure it isn't overloading

    Just compensating decreased hours in upscaler

    • @InsideTheMindSpace
      @InsideTheMindSpace  Рік тому

      If you're meaning you will spend the same amount of time upscaling as you would rendering then that is completely wrong. The example scenes took less than 3 minutes to upscale from 1080 to 4k. I can assure you all of them would get through only a couple of frames rendering native 4k in 3 minutes
