First I'd like to tell you of an act of kindness that was given to me this week at the DT. I ran short of money and told the cashier to take an item off. The young lady behind me told the cashier she'd pay for it and she did. I insisted it wasn't necessary but she wouldn't hear it. My point in telling this is to let everyone know of the feeling you get on the receiving end. It's inexplicable. My act of kindness was giving my landlord (I live property) a large bowl of homemade rice pudding I just cooked. Her husband has prostate cancer and is constantly at Drs appts.
I helped a homeless person who was on a street corner pan handling on a very windy day by going back home, filling a bag with some flannel shirts, blankets & food. I went back, gave him the items & he cried because I hugged him. He said that people never want to come near him & I told him he was special & needed to know that he was worthy & a good person like the rest of us only he'd fallen on hard times ✨️❣️✨️ loved 😍 your project thanks so much for sharing & have a great week ✨️☺️💖🥰🌺❣️✨️

Congratulations to the winner this week! I just spent over 3 weeks traveling for the birth of my first grandchild! He was born on the 18th of February and it was a true blessing! My health hasn’t been so good and as I have been traveling I had to use my scooter because I have been having trouble walking. So many people #Spreading Happiness try to help me along the way. So many people opening doors for me. Asking can. Hello you with anything. It makes me very happy to see people go out of their way. I mean I have been in a situation where I couldn’t open the door. So when someone asks it makes me feel good to know that they’re people who don’t mind spreading happiness! I know I do!
I got your happy mail i won i love it! This week was bad week for me lots bad news but i kept my spirits up and the happy mail made it better not often i win or get anything in mail besides bills lol. I made food to take to a fruend who was sick. This was such cool idea and i have freezer paper on my grocery list now lol
I really love this project Cathy! I can't wait to try this! I told the flight attendants they did an amazing job when I was exiting our plane. They really appreciated hearing that😊
For me, spreading kindness is letting people know that I appreciate them. I always put some scrapbooking item in my purse when I go to the doctors office, etc., that I buy at the Dollar Tree, such as; stickers or a stencil. They always respond with a smile and a thank you.🌱💛

White Parchment paper or the release paper from fusible web. As a longtime quilter and using freezer paper for pattern making, it is the best way to seal the fabric edges. Something else to use for protecting your fabric from scorching or burning you fingers, is to use a Teflon pressing mat on your work table. Love your projects! So fun!
My version of spreading happiness was to share my paper backed napkins, that I learned to make here, in a junk journal site I belong to!! Thanks Cathy!!
Yesterday we had our weekly Sunday family dinner. My 7 year old granddaughter had spent the weekend with me and was helping me get things ready. I was putting on a fresh clean table cloth on the very large. dining room table when she walked in. “Let me help you grandma “ she said. “It makes my heart feel happy when I help someone “, she then said. Wow, what an opening for a little talk about being kind (and that making you a better person. )

Cathy, I have just taken off with your idea of the coffee dyed freezer paper (after the parchment paper did not work 😅 ). I have been using some antique lace and linen napkins and it works beautiflly !!!! Now i dont know what to do with them. Any suggeztions ?

As I make many junk journals for church friends and family, and working on several at a time, I say prayers for that person. Maybe they are going through hard times or just themselves being kind, I feel my kindness to them is thinking and praying for them. That's my spreading kindness.
I always do kind things for others. This week i suggested powdered sugar for donated hushpuppies. Everyone thought i was crazy but almost all of them were then eaten with coffee and hot chocolate!
I made a small envelope journal and sent it to a friend who has been going through a very tough time as Happy Mail! She was very excited and touched. Made me happy to make her happy. Thank you for all you do!

oh Cathy, I didn't mean to sound bossy lol about using the parchment paper. I think what I was doing by using a big iron and a bath towel as a mat underneath was the problem. I had an issue with turning my paper over and sticking it to the towel in addition to my tissue paper. I was using tissue to meld to the freezer paper. You made it look so easy! Anyway, mine got destroyed, (live and learn right?) so I am going to try your method. Love to ya.

My act of kindness is giving a young man a place to live so he can get a job and hopefully be able cut to improve his life. I also feed him as he has no money right now but I have faith that he he Will be able cut move forward from here. Everyone needs a home, a safe place.
I gave a man directions to a place he wanted to go while I was putting fuel in my car. He asked three different people and no one would acknowledge him.
I love spreading happiness as much as possible. I make homemade jellies and share with my neighbors. They are so happy to get the jelly. Thank you for your kindness. ❤❤

Genius idea. I wonder if parchment paper would work with glue? I have a box of that and can't spend on the wax paper at this time. I just want to try it soon. We've had several doctors appointments as of late. I bring my crochet thread and make tiny hearts to share. It's nice the next time I go to see their hearts on their name tags. TFS. Huge HUGS! My Spreading Kindness this week was mailing a snail mail (paper) card to an online friend who was recently diagnosed with cancer. I tucked in some fun things like a page out of a devotion/inspirational book , and a clipping from a humorous book that I thought might make her smile. I also put a lot of pretty stickers all over the envelope. It's really not hard to spread kindness - it's basically just being thoughtful. OH - I had a question about this project... I have Wax Paper, but I don't have Freezer Paper. Will that work?

🎉😊spreading happiness!! On a personal note, I’ve made a personal decision. Smile. When I’m sad. I give myself a few moments and then do my best to think of how many things I’m grateful for and I smile. When I find that something has heightened my sense of anger or injustice. I pray that all is in Gods hands and all will be taken care in his time and I have no power and anger only hurts me. I give thnx for the opportunity to pray and I smile. I want to create a habit of smiling naturally and sincerely. These habits and mind shifts allow me to be in public and Smile at everyone I see, with a purpose. Even those who avoid eye contact with me. I smile. So often we do not know what others are going through and a smile and kind words go a long way. So often when we smile at others it is contagious and others smile at others. Take care everyone 😊
You're right, it's just preference on how to do this. Your way makes sense because you remove the excess, so there is no risk of getting it on the iron. I think your way makes better sense. Love this way! Spreading happiness❣️

Parchment paper. I’m lazy I don’t won’t to clean my iron. But you do it so much more graceful than I do. Nice fabric papers very lovely.

I think you would cover it with a piece of parchment paper.

Some folks use parchment paper to avoid the iron sticking. You can somewhat see through it. 😊

If you sew with a machine then I think it could cover a spine but not be the spine. 💐🥰
I tried the freezer paper with my current journal I'm working on. For some reason it didn't stay adhered very well.
It take some heat to melt that coating. More heat, don’t just move the iron around. Try that. 💐🥰
