Was the actual story not dramatic enough for you? If you need music to resolve the drama I suggest you have problems empathising and should probably take a long hard look at yourself.

The cello picking up as the co-pilot exclaims, the synth taking command as he whips out the handbook, the orchestra harmonizing when the camera pans over the Hudson, the fear in everybody's eyes amplified ten fold and the music ending as the splashes of water die out. THIS IS GLORIOUS.

The "Heads down, stay down" part really got to me. Amidst the incredible music and visuals it really grounded things for me; brought me back to the visceral nature of such circumstances.
Took me a while to fathom that the heads-down brace-for-impact posture is to prevent people from violently lurching forward from an upright position, and slamming their foreheads on their knees at the moment of impact.

The track, no... masterpiece truly is moving. I became emotional at the moment when the man looks out the window to see the plane heading straight for him, that's exactly what some of those who were working in the world trade center saw before they perished on 9/11/01. Never forget.

This guy Sully would have retired just a year later, just like thousands have before him, but why he is the only one whom we are talking about here? If you look on Google Maps at the flight path ... I can't believe he had the air speed from take off to make it that far. The plane is FALLING the whole way.
It's a statistical certainty that if any pilot other than Sully had been flying that aircraft when this happened, all aboard would have been lost. None of their training had prepared them for this sort of scenario. It was only Sully's ice cold mad skills and experience as a glider pilot that allowed that plane to ditch without a single fatality.

The poor folks of New York City that must have felt a terrible, sinking feeling seeing a low-flying airliner that day. Fantastic job by all those involved. This is why flight crews and pilots have such extensive safety training.
There's a documentary about Flight 1459, and they mention that there were calls to emergency services from all across the city regarding the plane flying too low. 9/11 was a thought for those on the plane and those on the ground.

This is an outstanding video. The gravity of the situation, the dramatic music, the panicked looks of people wondering if 9-11 is happening again, the terrible but controlled feelings the ATC person and pilots had, all came together. Overwhelming, and wonderful. Terribly dramatic. Thanks.
This added so much more emotion and impact to the already suspenseful scene. The moment it showed the average New Yorkers all viewing the plane as it fell, you could see September 11th flashing behind their eyes. All of them. The gravity, the subtle reminder of the incident that scarred NYC forever...this brought a tear to my eye.
Came within a whisker of being attacked by onion ninja's as well. Combo of intense music and and intense scene basically just B2'd it's way under my radar.
One really important thing was actually starting the APU. Since water landings weren't expected to be a decision made low on time, the checklist was way too long for them to do. Therefore, they didn't disable the terrain warning system and since that gets prioritized by the plane, they didn't hear other warnings (like low speed). Now, the reason the APU helped was getting them back under alpha floor protection (basically, the plane doesn't let you pull up far enough to stall/get below minimum speed for flight).
This is a great edit. Considering the original Sully landing sequence was split over the course of the film. You've put it back together and matched it with the music.
Imagine how the people felt on the plane. They literally thought they were going to die, and thankfully, they did not, because of the amazing work the crew, boats and rescuers did
@@RONALDB62 yeah but if the boats haddent already started heading out from seeing the plane the response could have taken up to 5 mins later. Which may not sound like much but 5 more mins would have put even more people into risk of hypothermia and drowning and without boats already on the way to coordinate the other responders were talking losses of man power during response to a possible mass causality event of up to an hour when you account for every single person in the rescue and the time that it took. I work with several retired emt and fire fighters (part time work for them). You would have had dead if the tugboats didn't fly out and take charge as fast as they did. No doubt

As someone who is really into aviation, this incident is truly ... breathtaking. Ditching such a large aircraft is beyond dangerous, and while they had the luck of quiet smooth air, it still takes incredible skill, professionalism, and a huge portion of cold-bloodedness to not be overwhelmed by the notion that you and the 153 people in the back are probably about to die. If I had to name my role models I look up to, then Captain Sullenberger would be very much on top of the list. Since that fateful day, 10 years ago to the day. #MiracleOnTheHudson
and if it happened exactly like it did in that courtroom scene then shame on the governing body for trying to pin it on the pilot. If Sully had lost his integrity in that courtroom like so many humans could of, he would be rotting in a cell for doing his job to the best of his ability. Makes me angry when I think of how they treated him.
I've never seen this film but after watching this video I don't think whatever soundtrack, if any, is played in this scene could ever top this perfect alignment here. So perfect.
Best part of the music is that it’s composed as a musical timer. So you can avoid a cliche Physical Timer that you see a lot (typical bomb defusing scenes in other movies is an example) in Both Sully and Interstellar time was on the line. And including the scene from interstellar that has this music it made me appreciate this edit so much more.

This guy Sully would have retired just a year later, just like thousands have before him, but why he is the only one whom we are talking about here? Cause he was put in a situation to show his capabilities whereas others never got a chance to prove. Being alive is just an end result of his decades of hard-work and is not just that moment in time achievement.

It's a statistical certainty that if any pilot other than Sully had been flying that aircraft when this happened, all aboard would have been lost. None of their training had prepared them for this sort of scenario. It was only Sully's ice cold mad skills and experience as a glider pilot that allowed that plane to ditch without a single fatality.

The guy had skills, he was one with the machine, only people who are one with a machine can tell what its capable of like those mad Japanese pilot of Japan Airlines Flight 123 who controlled a 747 with only the engines, no one in a simulator ever managed to accomplish what they did, they did crash however keeping the plane in the air for as long as they did was a feat of heroism, Japanese air travel never recovered after this incident even to this day.
The poor folks of New York City that must have felt a terrible, sinking feeling seeing a low-flying airliner that day.
Fantastic job by all those involved. This is why flight crews and pilots have such extensive safety training.

This added so much more emotion and impact to the already suspenseful scene. The moment it showed the average New Yorkers all viewing the plane as it fell, you could see September 11th flashing behind their eyes. All of them. The gravity, the subtle reminder of the incident that scarred NYC forever...this brought a tear to my eye.

One really important thing was actually starting the APU.
Since water landings weren't expected to be a decision made low on time, the checklist was way too long for them to do. Therefore, they didn't disable the terrain warning system and since that gets prioritized by the plane, they didn't hear other warnings (like low speed).
Now, the reason the APU helped was getting them back under alpha floor protection (basically, the plane doesn't let you pull up far enough to stall/get below minimum speed for flight).
'No time for Caution' is always bringing any footage to the new level of drama

Which may not sound like much but 5 more mins would have put even more people into risk of hypothermia and drowning and without boats already on the way to coordinate the other responders were talking losses of man power during response to a possible mass causality event of up to an hour when you account for every single person in the rescue and the time that it took. I work with several retired emt and fire fighters (part time work for them). You would have had dead if the tugboats didn't fly out and take charge as fast as they did. No doubt

As someone who is really into aviation, this incident is truly ... breathtaking. Ditching such a large aircraft is beyond dangerous, and while they had the luck of quiet smooth air, it still takes incredible skill, professionalism, and a huge portion of cold-bloodedness to not be overwhelmed by the notion that you and the 153 people in the back are probably about to die. If I had to name my role models I look up to, then Captain Sullenberger would be very much on top of the list.

I've never seen this film but after watching this video I don't think whatever soundtrack, if any, is played in this scene could ever top this perfect alignment here. So perfect.
Best part of the music is that it’s composed as a musical timer. So you can avoid a cliche Physical Timer that you see a lot (typical bomb defusing scenes in other movies is an example) in Both Sully and Interstellar time was on the line. And including the scene from interstellar that has this music it made me appreciate this edit so much more.
