So, I'm reading the book "Vendo Ritmo - Natalino Otto 40 + 1 anni dopo..." (the title is roughly "I Sell Rhythm - Natalino Otto 40+1 Years Later...) by his daughter, Silvia Codognotto Sandon. She includes an interview she did with Claudio Avenali and they discuss how this song by Jula De Palma caused a major scandal with the press, the Vatican, the critics, and of course the political party of the time. Sound depressingly familiar? Per my own translation, Claudio Avenali says: "The authors were forced to change some of the lyrics. She was criticized for wearing an evening gown that was too sensual, and I won't tell you what they said about how she presented the song. Jula risked her entire career with that song." This was part of their discussion of the effect the development of TV had on radio and music. Claudio commented that had this song been presented in exactly the same way but only on radio and not on TV, no scandal would have happened.
