Finding Runes is so thrilling! I hope you are all doing fine and maybe even playing WoW again :D
I worked quite a bit for this video, I hope you guys will appreciate it and find it useful!
This Guide goes over all the things you need to know for Mutilate Rogue Build in the third phase of Season of Discovery (or Classic+).
I go over the Best items in Slot list for the raid and before the raid, Opener, Rotation, Talents, Builds and Runes for PvE

I'm aware of the latest changes coming to Saber Slash. I will make a video about it after I test it out. For the moment I think that it's going to be a proper build - however I don't think it will out DPS Mutilate.
Simon shows it was out DPSing mut by a little on fights that don't have heavy target switching, such as the council fight in ST.
@@allied006 I am not getting the same simulation results tho.
@@allied006 Even if we assume Simon's results are correct it was on fights with no switching that last 1min+, meaning only last boss for elite guilds, and for your average guild, still only 2nd and last boss. On every other fight muti would reign supreme, though not by much. Essentially Blizzard just made saber perfectly viable for anyone that wishes to play it, but it's very rarely going to be better than mutilate.
Even tho, the Rotation ON Saber Slash Looks boring, also you Spec deep into Asassination tree sucks too.
@@weweedboy There isn't much of change in Talents, since none of the Talents offer too much DPS really xD

New Rogue here and this video t top tier. Great pacing in the way you talk, informative and straight to the point - along with adding other details such as prequest for certain items, without getting side tracked. I really like the "Raid Comp" section. I don't really see that in a lot of guide and how we can synergize with other classes. Or they don't cover in the way that you do. Great Job!

Excellent video friend, I am also a rogue but what I would like to know is how long it took you to get the trinkets, or rather how many offerings you used to obtain them :)
It takes you about 2 hours, less if the Dungeon bug still works (check out my Wild Offerings Farm video) to farm 10 offerings.
I got my Darkmoon Cards by buying them from the Auction House, I did A LOT Nightmare Incursions for gold. It's 100g per hour and it all depends how expensive are the cards on your server.
Great video! A few quick things to help people save gold. You mention that the agility to weapon enchant is super expensive but did not mention how Julie's Dagger and Shadowblade (which are 1000g and 600g on my server and even more on other servers) are even more expensive and you can get the Hookfang Shanker from BRD Arena and only lose 11 dps over Julie's Dagger and 6 dps over Shadowblade. Also I feel you could have mentioned that most guilds will give the Scapula that rewards the Drakeclaw ring to other classes first because it is a much bigger upgrade for them over us Rogues and Blackstone ring.
When it comes to Greater Arcane Elixir's; They are 9g on most servers at the time of this comment, far from worth it over regular Arcane Elixir's which are only 70s. Also the cost between +7 and +9 strength to bracers is 4g vs 90g. Other differences like the 3 dps increase between Shadow Oil 3g each and Dense Sharpening Stone 30s each might not be worth it either. Unless you are hitting 98's and pushing for 99's the difference in places like that might not be worth it.
I say this as I came across a Rogue this morning with double librams, double agility enchants, double card decks and boomstick but he was green and blue parses across the board. As Markonicus said group comp and a good raid are the most valuable thing when it comes to parsing.
I didn't want to say those details, since I already mentioned them in prebis video etc., it's only natural to go for lower enchants if you don't have the gold for it or you don't want to spend that much gold for minor upgrade.

So basically spend 10x the length of a raid... to complete an easy raid for an extra chunk of DPS. Times are wild. Good guide though.

I'm all for keeping it vanilla but in SoD they could adjust the consumables some. They're already changing things, so a little less micro management would be good. Flasks, persisting through death only would be just fine.
I am fine with them going away upon death. It would save me some gold if they didn't, but it wouldn't feel right if they remained :D

Elixir of Firepower for Chilli and dont use Oil of Immolation sice it resets ur Wepon swing timer every time and u will lose out of alot of dmg, way more than Oil would ever do
I didn't know Oil resets your weapon swing, interesting. Still quite useable if you pay attention to swing timer. Elixir of Firepower I am not sure if it increases Chili damage tho - I didn't find any info on that.
You still haven't passed me on the server leaderboard for the top DPS??!! WTF man!
Also I'll be going to Wild Growth, how about you? Crusader Strike is pretty much dead :(

Exposed Armor is kind of a joke really, for that small DPS upgrade it's not worth it ruining a players DPS - so my guild isn't doing Expose rotation.
The whole guild is probably gonna go.
@@Markonicus Did ur Server Transfer went smooth with the Guild ? I heard alot of ppl got fk'd and the guild got splitt in 2 because they closed Ally.
Been tryna get the BFD dagger and the SFK dagger ... ran SFK so many times man shits crazy stuck with like lol 23 green dagger . But a blue level 20 1 dropped in stocks last night . Not the prison shank tried to farm that 2 SMH ... But the better weps make a big difference 😂😂
My other rogue is 37 with like full bfd gear .. but. Now my new 1 only has like 2 3 pieces of bfd gear =/
It doesn't matter, you will level up fast and forget those low Daggers :D
new rogue here, have you tried the saber slash build? whats easier to play? whats more fun to play? is the dps the same?
Easiest Mutilate Cut to the Chase. Mutilate more fun to play. Mutilate bigger DPS on majority of the fights, I would even say all.
just fyi you can get songflower serenade without doing that corrupted quest, just need to find a cleansed songflower (they can either spawn as cleansed already or corrupted_
Songflowers have a 25 minute cooldown before you can click them again. There are two kinds of songflower at each spawn point : cleansed (light) and uncleansed (dark). Both of these can be either visible or not visible. The cleansed version can be clickable or unclickable. There are six states of songflower:
Only uncleansed visible, clickable : flower is off cooldown. Cleanse with 2 salves to despawn the uncleansed and spawn a clickable cleansed flower to get the buff.
Cleansed visible, clickable : click for buff. Starts 25 minute cooldown. If this flower has been "picked" four times, this will make the cleansed flower invisible.
Cleansed visible, not clickable : flower is on cooldown. After 25 minutes, this will be clickable again.
Neither cleansed nor uncleansed visible : flower is on cooldown. This will spawn an uncleansed version when the cooldown is up.
Both cleansed and uncleansed visible, both clickable : click the cleansed flower to get a buff. If you use salve to cleanse the uncleansed flower, you wasted your salve.
Both cleansed and uncleansed visible, only uncleansed clickable : flower is on cooldown. If you cleanse the uncleansed version, you will not get a clickable cleansed flower. Be careful not to waste your salve on these.
Basically someone cleansed it for you.
Great guide! Just a question, why spending several talent points into Backstab enhance if that's not part of the rotation at all?

@@Kyiolol-Twitch Cut to the Chase, Focused Attacks, Mutilate, Deadly Brew, Shadowstep and Master of Subtlety.
Improved Backstab also improves Mutilate, read the Mutilate tooltip!
Leveling my other rogue cause I changed servers. . . But I'm running assin talents till 30 31 then switching for blade fury . Dose that sound about right ?
I would say yes for leveling. But you can also go full Assassination if you don't wanna change Talents.

I noticed you said target dummies are very important. Are you dropping them often in raid? Like when the tank is about to go down or what? I kinda stopped caring about dummies after never leaving town without them in hardcore
They are great for huge pulls in speed running.
That's their most important purpose.
You mentioned at 32:31 that you should use focused attacks or combat potency if you are below 35% crit chance. At 17:20 you said that you won't use focused attacks if you are below 35% crit. So, at 32:31 did you mean you should use honor among thieves or combat potency while below 35% crit? Seems like an obvious answer after typing this out but I just want to make sure I got it right.
If you have 35% Crit or more use Focused Attacks.
If you have less than 35% Crit use Combat Potency.
Honor Among Thieves is useable at any crit %, party comp is what matters for HAT.

So is focused attacks only really good when fully buffed with over 35% crit?
I mean it's always good, but it's better than Combat Potency above 35% crit.
Would elixir of firepower also buff dragon breath chili? I believe you can use with arcane elixir as well
You can use them together, but to my knowledge Fire Damage doesn't increase Chili damage :D
Maybe I'm wrong tho.

It's an okay Dagger for sure.
Why do you put 2 talent points into Murder for only 2% DMG increase, vs putting those 2 points into Lethality for 12% more Crit DMG? Am I wrong, and not understanding something.
Lethality sounds super good, but % Critical Damage is a wacky stat in Classic and it's actually less valuable than Murder.
Could you please share your presets?
No matter what I try on the sim, brd's belt stills sims higher for me
I put all the buffs up, 90 seconds fight duration, all the raid buffs (in misc I put on the Fist Weapons and Gift of Arthas).
Going for Enchanter and that's pretty much it.
Debased Stealth Blade is now bis OH I believe which is good. Glad they are making raid loot weapons bis.
It took them way too long tho

Its totally insane that they changed the stats so late. I did like 50-60 BRD arena runs for Hookfang Shanker and Girdle of the Bestial Fury and deleted my temple looters waistband. And now the Debased Stealth Blade and Temple Looters waistband are BIS and my deleted one is non-restorable. Total waste of time. Thanks blizzard.
@@LGNO1 Big RIP, I just got my Belt today - won it against 4 other ppl! Have 13th best overall DPS as a Rogue and I did it on a non logger run. Feels quite good.
But the fact that we won't get new phase for who knows how long... That sucks so hard.

They are okayish on bosses, not really needed... But man in speedruns Sandstorm works like a charm!
And for open world content Decay heals you and it's just so good.

Read Mutilate tooltip - it scales off abilities and talents that buff Backstab

I dont get it, how is AB belt better than engineering belt? Both gives 1% crit, but engi belt has buff + hit. AB belt has 20 AP. Is AB belt still better if engi belt has buff off cd, you say?
I mean Engineering Belt is better if you get the 3% increased Critical Strike Chance from it. I dislike it since it's 15 minutes Cooldown and it only works 50% of the time. I don't want that RNG :D
If it always gave Critical % I would wear it when it was ready to be used.

Sooner? Before I get to play all the builds inside of the raid? That's not the greatest way to give knowledge. Also I do this as a hobby not as a job - content will be posted whenever I get the time and will power to do it.
Hey, this video is super in-depth, and three weeks after the launch works for the vast majority of players. Most of us aren't super sweaty Bois and only get to play an hour or two each evening, IF we're lucky. Thanks so much Marko, for what you do.

they have also been faster because of the 3 day raid lockout time. We only get one a week now so the build videos are going to take more time. Also the runes have been changing and they are all very close in dps now
