Your outfit is so lovely! I would recommend Agatha Christie for mystery! Her books are short but really well crafted and they're not scary at all, which I love since I hate horror but love whodunnit stories😊
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned being an HSP (highly sensitive person). I discovered this about myself almost one year ago and it helped me understand myself sooo much better! An HSP has the qualities of high sensitivity, introversion, and empathy. I really resonate with the part in this video about sensitivity to noise and external stimuli and also the part about social anxiety. I can be extroverted but I get overwhelmed easily! I just subscribed to your beautiful channel! Thanks so much for sharing
You seem like such a kind and smart person (& you also look stunning!) 🥰 I used to get jealous when people said they love studying but I think I finally found my path and now I get it! I'm really happy I found your channel 😌
I just found your channel recently and I've been watching all of your videos! I love the coziness/aesthetic of your videos! 💛 I look forward to future videos. I hold reading and writing really close to my heart! I did my undergrad in English and took a couple of creative writing classes. Books are so magical! 📖✨
This video was really interesting, I love your Q and A stuff / videos about your personal self! It's really nice that even from a young age you were so good at creative writing, when one day your first book gets published I cannot wait to buy it and read it!! Your videos are so helpful during this time, I really enjoy them and I am so grateful for your content it feels like listening to a good friend :D Also, I could not agree more about Japan being overly romanticised. I've spoken it since I was young , I used to live there and have only ever had Japanese jobs, but living there made me nearly hate everything about it. In the end it gave me much more perspective on the world. I realised the best thing is to try and take the positive parts of the cultures/countries we like whilst acknowledging the flaws as well.
Thank you so much--I'm so happy you like my videos 😊💛💛 (And yeah I think acknowledging flaws and nuances is really important! It helps manage people's expectations. No where and no one is perfect)
i understand you so much with loving time alone but being sad when alone for a long time.... i used to think I'm such an introvert and not a social person at all back when I lived in a very social environment. but then my family had to move to a very secluded town and man, after 2 years I finally understood what loneliness meant. also, im very sound-sensitive so I cannot concentrate on anything if there are ppl around me , cannot do the work or hobbies I enjoy so much (writing, reading, thinking abt anything even ...) so I spend a lot of time alone for that, but I wish I weren't like that. honestly, I think it's nearing some kind of disorder like misophonia. so now I don't even know how to explain to ppl when they ask that I actually would love to be an extrovert, I just physically cannot get on with anything with ppl around. it also must seem so odd to an outsider for me not to be an introvert, since im socially awkward because of not having the opportunity to be around people more and "practise" my social skills lol
You are seriously the most lovely person. Totally wish you lived closer to the US so we could chill. I hope you have the best day. And if you don't, know we're all here for you to speak to and chat with. Thanks for this fun vid with some good advice that I also agree with (but don't follow myself hehe)! Also can't believe the first vid I watched of yours was 5 years ago. No wonder it feels like I'm listening to a friend talk...I've know your face longer than some of theirs 🤣
I can totally relate to the Japan being flawed but still loving it. Ultimately for me the flaws of working and living there outweighed the positives, but I hope to visit a lot.
It’s so interesting to me that I would have given almost the exact same answers! I’m more energetic, whilst you seem really lovely and calm, but we seem to be very much alike at the core of our personalities! So cool ❤️
Fun video! What board games do you enjoy playing with your partner? (I've been an avid board game hobbyist for a very long time, though it's been a full year since I've been able to play with anyone due to the pandemic.)
I also lived in Japan and I consider it my second home. I was supposed to go back last year (I go back every two years or so and make my rounds to meet up with friends and family), so the fact that it didn't happen and may not happen again this year is killing me T_T
This was such a long and exhausting week for me, but one of the things that kept me going was the fact that I'll get the chance to see a new video of you Christy, so thank you and btw I'm also happy to see my "assumption" made the cut 😅 💛
I want to visit Australia in the future. During a trip to Europe a few years back I met some really cool fellow travelers who were Australian, including this super sweet old couple from Adelaide! Watching Christy's videos have definitely added to my intention to visit lol. Cheers!
This was so interesting-thanks for sharing all of this! It makes you so much more “real”. And so many things I agree with 🙂 Ok, so mystery recommendation for you: the Nero Wolfe books by Rex Stout. Classic, clever, engrossing.
With your powerful following, I would refuse to work with anybody traditionally unless they approached me. I think you underestimate your influence - there ain't no red carpets in this business anymore. Focus on your brand - you already built it, right? Publish your book yourself!
she speaks British but is Japanese what lol btw I love your videos !!💕🌸 oh I watched all the video you used to live there just to say not being from there!!!
I also love picture books. Illustrations in children Books are often so amazing and lovely 😊
They honestly are! 💛💛
I love your voice, it is so calming🌸
Aah thank you so much 💛

Also try Nancy Drew series and anything from Mary Higgins - Clark. ♥️

I really love the aesthetic and chattiness of these videos.
I wish you good plot bunnies for your future writing endeavours!

Whenever she look at the phone, she looks gorgeous and with her ears showing through her hair. She look like Tauriel
Oh my gosh! She does!!!
As for mystery books i recommend the 7 deaths of evelyn hardcastle! It's like a clue game played in a british manor, I'm sure you'd like that style
When I want to feel happy and calm, I come to your videos. Thanks for exist😭💛
What a charming little cutie of a human you are! I enjoy listening to you so much!

Your accent is sooo beautiful♥ I loved your video!!
Your voice and the way you express yourself is so soothing and lovely!

Omg five years ago??? Gee WHIZ 💀 Thank you for hanging around this long, Miranda. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it 😭💛💛💛💛💛
Picture books are amazing! I second the Agatha Christie recommendation. I would also add John Dickson Carr and Dorothy Sayers (they are the cozies).
I can totally relate to the Japan being flawed but still loving it. Ultimately for me the flaws of working and living there outweighed the positives, but I hope to visit a lot.
Christy ! This was suuper fun to watch i really enjoyed it ❤ and we have tons of things in common ! which made me so happy :D
I watched like 6 videos of yours in a row and I really like them... We have so many things in common and I can't wait to watch them all ♥
It’s so interesting to me that I would have given almost the exact same answers! I’m more energetic, whilst you seem really lovely and calm, but we seem to be very much alike at the core of our personalities! So cool ❤️

Thank you so much!! 💛💛
Agatha Christie is the queen of mystery!
you are very humble.
I also lived in Japan and I consider it my second home. I was supposed to go back last year (I go back every two years or so and make my rounds to meet up with friends and family), so the fact that it didn't happen and may not happen again this year is killing me T_T
I relate to so many points you mentioned so much. It's great to know that there are likeminded people all around the globe
You genuinely seem so kind!
Japan misses you too! ❤️ 🇯🇵

Awh thank you so much 😭 and thank you for popping in an assumption, too! I hope next week is better for you. Take care💛💛
I just took the personality test and I'm 77% introverted 4% Sensing 2% Thinking and 3% Perceiving the percentages are so tiny!
Binge watching your older videos because you're my confort UA-camr 🤎
A painted house by John Grisham. Mystery also not my typical genre.
Stephen kings book was amazing. And I don’t read the rest of his stuff.
I'd love to visit Japan once the pandemic is over. 🇯🇵 It's been on my bucket list since I was 8 years old!
I want to visit Australia in the future. During a trip to Europe a few years back I met some really cool fellow travelers who were Australian, including this super sweet old couple from Adelaide! Watching Christy's videos have definitely added to my intention to visit lol. Cheers!
I really like this video. I feel like I know u more, which is the point. But I also empath with u.
The Twisted Ones by T. Kingfisher is a fantastic thriller/horror novel that's based on old welsh/appalachian folk legends!
Ooh that sounds cool! 💛
God, we are so similar...wish I found your channel and met you while being in Australia...😊
You can try books of Riley Sager if you want to read mystery/thriller
