That is one dirty hoof- my parents would have tanned my hide if I let my horse's hooves get like that. I had to wipe, brush and check the hooves after each ride.
    Beautiful work!

Ya know a horses hooves can pack up like that if they are out in the pasture and its been wet. Mine are like that for the better part of the spring, summer and fall here with all the rain we get, has nothing to do with riding em, you can pick out their hooves, turn em out and in 24 hrs after a rain bring em back in and thats how they end up...packed, only way to prevent it is to pad em.

I really like cow foot trimming but it seems more cumbersome with getting them into the lift. But the work looks great. But I love that the horses just stand there and let you work. They could squish you but they are well behaved and you do an amazing job.

    Nice!
I know nothing of this but I have two questions:
    1) why are there more nails on one side?
    2) is the horse really not hurt/burned at all?

    • @catspatch7098

I know nothing about horses, but after beinf obsessed with these kind of videos for a while, I guess that
      1. Maybe one side needs more support for the metallic thing to stay?
      2. No. Its just like your nails. They don't feel anything, that is why you can clip them, drill them, and even with gel polish under the lamp you don't feel anything even though it gets hot. Theirs are thick and so they can stand the heat even more, I guess

Have you ever been to a podiatrist and they were working on your feet, and cut a little too deep? I have. I was 13 and reacted poorly by nearly kicking the podiatrist in the face due to the sharp slice of skin. Having gone through this, I'm confident with every fiber of my being that if the horse felt any pain, that farrier would be knocked on their ass before they knew what happened.

Sketchy working on hind legs?......when I was a kid a Farrier (called em horseshoers, lol) at stable where my dad kept a horse, got kicked in the head.....idk circumstances of why or how but put the dude in ICU and almost died....never forget hearing that story
Always was really careful walking around horses for short time I did hang out down at stable
