My FAVE series of the 80s!!! I, too, met Jane Badler! She was doing her show at Toff of the Town in Melbourne and she threw me a black rose 😀 WHAT A CLASSY LADY!!! I was SO pleased she was given a role in the V reboot? I just wish the reboot itself had been better. And killing off Diana? No wonder it got axed. But yes... I find myself YEARNING for a proper reboot, faithful to the original. And with a role for Diana that truly HONOURS Jane and the wonderful character she created! Sigh.... sadly? The world seems to lack the ability to make shows like V, anymore.

What a brilliant show this was. I was hooked on this as a kid and never missed taping it. TV was fun back in the 80’s when you never had to worry about offending someone. Great cast on this show and I always liked the fact it was the English actresses (June Chadwick and here Sarah Douglas) who got up Diana’s nose.
To OP. Except that *today* you have people whining about women in pivotal or powerful roles and (wrongly) believe this is something new when V and other tv shows did it almost 40 years ago. Did people back then complain about the most important character of the visitors being a woman or that the leader of the resistance is a woman?? No. But they sure as heck do *today* . Perhaps modern social media brings out the *worst* people en masse.

I also think along the way, people have become more fragile and are far quicker to take offence. A lot of the fun seems to be missing.

I met Jane Badler once, she had moved to Australia and became a jazz singer and I went to her show and after my mum went to her and told her I was a big fan, so she came over and introduced herself to me. I was so embarrassed and pretty sure nonsensical words fell out of ,y mouth haha

Agreed. I was always fascinated with the motherships of the V Sirian fleet. Fifty motherships arrived on earth but how many more of them were there? This show was a classic, a favourite and was very well received until the TV series. I wish they would do an actual worthy reboot which involved the original visitor fleet, totally ignoring the 2009 interpretation. But yes I loved the opening shot as well. A new threat indeed….for Diana that is: Pamela’s arrival.

@shawnhilleboe8428 yep, you're correct, Greta Blackburn played Lorraine with Barbara, played by Jenny Neumann. Barbara apparently wasn't in the final battle series. Both looked similar with different hairstyles, so i can see how i mistaken the characters.

I LOVED the politics and infighting between the bad guys. And the 1980's feathered hairdos were nice to look at too! Like all three of them at 2:12 🤣🤣🤣

@@danielleith8 They never showed the shuttle explode. The writers intended for there to be a resolution shown in the first episode of the next season, but it never happened. There is a script floating around for the next (unmade) episode, it was pretty crazy actually.
In Argentina it was broadcasted in Prime Time on TV, 2 episodes by Tuesday night, and the country was paralyzed watching these mini series in 1985 "V" and "Final Battle" all together. And immediately the V Series were broadcasted too (although quality was not as good as mini-series). In the school, there was no other topic of conversation in the following day.
First two parts of mini series are actually from 1983 broadcast in the US,screened in the UK on ITV summer 1984,were glued to our screens in anticipation, 1984 also year of so many well known memorable movies.
This was on late and I had to beg my parents to be allowed to stay up and watch it. I remember the feeling I got watching lizard like Aliens would come and eat humans for food. The motherships where scary, Diana was so sexy and evil.

Man. I miss this franchise. I wish they would do a real reboot of V that stuck closer to the original. If someone like Ron Moore would take it on the way he did BSG, that would be amazing.
