The huge jar that Xtreme comes in is just ridiculously big for the average hobbyist. It makes it cost too much and get stale. Maybe for a large fish room it works out nicely. 🙂

Very interesting vid! There doesn't seem to be a better guest for aquarium videos than Dean. Even without his vast knowledge on the subject matter he just seems like a great guy in general.
When I bought my LA 45C pump my aquarium room got so much quieter. I have lots of air and I only hear the sound of bubbles. Love it.

Got the krill flake at the last Aquatic Experience from Cory loved it. Tried the spirulina on my own. Glad to see Dean using it,makes me think I’m not crazy.

What I do sometimes is mix the Krill and Spirulina flake in one container. It's the best of both worlds
they make a community mix which is just that!

Great information on Extreme foods, I have-x, and the super pump. Plus, anytime you can combine that with Dean, you have a grand slam!
ALL creatures in all of my aquariums love the Xtreme krill flakes so much I ordered a container of the spirulina flakes. There are rarely left overs ;)
I have all of those products! I use them all. Even the pleco feeders. Love the small ones for my shrimp.

I have to say, that linear piston air pump is what I’m most excited for. :)
I admit I was skeptical but tried the nano pellet and my fish love it. Even the threadfin rainbows eat it.

I’ve been Feeding extreme pallets to my South Americans Ciclid tanks for years love then got the krill flake a few week a go and my fish love them

I first ran into Xtreme in 2013 at the ACA meeting in Denver. I forget the name of the guy and his farm but it was his in-house blend that they decided to start selling. It's weird to me that it's taken so long to become so popular. I suppose in 7 years it might've changed a lot. I never really used it after I ran out of my free samples of teeny tiny pellets.
I have Xtreme Nano food from KGTropicals sitting on my shelf for when my Clown Killifish finally start making fry
I think I might try the spirulina flake for my tadpoles.
I like the flakes but my rasboras LOVE those nano pellets
Xtreme is good, but I still think Ken's is on another level of its own.

I tried extreme back in 2010. To compare itt to newline.. fish liked New life better. So other day I ordered extreme again and most of the fish still like newline better in the pellet form. But the krill flake is a totally different story. They love the flakes
API Stress coat pond is just double strength stress coat aquarium. But Ultimate is still the best.
Oddly enough, the majority of my nano fish weren't interested in the krill flake... my betta weren't excited about it, either... most all of the food that I put in my tanks went uneaten. They had no compunctions about eating their normal food, however. I was shocked.
Just wondering... The fish love the smell of the Extreme food but is it nutritionally good for them as a long term staple? That linear piston air pump is the same as the one from Jehmco!
I find that the xtreme food has more binders in its ingredients.
I stopped feeding extreme because its full of fillers and made of meal. Also you can only find it in small containers. Omega one has no meal and I can buy it in giant buckets.
I don't feed it because they use ethoxyquin as a preservative. Ethoxyquin is technically not a carcinogen itself, hence why you still see it being justified for use in certain pet foods, but it is metabolized into carcinogenic byproducts and has thus been banned from human consumption.

What food should I feed my pond red dumbo mosaic guppies. I am gonna use some bloodworms and maybe BB but need a flake or pellet food. I was think Xtreme krill flake but its hard to get in Australia

Does anyone know if the Medo or Jemcho linear air piston pump can handle extreme temperatures? Looking to use it on an outdoor pond in Zone 5. Winters get down to Zero degrees fahrenheit & sometimes even below zero. Anyone have experience with this?

I was excited for the Xtreme foods until I saw that most contain ethoxyquin. The reason we no longer allow this preservative in human foods is due to the carcinogenicity of its metabolites. Unless they change the formula to address this issue, I'm no longer interested.

Maaan! I can only feed the Sera tabs the day before a water change it crumbles in a second and it disperses in particles so small that most fish can't eat it. That can be fixed with a tiny amount of pectin, or albumin in their recipe. Not buying it again

I always buy the cheapest fish food.
I used to but it is definitely not worth it if you want to breed your fish. Especially with more picky fish.

@@kinnikuzero I am all for cheap things but the cheapest ones are usually pretty terrible. Especially things like api and other brands that are mainly fillers.
I could be wrong though. There may be a very cheap brand that is worth while but all I have found is very bad brands.
