When a Demon Defiles a Witch blew me away, the song has so many different dynamics in it.
Anthony Yacullo It literally left me speechless. The bridge was something else 🤯
Its one of my favorite songs off the album. All of the dynamics are incredible
absolutely. i was aware of Whitechapel existing for a while, probably a few years, before listening to that song but never had much of an interest in checking them out. after listening to it (because the title caught my attention), it just clicked with me somehow and now Whitechapel is one of my favorite bands
@@credaaaooo824I love their hard stuff but the calm stuff and clean vocals on the valley and kin are so so good
@@YacAttacks agree. even though i like their older stuff as well (except mark of the blade, i don't have a single song from that album on my playlist), i feel like The Valley and Kin just build up so well on what they had done before. it just feels like seeing a band grow without abandoning their old style entirely
No joke but manly tears were shed while listening to Hickory Creek.
100% bro !
Yes indeed my friend, also THIRD DEPTH has cut me deep The very first time
No shame to admit it same haha
dude same I fucking ugly cried my first listen
Yes!! Definitely the ending part. Like reunited in death kind of vibe.
The Valley is the best thing they've ever done front to back.
I dont like there new album as much as there older stuff but it's still good
I'm Not a Picky Person, I Love All their Albums, Been a Whitechapel Fan, Since 2008, Phil Bozeman's Vocals, Are Fucking Brutal, He is So Fucking Good, i Have Nothing But Love And Respect, For them, Just An All Around, Kickass Band, Love You Guy's, Rock On 🤘😎🤘
Definitely the album that got me heavily into the band. It’s both beautiful and badass the dynamics in it is off the charts
Honestly, I absolutely adore The Valley.
Still brutal, but I love the mixed in clean Vocals.
Personally like their older stuff just a tiny bit more, but nice to hear they started experimenting honestly
This album is about what happened during his childhood. His stepfather getting his mom hooked on drugs and the misery he put her and them through, which led up to her untimely passing and the rage he had for his stepdad. There's one song where he says something along the lines of "dig you up from the dirt. You don't deserve to be one with the earth." Which about his step dad dying. Totally fully of raw emotion all across this album.
Close, "Dig the casket from the dirt, you don't deserve to be one with the earth"
From Forgiveness is weakness
We all know your going to hell come back to life....I'll send you myself what a tune
I might be biased towards this album because I unfortunately relate to some of the experiences Phil sings about in this album, specifically his stepdad. The Valley helped me find a voice when I was probably at my lowest and going through that whole situation. I won’t lie and say that I didn’t get emotional when they played Forgiveness is Weakness and Demon Defiles a Witch live. People say Whitechapel has gotten soft but honestly you can tell Phil is singing about some serious demons and I think that stuff is a million times more haunting than your basic death Murder and gore. I’m really excited to see where they go from here.
Drew Bro I hope you’re doing well mate and that you’ve escaped or are escaping that darkness that’s following you. This music is therapy and I’m so glad you’ve found solace in it. Stay safe dude 🤘🤘👍
Exact same reaction I had the first time I heard Phil's cleans on Bring Me Home. It blows my mind how good this guy sounds on both ends of the vocal spectrum!
Jake Schultheis I’m so shook 🤯🤯 like can he get any better!?
@@LinzeyRae If the valley is any indication;
ABSOLUTELY YES
If Phil gets any better I'm going to have to reorganize my vocalist Mt. Rushmore idea.
That record absolutely blew me away. Bonus was seeing some of the songs performed live on their tour with Kataklysm. Phil absolutely owns these songs live it's really something to behold!
Dominic Christoph I would kill to see this album live 😍😍 I’m sure he killed it!
@@LinzeyRae Once the "Rona" leaves us they'll certainly continue the run with it. I'm sure your day will come! :D
Hell yea i got to see the new whitechapel stuff with dying fetus, revocation, spite and Fallujah
If you haven't heard it already, how about reacting to Demolisher by Slaughter To Prevail?
Definitely gotta check them out! Alex terrible is so sick. His lows are crazy
Alex is sooo good, and so is that motherfucking song! My metal song of the month...Jesus fuck it's good🤟🤘🖖
Was gonna comment the same thing till I saw your comment lol daily banger for sure
Yes I'd love to see her react to that song.
Fantastic song I love it
there is an official acoustic version of hickory creek. check it out!
Just my opinion: The Valley album is ground breaking just like White Pony was for Deftones.
Jesco White Absolutely agree! 🤘🤘👍
Deftones reference! 🤘🏼
That's an interesting take but I think there are a couple of things in The valley that hold the album back as opposed to the unrivaled masterpiece that is WP
That's a bold statement. I fell off Whitechapel after Our Endless War.
Not really a fan of their new stuff.
Phil Bozemans cover of unanswered by suicide silence live at the memorial show for Mitch is amazing. Again shows his range from so so low to the high screams that Mitch did. Gives me chills every time I see it.
Jasper Fogleman Dude! His performance for that show was insane! He did Mitch justice ✊
@@LinzeyRae yes he did! I knew he could go low but that was lower than I had heard him before.
Jasper Fogleman For real tho! His highs were on point too! He doesn’t use them very much in their own music, so it was super neat to see how wide his range was!
@@LinzeyRae exactly! He is so damn talented! Plus he makes it look so effortless. I go see them every time they come near me. Last year I went by myself to see them perform the whole "this is exile" album, which is my favorite.
Listen to it everyday
You should check out "Bleach Bath", "Rule of Nines", and "Blessed Be" by Spiritbox.
The Mara Effect also is so good. Spiritbox is awesome.
Agree, can't wait for them to make more music
Great recommendations Generic Man Spiritbox is awesome also in case no one knows the vocalist of spiritbox is the ex vocalist of IWrestledABearOnce 💜
SPIRITBOX 🙌
Spritbox is my life right now, I found them days ago and I cannot stop listening to everything! Soooooooooo amazing!!!
Hands down their best album, impressive how a band with so many years under their belt are still coming with their best stuff.
Allegaeon “Proponent for Sentience III “
Allegaeon “Gray Matter Mechanics “
Allegaeon “1.618”
Yes this
Got to love me some gray matter mechanics!
love this series linzey, keep it rolling!
This was pretty much my reaction to this album. They are already such a great band and putting themselves out there like this showing so much emotion was a new level of love. This band will always have a place in my heart. 💜
Your video on Knocked Loose was really good, would love to see your reaction to Code Orange's new record. It's very different, some people aren't into, but I think Underneath is monumental. This was a really well done video too!
I would love to hear your thoughts on "The Black Dahlia Murder"
Big same
I'd like to hear her thoughts on lesser known metal bands. Non compos mentis. Sam black church. Blood has been shed. Bloodduster. Shit that was around probably before most of her audiences time. Lots of amazing bands in the 90s and early 2000's. My personal favorite? Vehemence. Amazing band.
Anything from And Hell Followed With’s comeback EP.
I know you probably have got a long list but i would like to hear you cover alive with the glory of love by say anything. You just put so much emotion into your singing i think it would be awesome!
This is awesome. It was also awesome watching you guys destroy in Denver Yesterday ! So much fun at that show
I absolutely love your facial expressions!!!!! You make me laugh, and I've had a really bad day. I needed this, thanks, new subscriber.
Love you, love your content, and I love your voice! You’re simply the best keep going!!
Daniel Ortega Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoy the content! Thanks for tuning in 💜
Hadn't ever heard this band before, now I'm a fan. Loved both their song and your reaction. Thanks for this amazing content.
Dude, same here. I'm surprised i haven't hesrd this band before. This is exactly what i love
I instantly became a fan when I saw them with Atreyu several months ago, my jaw dropped when I heard his vocals
Taylor K. He is a straight up monster! 😍😍
Definitely impressed by the clean vocals. I remember hearing them when they first dropped back in high school and thinking “damn, this is brutal”
This album caught me off guard. Was not ready for the cleans.
I've always maintained these thoughts. Your body cannot keep doing the same repetitions over and over. They are probably ready for a more easy type. Vocal chords, fingers, etc cannot keep doing what they do to see them thru. They have put their everything in since the beginning. They need a break. The valley was amazing. A lot of people complain its not like the somatic defilement or this is exile. People gotta grow.
Couldn’t agree more. Plus it shows the creativity and maturity of a band when they are willing to go in different directions
I don’t think Phil is anywhere near close to calling it quits on using his gutturals to open portals to hell anytime soon.
Phil is a really good vocalist, sceaming or singing.
I was already really into whitechapel, this album made me even more a fan.
Hope to see them live one day
This album is off the charts, the way they seamlessly incorporate cleans into such hwavy music is spot on!!!
How did I miss this reaction portion of your channel ! Love yer face
Lisen Third Depth, is the most emotional one. That song hits so hard :-o
The acoustic version of Hickory Creek is beautiful almost makes me wanna cry
😁 I found the opening of the video pretty funny to be honest given it offers multiple meaning in my eyes lol!!! But Whitechapel has always been a favorite I've followed since they first came out!!! 😎 Even get to state I introduced their first album to all the others in my original circle back in the day before we all weant off in our different directions!!! The Valley was beyond impressive in my mind, and stating it speaks personally to me isn't a statement I use often, but unavoidably fitting as well!!! They are absolutely Lethal live too getting to see 3 seperate shows personally in the past!!! 😁 Truly motivating azz-kickin music and the tones mess with my personal style better then most in raw form!!! Loved the video, very cool thank you!!! 😎
I've been getting into hybrid vocals a lot lately. I'm sure you haven't listened to this band yet, but it was my favorite album of 2018. You should check out Rivers of Nihil's 'Where Owls Know My Name'. Soo amazing!
Phil's growls have always been monumental. Now his cleans are too. Dudes a beast and this album is awesome. Hard to beat having Navene Koperweis doing drums on the album also.
This album is so different, but incredible. I really appreciate your reaction
Phil Bozeman has one of my absolute favorite vocalists when it comes to metal. The first song I ever heard by Whitechapel was Bring me Home, so seeing the different dynamics of his voice in that song was such a shocker compared to their other music
wow, never knew they were out of Knoxville Tennessee, I live like 2 hours from there. lmao
I believe the tuning they use is Drop G. Messaged Alex Wade about it on IG when I ordered my LTD AW-7.
What I like about this type of video is you're actually reacting which is pretty neat. and the best thing is, you didn't play the full thing or a full song. you weren't a thief like a lot of react channels are. interesting, and did it correctly. and you have a cat, can't beat it. lol. Keep up the good work. :) You should check out Lost In Vegas, you share some similar things with them. You might be able to get an idea or two from them to help your quality become a little better, but other than that, as someone who hates react channels or reactions, I'm thoroughly impressed.
Phenomenal album, I’ve listened to it dozens of times and I love it more every time
Whitechapel was my first concert. I loved it
Saw you on Lauren's channel and Holy shit, you caught me by surprise.
Never thought Escape the Fate could be so brutal.
There's another song that never made it on the US version called Sea of Trees. This song is only available on vinyl and in Japan. Would love to see your reaction to this one since it has Somatic Defilement vibes.
bring me home was a song about his father, I do believe it was the first one with his cleans and it is an absolute gem if you have not heard it.
I totally forgot about kittay and at the beginning I thought “what was that”? Haha. And that second song, I had the same reaction. His cleans through me off.
You're such a badass 🤘🏽 love your videos and love your music 🤟🏽💯
🙏🙏🙏🙏 what a joy to listen with you to this awesome music
It was just like WOW when I heard it last year. It’s a totally underrated album.
Third depth is a great song from the album and the acoustic of hickory creek is really good as well
I'm not usually a Deathcore fan, but those songs HONESTLY sounded so good.
Hi Linzey!
You should make a video about Coldrain, a worldwide known Japanese post-hardcore/metalcore band. They slap!
I can't talk about the previous almond of Whitechapel but this last album is my favorite album on this last years. It's just amazingly good, so much power and different feelings and for me music is about that.
I couldn't wait until you got to Hickory Creek!!!!
We need more Linley uploads in our lives
he did an acoustic version of hickory creek as well
Very late to reply to ya, but yes... Hickory Creek is a very emotional song. It's about Phil Bozeman's death of his mother, while When A Demon Defiles A Witch is also about his mother as well, which ironically, she was a witch and indeed communed with a Demon.
Great album and I loooove it. He confirmed his next album (Q4 of this year!) will include more soft-vocal style like Hickory Creek, and a mix like When A Demon Defiles a Witch.
Shadow of Intent, Currents, Maximum The Hormon, those are quite interesting to evaluate.
I saw them live in a October there amazing
I think Phil took the same idea as Randy Blythe and tried a new avenue for the band and his vocal chords. I love it. Just proves his range is literally everywhere
I live under a rock too man. I never heard this but love it.
This whole album game me chills!
My vote for a reaction would be Beneath the Sky. I hardly hear anyone mention them or react to them but they released 3 incredible albums. Second choice would be He is Legend mainly because they have a wide range of style across their albums.
i literally relate to this so much just by the cat throwing up... mine does it as well
I love the Valley! Such a masterpiece of a record
My favorite album by them. Double points because it came out on my daughters bday
When a demon defiled a witch, is my all time favorite song. The feelings out into this whole album just blow me away
Your an amazing singer as well Linzey
You should do a QnA possibly with the band???
I had the same reaction when I heard Hickory Creek!!
Lmfao the cat excusing you made me laugh
Phil poured his heart and soul into every song, thats why it's such an emotional album
So, a fun experience that I'd recommend is checking out Berried Alive if you haven't before. They're an awesome band with some interesting twists!
Nice guitar in the back. Which one? A telecaster?
Ne Obliviscaris
Beautiful metal band with two vocalists & a violinist. They are from Australia.
I remember loving to hear his clean voice in Bring Me Home and Decennium, they were lovely as well.
Alexandra Lugosi Oh! I gotta check that out!
They have done clean vocals for the past couple of albums. I did some research to see if this was the first time.
I actually love it when metal bands make hard rock style songs especially if it has an emotional chorus
I love this album from Whitechapel, it shows their diversity
Linzey Rae is the best! Can’t wait for the next video keep em coming!
The acoustic version of hickory creek hits different 👌👌👌
You must hear the acoustic version of Hickory Creek!
Miss Linzey: this was awesome 😰. Please try to check out Upon A Burning Body, “Chains of Agony”, the final chorus reminds me of The Anchor.
I absolutely love hickory creek. It's done so differently from the rest of whitechapel's songs, and his singing voice absolutely blew me away.
Phil and tommy from between the buried and me are probably my fav vocalists
Thy Art Is Murder - Human Target has several masterpieces on it... like the best in the game sorta material. 11/10 type stuff. Eternal Suffering, Atonement, Eye For an Eye.
4:44 "Heavy" note. Don't know if you meant it but humor often hides behind sadness.
I would love to see you check out Vintersea because they are wildly underrated! They are lighter than Whitechapel but the vocalist is straight up one of the best female vocalist I have ever heard!!!
When A Demon Defiles A Witch is my fave Whitechapell song.
How about a video for Job For A Cowboy? Would love to see that.
I was born in 88 so I grew up with a lot of the best metal bands around even ones that were iconic before i was born
Try Bolt Thrower. Their riffs move land they're so powerful.
Lol you should check out hickory creek acoustic if the album version got contemplating 😂
U still need to check out Raven Black, A Killer’s Confession, & One-Eyed Doll.
You should definitely check out these bands, if you haven't already. These are some of my favourite Metalbands: Ensiferum, Eluveitie, Children of Bodom, Epica, Delain, Within Temptation, Nightwish, I See Stars, The Agonist (especially the first three albums), Red Handed Denial, Lorna Shore, Shadow of Intent, Blackguard, Silverstein, Veil of Maya, Crown the Empire, Gloryhammer, Bad Omens, As I Lay Dying, Norther, Conquer Divide, Dream State, Beast in Black, Beyond the Black, DragonForce, Wintersun, The Charm The Fury, Hands Like Houses, Our Last Night, Amaranthe, In Flames, The World Alive, August Burns Red, Dream on Dreamer, Arch Enemy, Powerwolf, Insomnium, Alestorm, Aephanemer, Miss I May, DangerKids, Kamelot, Skyfire
Try the acoustic version of Hickory Creek, if you thought the original packed a punch, you're in for a treat.
Hickory Creek is honestly one of the most emotionally vulnerable songs I’ve ever heard
Jinjer Perennial live from Wacken. If you haven't heard it.
If you haven't already heard them you should definitely check out some shadow of intent!! They're insanely unique and honestly can not be compared!!
there's been alot of heart break in his life and it's brought out the best in his vocals
Have you checked out any Slaughter to Prevail?
Fun fact: hickory creek has an acoustic version
