Excavator in deep trouble
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 бер 2015
- In february, a forwarder and a excavator sank in the wetlands in northern Sweden. The salvage turned out to be a complicated, dangerous and costly operation.
The plan to create a icy plateau in order to get the the necessary machines to the site had to be abandoned. Instead the forwarder and then the excavator was pulled out of the wetlands. The operation took several weeks to complete. - Наука та технологія

Used Excavator, lightly used, few scratches runs great!!!
Thank you for the natural sound and no 70's porn music!!!
I love all the planning and steel slides in the beginning, then ended with ahhh F it, just yank it out.
1:30 .... "Nobody TALK to me... i just want a hot COFFEE !!!"
Pressure washed and headed to Richie Brothers!
reynoldscs amen to that
Thank you for not playing all that stupid music that's in a lot of other videos.
Come on.....great video, but we could of seen the machine up-righted at the end.
+The Dishwasher Nothing new. They always do stupid stuff like this. Two days of filming, and then zip. Momoet does this all the time. But I get right on their case. And the camera man is so proud of his work.
+chocolate fish Very high smug. At least I`m not a chocolate fish.
Probably way too much damage to show. I mean they dragged it out on the cab lol. Not sure they had any better options. But for the money and time spent on extraction, I'm sure all the damage is embarrassing.
how many times, there are so many videos of heavy equipment in wet places they should not be in the first place?
None , they all had the right to be there . But wet lands are not always predictable
Do you think shell start?
Being bogged down few times myself but this one the best ever
Is thst just a big hole ? I mean how did it get in there. More importantly how r other machines not falling thru ??
If this seems bad, look at what Seattle had to go through. The tunnel boring machine they were using broke down deep under the downtown Seattle waterfront. They had to create a giant access hole to bring it to the surface to make repairs. $300 million dollars and two years later, it was finally fixed, and finally could continue on from the spot in which it broke.
Cor i got to look that up.
nice video1!
All that labour is worth more than that escavator is worth, not to mention its wrecked.
+CHRIS BROESKY Maybe they had no choice, it could be an environmental issue to leave an excavator in the water, and if they don't own the property they might be legally required to get it out of there.
The Eternal Hermit
Yes, you're correct! They are obligated to take it out since the fuel and other fluids can poison the area.
Not in Sweden. This is all about the environment.
Rafael Santana yup easy to flush and clean everything out replace seals and hoses and boom almost a new piece of equipment for a fraction of the cost of a new one
YIKES! Hate to see that bill.
One hell of a tow truck
Wow.....nice Video.......
It's really a massive excavator working site
2:43, that's alot of expensive steel at work there.
Why not the huge excavator with the magnet on it like the junk yard uses??
Thomas Broking ain't no magnet gonna lift 40,000 lbs..
Tôi thích bạn làm việc rất chăm chỉ
That must been a freezing experience.
Ba dum tsss
Tasks like this are never easy but these are the measure of men.
Luar biasa👍👍👍
DONT POST SOMETHING,IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO SHOW ALL OF IT....
You cut the ending off!
Probably cost 20K to pull it out and make it operational again.
iWork in the Alberta oilfeilds we run on muskeq this happens once in a while but there's a special insurance for this it even covers the cost of a rental replacement machine untill the sunk one is repaired it's worth every penny
Pure country Ron gggfcjlRnopkbnnRjki
i would of started by taking it apart.. i would of gotten close to it with a track crane and removed the boom first.. seeing how there was a diver there and all then the counter weight and likely it could of just been lifted out of the hole.. it broke my heart to see that thing get dragged out like that... lol
I bet they rebuilt 'er. Excavators that big ain't cheap, and provided it was shut down before going under water, it shouldn't be that hard to get it running again.
Maybe an older machine, a new one would be a pain with all the electrical systems. Would require all new wiring at the least.
Dieselman8v92 not really, most wiring on new equipment is all water sealed and protected yes you would have to replace seals, hoses and some electronic equipment but after a proper flush and service it would run like new
Wouldn't it have been cheaper just to cut losses and buy a new one?
That's what I was thinking, maybe they were forced to pull it out for environmental reasons.
Their wrecker is a hoss !
saya mau bikin hellicopter besar akh, untuk penyelamatan alat berat kaya gini..jwehehehehehe
ho do they know the cable won't snap?
Well that one is a write off!
The money they spent to retrieve that escavator they could have bought a new one
Easier, faster, safer and cheaper to use a big honkin' crane!
Everyone is an expert on internet.........
What does a crane capable of this lift way.
How are the roads and bridges in the middle of nowhere.
@@simonsms410 well, it needs to lift more than twice the excavator from at least 50m away. That is 4000 ton/meters. The biggest mobile crane in the world has approximately 3000 ton/meters capacity. It might work but it’s unlikely to get there and the earth works needed would be enormous to carry the load.

It have done before and it is even on youtube ;)

Good job, cool vid also. also your subscribers are big and hope you got a good life.... Bc I dont
nice job...now pay the tow trucks and the machinery involved and results cost more then that escavator whit no engine...
Rafael Santana probably more then that in Sweden
Rafael Santana : No , l recon about double the Rate (30,000) +
Mister Bacon -> The man power along may be in the ball park of $15K, but that doesnt included the cost of equipment and supplies used in the process. Its hard to make a good estimate without knowing the timeframe it took them to do it.
Environmental issue if they left it there, and as long as the unit was shutdown before it went in, pretty easy to clean it up and repair.
Super
Thank God it wasn't a 385
if it was a 385 it would of just had to stay there... lol
all was needed was big crane lift and place
I think it's gonna need a jump.
Why didn't they just get a crane in and then get the diver to attach the excavator to the crane. That would be cheaper and quicker
+finn conlon That`s what I was thinking. Hundred-toner could have done the job. The Cat does`t look like it will make it.
Arthur Bradley
Not a boat.
Excavator committed suicide cause you threatened to put one of those weird flat bottom spiny euro-trash digging buckets on it!
You Think, 😞
No !
Best place for a Cat POS
All you need is girls they will get there spoons and hairdryer out and get the excavator out in no time lol
B
Nice vedio .why no picture vedio in my pon
so badly done...
What about using a big helicopter to pull it out , l'm guessing that would have been a hell of a lot Cheaper huh ?
charles. stewart there's not a helicopter that can lift that machine let alone the extra force it would need to pull it out
Griffin Lober : well there should be , what is the Point of building big things , if it take two yearsto bloody get it upright , that is Stupid , ps l agree with you Charles. stewart.
Maybe Rafael they should build a Mi-30 to Lift 150,000 Ibs , l mean think about Costa Cordia it took two years to raise her & the Cost well , about a Billion or so , really that is a joke seriously .
charles. stewart ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥)♥
