O WOW Congrats on that awesome machine ....l like to think one day God said i need to make the most beautiful place on earth...An he called it TENNESSEE.....Thanks Nathan 👍
Re that last bit of video frorn that beautiful woods. I bet that you would give a lot to wander in one of Kentucky's long gone old growth forests. I know I would.
Watch for a couple grease fittings under the attachment lock levers. They lubricate the pins that lock the bucket/attachment to the plate. Easy to miss those 2. One for each lever.
Hi again, your closing shot shocked me, those woods are identical to some land we owned back in California, a place named Valley of the Moon in Crestline, it was land I loved and never wanted to go out of our family but these things happy, anyway it gave me such a powerful longing for my old home, not a bad memory at all, I hope someday to go back there
So awesome that KATO is doing exactly what you wanted. Congratulations again. Absolutely gorgeous closing that little stream looks like heaven on earth to me.
Nathan, You could put the log in the Kato Grapple and elevate it approx a foot and then you can saw the end of the log with out getting the saw chain in the dirt. I learned this from watching Mike Morgan and this a really cool idea. I love your new machine and it is going to help with your many chores.
Thanks for sharing with us Nathan, glad you got the right fittings and sure hope they work out for years to come. You'll get your moneys worth out of the new Track Loader. Stay safe and have fun with it. Fred.
Ever think of setting up bunks to keep your saw logs off the ground? Lay a couple smaller cedar logs parallel and about 7 ft apart. Lay your saw logs across them. They would still spalt if that was your goal but the bugs and constant soil moisture wouldn't infest and rot the down-side sapwood.
Track tension. Track tension adjustment is a big thing with any tracked vehicle. Long time Army tanker here. Also, be careful with your neutral steering. I saw those rubber tracks warping.
From personal experience, rubber tracks, especially on skid steers with high mount drivers, will flex a lot more than any steel track. Your point on maintaining correct track tension is still very valid.
hi there now that you have your new best tool I think you will find it a lot easier to cut logs off lifted up ; no bending over or rolling logs for the bottom cut , and a bonus keeps the chain out of the dirt , those loaders are a big game changer , good purchase john
Hey Nathan: I am a subscriber to Outdoors with the Morgans, Out of the Woods and Concrete with the Hauses. You just bought a skid Steer (okay, a track loader) , Tom on Concrete with the Hauses is getting Mike's old Wood-Mizer saw. So, now you all have skid steers and other construction equipment and tractors, and a Wood-Mizer Saw, I watched the latest episode of Out of the Woods and you were talking about your new skid steer. Unfortunately, it sounded like an episode from the Morgans. Just an observation. i know it is hard to come up with content every day, but be aware that it may be hard to differentiate between your three (3) shows in the future. ( I like all three shows) Reply
Hello Nathan, same here had 100 hp tractors on the farm, and traded for a new Bobcat T650 back in 2020 and it amazes me still with its power, we have a video of it bringing a huge Ash log way down over a hill, Take Care 🚜🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
What a great machine. Never heard of the company before. Enjoyed watching the last couple videos on it. No excuse now why you don't get that older stuff processed. Keep up the good work.
Wow, what a treat all of your drone shots are and this one was extra beautiful to me. More drone footage from you will always be welcomed by me! Congrats on the excellent new machine in your collection.
You made the right choice in using the hydraulic adapter but, the added length that's not supported like the stock fittings will add leverage to the coupling. IF you were to bump anything that extra leverage may come into play. You 'might' consider having a bracket fabricated to support that extra length like the stock bracket does. Fantastic addition, though! Nice machine. It's right for your place and what you do, too. Nice machines, plural...three machines, IF you include yourself! 😉 Excellent sawing, too. That Husqvarna runs great! Truly beautiful outro! That's amazing! Thanks, Nathan!
CTL's are the way to go! I had a chance on summer to use one with a tree shear. Amazing what one could do. With a grapple, it could pick up very large pine logs or doodles of thinned material larger than the machine. It will be interesting to see what the new Case DL-559 Minotaur will do - if one ever shows up. Husky 372's were my go-to saw. Good for all but the largest timber. I heard that they were discontinued now. Always used Stihl oil-o-matic chain. Using the Doyle scale, those logs should saw out 15-20% over.
Nice machine. Only thing is it seems a bit slow taking logs up to the mill from down the lower paddock. I think you may end up using the tractor with the other grapple if you have a few to move.
Is that machine sister cousin of IHI CL35 that camarata has.i do believe so ,it look like kato took over IHI Brand...that is awesome machine even though it is new to the USA market .I do believectgat they have a legendary yanmar diesel engine ....looking forward to see this machine in action.
LOVE The "x tough" bars - not just lighter but a faster cut too - they're slightly thinner than average bar. pair one with a full-chisel chain and watch out!
That track loader looks like a real nice handy machine. Instead of using adapters, could you have replaced the hydraulic couplers on the track loader with the Pioneer type?
The big difference is that the trackloader is fully hydraulic including movement, where the tractors moves mechanically through gearbox and hydraulics are "just for" auxiliary use...
congrats on the new machine. And not to criticize or anything but why the need for a compact track loader? I'm just curious what the CTL does that you cant get done between the 3 other tractors you got. Again not criticizing, I'm not one to begrudge anyone a new toy, just curious.
Brother your new track loader are bloody brilliant. Better ride more stable when you operate. When I was the works and facilities manager for Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council I bought a track loader for council bloody great machine. But the greatest set back for the machine at around every 500 hours we had to replace tracks expensive. And about every 750 hours you have to replace the road wheels. I don't know how quick you are going to put hours on your machine but please track's sprockets and road wheels are a. Big kick in the wallet. In the end council got rid of ours and went back to a wheel machine
I had a chance to run a wheeled Bobcat, that thing beat the bejesus out of me. The track loader looks more planted and stable, like it will be easier on your body.
Back about 30 years ago, I ran a Kato track hoe. It was the most clumsy and slowest machine I had ever run, but it was also the strongest. That thing was a beast. Love your videos Nathan.
Do you have any problems with bugs in those old log piles? I'm having a lot of trouble with old piles ( 7mts - 1yr) getting carpenter ants, grubs and termites. Any advice how to deal with it? Thanks and I really like your new machine.
You can't just change the flat face on the track loader to pioneer??? Or is the adapter cheaper??? Either way there's lots of stickout with the adapter and I'd be afraid to break it off.
Maybe he is thinking about warranty? The big advantage with "flatface" is keeping the hydraulic fluid clean. The female pioneer is a champion when it comes to collecting dirt. Or that is my experience...
Adapter used in video: amzn.to/3LvUh2V
Grease Gun from video: amzn.to/3n7h7o7

Where'd you get the magnetic firewood gauge?

Great looking machine. Track loader just feels so much more stable than a tractor when carrying a heavy log.
Nice grapple choice too
thanks Brock
Thanks for showing your safety measures, sends a gentle reminder to all viewers.
I like your new toy you have . Hope you have a blessed day.
Congrats on the new machine. And thank you Sir. Always a pleasure!

New toy!
I’m really impressed with the Kato, other than I giggle every time I say Kate, buts it’s living up to its reputation

👍👍
I told you that you would like it. If you need to get forks more moving pallets I suggest you get the one with hydraulics and 60 inc long forks.
So glad your new equipment is doing well for you. Great video, by the way…
👍👍👍
Thanks!
Thanks Dale!
Great new machine. I really liked the ending you put in todays show. Beautiful country.
Take care,

Glad you found a less expensive option for changing the hoses.
Looks like the equipment barn is getting bigger. Enjoy your new toy. Hello from Fla.
Great Job there Out of the Woods, using the track loader to cut the logs to size.. she will be a helper around the farm..
Nathan you are a 44 year old boy with a beautiful new toy. Thank you for sharing with us.
Way cool! Thanks for the ride.

Hey Nathan I really do like your new machine (Kato). Looks like a really good one. That Husky saw is a really good one too. Cool video. 👍❤️
thanks Don
Nice piece of equipment Nathan and it's good to see nothing blew up!
Thanks 👍👍
Wonderful wandering at the end, thank you for letting us see this beautiful place
Tracks are a game changer, you will love it. Watch your ears, that noise can sneak up on you.
👍
One thing that I didn't hear you mention is with the skid-steer the load is right in front of you versus 5 to 6' out of sight on the tractor.
agreed.

I Operated KATO for years, Good choice.
What a great new man toy, you have, Nathan. 😊
Ty
Very nice. I can't wait to be able to move logs around soon
Looks like that happened today for ya
@@nathanelliott9013 yeah, it’s awesome. And now it’s supposed to rain for the next 7 days 😭
Glad you're enjoying the new machine, Nathan. Thought i was early to this video, but 3340 views in the first hour. Congratulations!
Thanks 👍👍
How do you like the cab?
The absolute best thing is the loader is so much shorter and maneuverable.
😂😂👍👍👍
I knew you would like it 😊😊
I was looking at them after you were showing it off 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Well produced. Great content!
Thanks
Chain saw's kicken butt!! :-)
It looks like your new favorite tractor is going to be a really good addition to your rolling stock inventory.
Happy for you on the new machine. It’s a good fit! Hang in there.
Nice machine. Only thing is it seems a bit slow taking logs up to the mill from down the lower paddock. I think you may end up using the tractor with the other grapple if you have a few to move.

I'm guessing that it's also easier to see the grapple and work with it on the loader than it is on the tractor.
Bill
THAT SKID LOADER SHOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO MOVING THOSE LOGS AROUND.
LOVE The "x tough" bars - not just lighter but a faster cut too - they're slightly thinner than average bar. pair one with a full-chisel chain and watch out!
Another enjoyable relaxing video.
That track loader looks like a real nice handy machine. Instead of using adapters, could you have replaced the hydraulic couplers on the track loader with the Pioneer type?
Yeah maybe. But I have attachments also just for the track loader and they are flat faced
The saw was almost like a Kazoo playing along with the music... 🙂@15:06
You need to paint a picture of the Bruce Lee character from the "Green Hornet" on the side of your track loader. He was the greatest Kato of all time!
Haha like it
I second the motion!
Use the grappler to pick up , Then cut it to size,Take it to mill!!Save yourself time!!
The big difference is that the trackloader is fully hydraulic including movement, where the tractors moves mechanically through gearbox and hydraulics are "just for" auxiliary use...
Great scenes at end
Nice new piece of equipment. Just wondering why when you cut logs down to size you don’t cut off 1/2 from each end just in case there is checking?
A great setup Nathan,,,Easy is what you want..well a garage for that,,,oh yeah
congrats on the new machine. And not to criticize or anything but why the need for a compact track loader? I'm just curious what the CTL does that you cant get done between the 3 other tractors you got. Again not criticizing, I'm not one to begrudge anyone a new toy, just curious.
Next on the list, get ya a mini excavator 👍🏼
Looks like the Kato will serve you well around the farm.
That drone shot through the forest was beautiful Nathan.
Nathan i like all your toys i bet you had Tonka trucks growing up.
Brother your new track loader are bloody brilliant. Better ride more stable when you operate. Can you adjust the hydraulic flow on your new skid steer loader the grapple looks like its moving to fast and that can be hard on the cylinders.
I suspect a couple of your tractors are going to be sitting idle and envious of your new compact track loader.
I had a chance to run a wheeled Bobcat, that thing beat the bejesus out of me. The track loader looks more planted and stable, like it will be easier on your body.
So what tractor is going away? Do you really need 3?
I appreciate the grapple cam
That Kato is a nice addition to your repertoire. A great pity to have to saw those logs down :(
That last forest drone segment looked like Pamelia Creek in the Cascade Mountains in Oregon.
Nathan your programs are very entertaining I’ve been watching quite a while now but lately they’ve moved on somewhat 👏👏👏👍👍👍
Use that track loader to hold the logs up so you lessen the chance of grounding the saw blade.
You did just that as I clicked comment. 👍
I wonder if you can adjust the flow control to slow the clamping down a bit? If there is a flow control.
Back about 30 years ago, I ran a Kato track hoe. It was the most clumsy and slowest machine I had ever run, but it was also the strongest. That thing was a beast. Love your videos Nathan.
Nice work 👍🪵🪵🪵❤😊

Great video, nice new track loader
Im now certain, so correct me if Im wrong, but here in the UK, I think the waste is on the customer.
Do you have any problems with bugs in those old log piles? I'm having a lot of trouble with old piles ( 7mts - 1yr) getting carpenter ants, grubs and termites. Any advice how to deal with it? Thanks and I really like your new machine.
Nathan, great videos, have you stopped sawing slabs, haven't seen much of them lately. Is there still a strong market for them?
Not as often as I was
I really liked this video
Thanks buddy
Nice Machine!
ty
You can use your new machine to lift the logs high enough that you can save your back muscles when you are trimming them.
Yes
Have you mentioned anything about the cab?
Can you set logs directly onto the mill with the new machine?
A skid steer will never disappoint!! 🙂
agreed
Great work as always 😃😃
Nice to see a Dewalt guy, All of my battery tools are Dewalt
Nathan, does the seat safety bar, on the track loader, have a lockout, to
keep the controls from working, until it is lowered?
Yes
You can't just change the flat face on the track loader to pioneer??? Or is the adapter cheaper???
Either way there's lots of stickout with the adapter and I'd be afraid to break it off.

Nathan, are the attachments, for loaders, tractors, etc, on a universal attaching system?
Yes
You got a rich mom and dad or did you win the lottery or something? Brand new tractors and skid steers.......holy moly
I haven't read the manual on that machine, but I'm sure there's a section that says you're not supposed to be having that much fun.
lol
liked the video. you've a good eye for framing views. At end.
Thanks 🙏
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice. Machine. So what do you have now for machines
That grapple reminds me of a snapping turtle.
😂👍👍
More like a ninja😂
Hi Nathan, you better quit working on the timber frame and start putting up a large equiment shed for all this fancy new gear.
Do they make chainsaw bar's with painted measurements on them
