I went to basic training and couldn’t have them and realize how much better life is without them. 15 years later, I haven’t touched an energy drink since.
Now, I just drink decaffeinated coffee in the morning and the occasional soda once a week or 2 weeks.

@@AddictionMindset I don't know how or why I became addicted to caffeine. I never drink coffee or tea. I had an alcohol and nicotine addiction which I kicked three years ago so my guess is my addictive personality has something to do with it. Anyways, my anxiety and depression has become almost unmanageable, I'm an avid soccer player and my stamina and endurance has decreased dramatically. I'm basically afraid of running too hard for fear of a stroke or heart attack. I haven't had a good night's sleep in a long time. And it's a very expensive habit!

I was at exactly the same place and could easily drink a coffee in the morning before school and in the rest of the day drink 2-3 monster energy drinks, which would really keep me back in fat loss (I'm an amateur bodybuilder).
At the moment I'm 2 weeks clean from energy drinks and only drink an espresso with 0 sugar in the morning and don't plan to go back to energy drinks.
It really made me have more energy, not feel ''bored'' so easily and helped me in my bodybuilding journey!
I'm not planning on going back that's for sure!

The idea of ending up in hospital and not being able to feed my addiction while trying to get better, and suffering in silence because I am too ill to tell my nurses, was such a scary thought that I stopped my addiction cold turkey the day that this thought scenario entered my head.
Now, should I fall gravely ill (which is just one car accident away, actually…), I will have my full strength intact in order to battle my way back to health. And I won’t have to suffer doubly in silence, because of withdrawal symptoms that my doctors aren’t even aware of.
When I quit, the withdrawal was bad, but my surroundings could support me mentally and practically because I could talk about it. I got through it, and I am NEVER going back! You could cut down gradually, which suits some, but for me that was just drawing out the suffering unnecessarily long, and risking falling back into the addiction again, frankly.
I hope you find the courage to stop the way that suits you, and do tell your surroundings about it, so that you can get their sympathy and support! Best of luck!

My favorite was the white Monster to! 🥴 lol. I would have 3 a day, wake and bake, you name it (no alcohol in 2 years though 👍).
I’m on day 4 without any weed, and decided to give up the energy drinks also. My anxiety is bad enough with the weed withdrawal but I staying committed and yeah detoxing sucks but if anyone is reading this.. hang in there! You’re not crazy, you’re recovering.
I felt so disconnected from reality, the anxiety is crippling at times.. but one thing I haven’t heard Dr. Frank talk about yet is replacing anger and/or irritability with empathy towards others, and most importantly, yourself.
    Thank you Dr. Frank

Ohh yeah, I started drinking energy drinks and coffee when I was a teenager, I think when I was about 16. I'm 27 now and I'm finally making the decision to give up energy drinks and coffee and all caffeine. I don't mind coffee but the energy drinks definitely have to go.
The thing that definitely has made it harder for me to quit is just not feeling like I have enough energy without them. Doesn't help that when I don't drink them at work, I get comments from people suggesting I'm not working fast enough.
But yeah energy drinks have got to go. Besides always feeling tired, I'm also struggling to lose weight. I'm worried that I may be diabetic or pre diabetic (probably because of the insulin thing you mentioned), and I checked my blood pressure and I was in hypertension. I've had my eyes randomly twitch before. I have had bad chest pain. It also makes me feel more anxious. There's so much that energy drinks have done to destroy my physical and mental health, its time for a change.

I quit back in the beginning of april 2020 . before that my blood pressure was at 110, had muscle twitching, a horrendous sleeping schedule and depression. had been drinking two a day for about 3 and a half years and I honestly were just sick of them. I told myself that i could only drink one a day. Later i switched to only half a glass a day. The day when I was suppose to only have half i glass I only took one sip. after that i poured it out. later that day after school when I got back home I noticed that I still had one can of monster left. I thought to myself well...one last can can't hurt..right? then i remembered all the side effects that came along with them and how little they had actually helped me with really anything, so i poured is all out. That was the last energy drink in my house. Now i mostly drink tea and carbonated water. Besides! energy drinks are super expensive here in Sweden, so i saved a ton of money by quitting them. My tips to anyone that's trying to quit, start of easy and set boundaries when it comes to your consumption of energy drinks and slowly but surely consume less and less of them and try something new such as tea or flavored water. This video was great and everything you said in it hopefully makes alot of people take the step towards a healthier lifestyle. You will feel so much better once you stop drinking them trust me, from a former energy addict to you.

I’m Swedish too, although I live abroad and I am in the same exact situation. I’ve been addicted to Red Bull specifically for a few years and I drink everything from 3 to 5 a day. living abroad it’s been way cheaper for me to sustain this lifestyle which definitely has not served me. I have the same symptoms with severe muscle spasms in every section of my body, eye twitching, heart palpitations I mean the list goes on. it’s been hard for me to identify if this has been from the Red Bull or if I am developing ms or some other neurological disorder which is a terrible feeling. watching this video and reading this comment gave me a lot of insight of how bad it really is and also a bit of relief that this most probably is from the Red Bull. I will try my hardest to quit and pray that the symptoms goes away with the Red Bull. thanks for spreading the awareness. much love
