I prefer the Ford but don’t think you can go wrong with any of these trucks today.
Forget your bias and loyalty. When you sit in and drive a Ram it’s a different ball game. Interior is Mercedes quality and the ride and feel is second to none.
Anyone who drives one will buy one...but fanboy Chevy and ford blood runs deep..as a ford tech I don't advise buying one...have been burned by friends and family many times..ford can't survive the internet s.m. generation. People share the bad experience..in real time
True I wanted a Ford ended up buying a ram 1500 the interior and smooth ride sold me 😂
My 15 ram still rides smoooooth
Just looks like more overpriced dog s no matter what brand you go with.
I’m RAM through and through but the price of these trucks are ridiculous now.
One thing is a lock they are all way too much money.
Keeping my 19 hemi classic... sometimes less is better
My 2018 RAM Laramie Limited 3.0L Turbo Diesel has 290,000 miles on the odometer. I am keeping it even though I have ordered a new RAM 3.0L in-line-six.
Ram has the best update (for an interior, at least), but I think the Chevy would have to be my pick between these three.
Ram is killing it the one in the video doesn't have the Digital Dash but the upper trim levels do
I can live without the digital dash and a lot of this nonsensical tech crap. That said, my new, on-order RAM will have all of that crap whether I like it or not.
Ram to me has the best interior rotary shifter makes more room for cup holders and slide mora storage best looking outside
Coil suspension not leaf springs
I wish it was little lighter, had 2021 ram 1500 ecodiesel longhorn limited 10th anniversary edition
3 years of driving once did Chicago from north jersey almost made it there one fillup
Not to mention so comfortable no tired back or anything
I believe ram has the best seats.
Ram has the best truck, it’s just overpriced.
@luism8130 yeah I would buy one if the price was better.
I’d buy a ford gt if the price was better 😂
@@benjaminbrown7127 we always want toys we can't afford 😪
Nope Chevy has the best seats
For the best ride feeling, the Ram wins it easily, I have to wait and see how reliable the new Hurricane engine will be on the Ram
The new RAM with the Hurricane engine does perform nicely - I drove a 2025 the other day - in the end, I chose a Ford F150 with 3.5 Ecoboost. Why? The Ford products use BOTH Port and Direct Injection - so that the PORT injection washes the back of the intake valves with fuel and effectively keeps the valves from accumulating hardened Carbon deposits - which is a problem with Direct Injection Only engines such as the RAM employs. Over time, Direct Injection only will result in crusty Carbon buildup on the backside of the intake valves, which has been shown over countless car manufacturers to negatively impact performance, fuel economy, and engine idling. Ford takes the extra step and cost of including a dual injection system, with the PORT injection situated above the intake valves, utilized to keep the valves clean and the engine and fuel economy running at optimal performance over the long run.
Ram's Hurricane engine is relatively new to the Chrysler/Jeep/RAM lineup. It has only been out for 2 years utilized in the Jeep Grand Wagoneer..... and there aren't many of those sold and on the road to give an accurate feel of reliability with any confidence. The version of Hurricane utilized in the RAM trucks is indeed NEW, because it is tuned and some internal parts are different than the Jeep version, and tailored for the RAM. So, in my mind..... if you buy a 2025 RAM truck with the Hurricane engine.... you are a guniea pig for this new engine..... never a good idea to be a first adopter of a new vehicle period - especially when a new engine/drivetrain are introduced. There are always bugs that take at least 3 model cycles to work out.
As an example: Ford's 3.5 eco boost had timing chain failures and cam phaser failures in it's introductory configuration..... they didn't redesign a 'fix' for these problems until the 2nd generation of the engine, which was 3 years (if I am not mistaken) after it was first introduced. I wouldn't touch a Gen 1 series 3.5 Ecoboost with a 10 foot pole. However, the timing chains were redesigned, as was the cam phaser, and now those issues have been reportedly remedied, and you rarely see owners of the new Generation Engine reporting issues with it.
Actually the original hurricane engines existed on the jeepsters in South America we had one in 1970! Of course nowadays it’s high tech back then it was carbureted. Was a reliable and a straight 6 was a torque beats for its time
none they are all way overpriced.
Ben Hardy, Your videos always brighten my day, so I subscribed!
I’d go for the Ford, most American in my opinion. GM builds some of the Silverados and engines in Mexico. RAM motors are sourced out of Mexico. I think all the F150’s are assembled in the USA. Even all the Rangers are assembled in the USA. So for that Ford gets my money 😎🇺🇸
Bingo. Quality control, safety and material are unmatched in US. It’s the engineering that’s questionable.
Most GM V8's are built at their Tonawanda plant in New York state. Most of their crew cab half-tons are built in Indiana. All GM midsize trucks built in Missouri with engines from Tennessee. All GM HD trucks in Michigan and Duramax engines in Ohio. Ford's high output 3.5EB is made in Mexico. Raptors have only like 50% domestic content last time I looked. The 6.7 Powerstroke plant is in Mexico.
@OutdoorCanadians like the F-150 powerboost with the heat exchanger on the exhaust that leaks coolant because they couldn't resist the urge to make a big part of it plastic and it warps and leaks (who would have thought!). Or their updated 5.0 and 2.7 ecoboost with oil pump belts that require removing timing chains to change it. Turns into a huge expense because they couldn't resist routing the belt in the worst way possible.
Ford by far has the most recalls! It’s not even close
@@hochhaul removing timing chains is splitting atoms now huh
I was a ford guy for years but they tried to get me into an eco boost and I just couldn't do it. I've had 2 rams since and I love them
And now Ford has by far the best V8 offered in a truck and Ram has a 6cyl.
@michaelhuber6405 yep. Whe. I bought my ram Ford wanted 5k more for the coyote so I couldn't justify 1 more year of payments. I would be open to reconsider now. I do love my ram though. Awesome interior.
If i was going to buy a new truck id buy the new RAM.
I want a f150 regular cab with a v8
If I still wanted a half-ton, I'd sick with Ram. But, since I want to tow something bigger than a utility trailer, I got a Super Duty.
I would agree with your findings. I drove a new f150 last week and did not find it as planted or stable as the Ram.
Thank you for echoing what I've been trying to tell people about the RAM and Chrysler products in general. There's an intangible feeling hostility and being planted
Yes it's a downside to a lighter aluminum truck especially when the rearend of a pickup is already light.
No brainer here! RAM by a mile!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I would go with the Chevy just because of the blue but the front end of the Ram riely good too
Insane cars Ben !! ❤❤
Interior 1. Ram, 2. Chevy, 3. Ford. Exterior 1. Ram, 2. Ford, 3. Chevy. With that being said it doesn’t matter, fan boys will buy what they buy.
I agree ☝️- but what do you think about the engine or more so the reliability?
@@rjmendoza we can reliably say the Ram will have a missing cam lobe or broken exhaust bolts within a year or two.
if i were to buy a new truck just on looks alone i like the Ford, and i also like its power options , 3.5 is a beast of an engine, but that 5.0 is a beauty as well. Definitely wouldn't even consider a dodge yes i know ram , but the between the chev and ram id probably take the ford🤷🏼
Ford ruined the 5.0 in 2021. Now it's cylinder deactivation, broken valves and springs, and oil pump belts.
I'm looking at these as my next truck. Any chance of getting the towing capabilities when you're giving the payload info? Good videos as always
Like ram 1500 and 2500 and 3500 and 4500 and 5500 ram best line up
most buyers don't want a Frankentruck. Thus Ram buyers are in the minority.
Chassis crack easly. Dond hold to much weight. Said all Tow companies
Hi ben hows the chevy heavier construction the all steel body or something else
Having a Ram 1500 ‘19, with the hemi V8 driving at the 3000 feet above sea level delivering parts to paint and body shops in the area, would the new ram w/turbos work just as well as higher elevations? plus i sometimes tow a trailer with roughly 6k pounds couple times a week
I'm taking the Chevy. Just a solid truck. The rest are nice though.
Those engines are by far the worst though. Horrible
I have the new 2025 ram 1500 big horn black on black with the hurricane and the hurricane is stupid fast 0 turbo lag and you can’t keep the tires on the ground
you should have purchased a Charger.
Don’t race any ecoboosts lol especially the 2.7 😂
@@OutdoorCanadians FP700 or Roush supercharger on the 5.0 and it will eat the Eco for lunch.
@@TheComingGlory well sure, there’s always a faster car out there. We’re talking about a truck that keeps up with cars though 😂
@OutdoorCanadians That is for the F150 truck, not a car.
The ram must be good as they have a two year supply sitting on sale lots
So does ford....but ram is most reliable 3 years in a row. Google who makes the most reliable light duty truck
Not quite, my dealer still does not have as much inventory as they did pre covid. People just have a short memory and are still used to seeing half empty or empty car lots.
Not a Chevy fan, but if these are the only options I will take the V8 over the turbo 6s.
I agree. At least with the v8 a buyer will know what their getting
3.5 ecoboost is a solid engine.
Ford still has the 5.0 V8
@@MrApiiinr and if it were included in the comparison that would have been my choice..
@@MrApiiinryeah with an oil pump belt that costs several grand to replace.
Same here I'm a Ram fan... when it comes to ride quality none compare to the Ram however I hate 6 cyl' in trucks so much I'll take the GM with the V8...Ram made a huge mistake not having the Hemi as at least an option.
Going with the Ford, more payload and towing specific technology plus standard 36 gallon tank. I'd probably go for the 5.0 V8. Once you tow, the fuel economy advantage of the turbos evaporates.
Yeah but the torque and hp stays. With the max torque around 2k rpms.
Oil pump belt on the 5.0 is a deal breaker.
Eco boosts are either eco or boost, never both. But the raw torque of the 3.5 ecoboost in lightyears ahead of the V8
@@brianfisher2446 the 2.7 gets more torque faster too! If they were to race it would be 3.5HO, 2.7, 3.5, 5.0
@@hochhaulthey all have it
I bought the Silverado!
Ford had the best looking truck before the refresh. Now GMC has Stolen the crown.
We ordered a Ram 1500 (Limited) but we're kinda Dodge loyalists so it was a no-brainer for us. Good review!
Dodge loyalist hey, I hate to break the news, but Dodge has had zero to do with RAM’s since 2010. They have been made by Chrysler since the two brands split into seperate brands.
I have a new RAM on order. I have had three excellent and reliable RAMs with the Hemi, and my 2018 RAM has a 3.0L Turbo Diesel. My new one will have a Bi-turbo 3.0L in-line-six. I wouldn't say I liked the transmission Dial initially but I got used to it quickly, and my wife's Chrysler 300 has the same dial selector. It is out of the way and I have more usable space in/on the console.
Only concern about the Ram is the 3.0 engine especially the high output version is reliability. I feel like the engine should be bigger like maybe 3.6 to 4.0
Everyone has their favorite truck but for me in the midwest the Aluminum body is the deciding factor.
Not a fan of a V6 in a full size truck. Thanks for the video!
I believe the ram wins on the lighter truck but ford is not that far behind. When it comes to a work horse I would say stick with ford.
I've been trading up every 3 years on my birthday gotten a new Ram sense 1987 , my 1500 ram 5.7 Hemi now is a 2020 and i didn't trade it yet because I'm waiting to see how the new In line 6 cyl preforms , I will probably Trade in march 2025 . I've been living full time in my 2020 Jayco off grid 99% and tax free . I bought this 1500 Ram and my Jayco 195 RB the same day march 2020 .I've pulled This Jayco single axle to 37 states and on my 3 set of tires . Good camper
Waiting to see this comparison with the new ram and the ford
No low range in the Silverado? What’s that about?
Never pictured Micheal Cera as a truck guy... 😄
Ram🤙
The symphony of the V8> the more powerful TT V6. 🤩🤩
RAM
Tough. Tough. Tough. All three are nice trucks. For me, buying a 1/2 ton is about the function of towing a small camper and hauling camping gear with the potential of having a slightly larger camper in a few years, so it is about payload. I would like to have north of 1800 lbs of payload. From an aesthetics perspective, I am 61 and chrome belongs in the 1970s! ;) In this test, I would choose the F150. If I were ordering my own truck, I prefer the exterior lines and interior trim of the Ram 1500 if I could get it with 1800 lbs of payload. Ultimately, I could be happy with any of these trucks (I am not brand loyal) and it would come down to price and value.
All are great trucks but I prefer the RAM lineup.
I'm just being bias, but I love my Ford😁
The Duke says, Stellantis is currently in the process of moving production of their trucks from Michigan to Mexico. Think about that. Where is your loyalty? To the United States or elsewhere?
What did I teach you?
Super Duty is the favorite of the commercial world. Trucks and Van's are Ford's world now. Super Duty is Ford's crown jewel. The 3/4 ton segment is more competitive.
Configurations, engine choices, and capacity to do work are Ford's advantages.
At 130k miles my pre-Covid F-150 10 speed is still as smooth as butter. I would go with Ford but the Hurricane engine is the best one of the 3. Time for Ford to come up with something new with No phasers....
Which one more comfortable, reliable and easy to drive? Of course I am talking about V8
Ram... not even a contest.
F150 for sure. Love mine.
I'm considering a '25 Ram Rebel, a Silverado ZR2 or a GMC AT4. So torn right now!
I would go with the Silverado because it’s naturally aspirated if it weren’t for the fact that it makes you buckle before you shift. I don’t mind buckling before I shift out of park, I do that anyway, I just don’t want to be stranded when that buckle sensor fails. So all in all I would probably go with the ford but with the 5.0
That's a setting in the options. You can turn it off.
all the city boys who need nothing more for payload then for sports gear will pick the ram . If you need a truck to be a truck for carrying or towing the only choice here is the ford. The other 2 are just suvs with an uncovered cargo area.
They way Ford cuts the driver and passenger windows down for the mirrors is ridiculous. Also the Rake on the Ford is way too much. Chevy seats are too small and way too stiff. Drove a Ram once and it was smooth, great storage. May go with Ram my next purchase. But a '24 with the Hemi.
I’d still I’d stick with the non-turbo. I don’t trust these twin turbos at all.
Ram gets this year. BMW b58+zf8 is the single best powertrain the world has to offer. Hurricane engine is a straight copy of B58 with twin turbos, the transmission is the same. You are basically buying a m4/x5 in a pickup’s form depends on how you look at it. No contest for now until Chevy or ford get their hands inline 6
Ben, I don't think you'll respond but I'll ask anyway, both the Ford and Dodge RAM have the optional knob for reverse backing when towing.... Chevy is lacking in that dept, do you foresee Chevy finally getting something like that?
Probably
Ram nation my boi
Ford looks better to me on the outside and ram interior is better then them all. Chevy you can just take it back. Lol
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Chevy looks a decade behind the times
Ram has poor payload compared to the Ford and Chevy
The F-150 has looked like 💩 since 2021
@luism8130 guys like you that say sht like that are also the same ones whining about truck prices being too high without understanding that prices are high because of all the updates, upgrades, and redesigns.
The analog gauges look much more premium in the Dodge.
Dodge ?🤣🤣🤣🤣 Dodge has had nothing to do with RAM for approx 14 years dude. Where have you been ? 😂😂
Yeo I like the Dodge guages too. The new Dodge front end is very nice too.
I'm taking a Dodge all day long and with the new 3.0 l twin turbo it has the most horsepower and torque and gets the best gas mileage sad to see the hemi go but they race the hemi versus the new 3.0 l and of course the turbocharged won
Ford F-Up when they got rid of the LED DRLs on the XLT.. the new front is underwhelming
I love the new Ram design but should’ve kept the V8 Hemi
It will be a glorious day when GM gets rid of that 5.3.
Its looking like theyre finalky updating their V8 engines though, investing almost $1 billion into new generation of V8s
RAM!!
They are all nice, but I would have to go with the ford.
Ford and Ram are great, if you like bouncing around and constantly feeling like you’re on a bouncy road. Chevy drives and acts like a Cadillac even if it won’t handle as big a load.
V-8 for trucks that means Chevy wins also v-8 more reliable
Chevy looks the best. I personally do not like the looks of the Rams.
F150 but a single cab
These class comparisons are ridiculous lol
What about the true American truck, Tundra
Ford for me
Apples to pears to peaches lol
All 3 are good trucks but all 3 have things that don't make them feel finished enough for this price range.
Nothing against them as I like and dislike something about each ...
would pick ram just cause I'm ok with less tech and more finish but lol $60+k and no bed linear is a sad to see
I feel like ram has made the best trucks for a long time now but they have went from the most affordable to the most expensive and it kills me. I guess that’s what happens when you keep racking up all the Truck of The Year awards 🥲
I hardly see any ram work trucks. Seems like folks have started to forego their kids college for truck payments these days so no slowing down in sight 🤦🏽♂️
@@OutdoorCanadiansMaybe people are finally starting to wake up to the scam that college is
@@OutdoorCanadians loads of RAM work trucks where I’m at lol. Police departments use RAM, towing companies, car haulers, and most local companies. I do agree that everything is way too expensive now tho
Ram. Not into techy gadgetry on cars. I want the engine and the refinement. Guess that's Ram?
The Chevy looks the best but I would just change the rims
Ben, why don’t you put all V8 with V8 trucks not V6 don’t make any sense
It looks like GM/Chevy interior is designed by someone who's not sure of the look they want. It's a bit of a design mess.
I use my trucks for actual work so I need the payload. That automatically takes the junk dodge out of the picture. Chevy interior looks outdated and seats are trash . I’ll take the comfortable ride /interior and capability/performance of the Ford F-150 🇺🇸
I noticed the side mirrors on the f150 are alot smaller (less visibility), i think the chevy is ugly exterior wise, i like the dash and cluster of the chevy and ford. I know ram has issues with the rear window leaks, unless they finally resolved it. I like the looks of the ram best, then f150, chevy is ugly, for 60k you get an LT with a bench seat and 17" wheels, no fog lights....these trucks should only be 40-50 grand tops! But unfortunately like everything else in this country right now, prices are inflated.
Whichever offers good solid murican v8
The inline 6 is wayy more capable of the v8 is still on the past
@@allstar2709V8 is Naturally aspirated and will last longer than any turbo engine.
Do you ever stop?? 😅
Nooooo
For me , all 3 modern trucks in this test lack dependability. Be it , engine, transmission, electronics. Each 1 of those bring my decision to this . Just buy the cheapest P.O.S. truck. Because they are all the same. May as well just get the best price & talk about that.
And its long overdue for Gm to rid itself of it's tired lackluster 5.3v8😅
Nothing wrong wirh v8. Need to bring them back
All three had outlets in bed not just the Chevy
Pick your poison, for me F150
Chevy looks so sharp
I don’t trust modern GM vehicles, so if I’m purchasing, I’m starting swaying from it. On a lease, the Silverado leases out the best (even if barely). The last time I tested the F-150, which was 2 weeks ago, we felt the tech was gimmicky. It was like driving a rolling iPhone. I might gamble and go with the Ram. They seem to have very comfortable rides for what I’d use it for and while I’ve been wary of the quality of some Stellantis products, everyone I know who has owned a RAM over the last 10 years has had no real major problems. In reality, I’d only go Toyota, of of the American 3, let’s pretend RAM is American and I’ll go with them.
Number one in reliability 3 years in a row
They will rot on the lot. Nice vehicles but way too overpriced for what they are supposed to be. A work truck. Lmao average car payment now is nine hundred to eleven hundred dollars at zero percent interest😮
None in this lineup, the Tesla Cybrtrk, especially the Beast beats this trucks any day , especially when it comes to 1/4 mile and efficiency, and no need for GAS🚫🛑⛽..😂
