I'm very happy with Amsoil. I've even noticed that the "Hemi Tick" seems to be alot quieter with Amsoil over using Royal Purple and Mobile1... in my use of all three
Back in the day pennsoil use to use parrifan wax as a ingredient. I assume they stopped. You could always tell a penn engine. You take valve cover off and it would be caked with wax sometimes in shape of valve cover

There is a reason not to pre-fill the oil filter. The center of most spin on oil filters is the clean side. So if you happen to pour a bit of dirt, or foil from the bottle cap in there, it's going straight to the engine. I have seen a bit of foil plug a piston oiling hole and cause major damage. It's better to pour oil into the dirty side and give the filter a chance to do it's job.
Speedy, NAPA wants 12 bucks a quart! Seems insane to me when I can use Mobil !. This is my first oil change too!
Another great video Speedy! That oils is a little pricey sometimes. I take my Hellcat to my Goid friends house because he has every tool imaginable. I bought him the Exact Race ramps as a gift and they are Awesome!👍😎
Castrol 0W40 at Walmart. Made in Belgium euro. Check Bob's oil forum.
Its what used to use in the Scat Pack Challenger. Fine with me. Cheap at Wally World!
I've been using Mobil One 0W40 in my Challenger since it was new. Never had any problems.
There's a guy on the Hellcat forum that sells an access cover with a template to install in the stock belly pan so you can drain the oil cooler without removing those 17 fasteners to completely remove the stocker.
It's a great mod. He doesn't have one that will work on the redeye though. Break cooling vents in the way.

I use Amsoil in my Redeye. But that’s me. Everyone has their oil they like and to each his own but my personal and only my personal feeling is Amsoil is the best oil out there. But like I said, whatever you like, I don’t knock anyone for using other products. Whatever makes them happy! 👍
Amsoil is GREAT oil, it's just overkill for my rides. They only see about 3,000 miles a year.
Same with my cars. Both my 68 Camaro and Redeye only see 3-5k miles a year. I just have always used it in everything I own down to my Jeep cj7, off-road machines and even my lawnmower Lol.
I miss watching you 🔧 on orange crush instead of doing oil changes and tunes on a hellcat.
I miss that car but it's crazy how much faster the Hellcat is and how much easier things are.
Watching your videos for a long time now and when it comes to adding performance I feel you really know what your talking about. Long story short. I have a 6.4 challenger and I'm tired of having these new 5.0 mustangs pull away from me on the road. Thought about adding a new intake, throttle body, long tube headers and borla attack exhaust. How much horsepower do you believe this would add and would it be worth the investment.
Honestly, it's probably not worth it. If you want to a faster car I'd look for a gently used Hellcat then those pesky Mustangs won't stand a chance LOL.
Should go with Amsoil, is a little bit on the expensive side but is a super good oil
I guess I got lucky, purchased my oil from dealer for my HC 2016 and I'm positive that I paid 4.99 per quart bottle because I purchased 2 boxes of them.
I got the oil filter from Walmart OEM and purchased 1 viper oil filter since it fits the HC at the dealer
But I use Mobil 1 for everything else

So hash marks facing inboard or toward the engine when checking the oil? I asked the dealer about that, they just looked at me. My 2018 Widebody also has the Hellcat and SRT cast in the pan. Keep it up, very informative.

My engine cap say mobile.. but the dealer used penzzoil.
Yep, it's all in the contracts between the companies. Dodge also changed the MS-XXXXX requirements when they changed contracts further confusing things LOL.
Literally JUST crawled out from under my car....

I had to work the other day while my brother was making 18 passes at Cecil County Dragway with his TA working on trying to get on the top ten list ten spot for NA stock 392 . He was close at 11.37 at 120 . It was killing me !!!! He had negative 1100 ft DA .
Do you shake the oil up before you dump it in. If it has set on the shelf for months the detergent car settle to the bottom.
I do not shake the oil.
Good video Speedy! Interesting to hear about the previous motor. Is there a benefit and what’s the reason for the oil cap breather?
And how often do you change oil if you’re running the car down the track often?
The breather helps the PCV system keeps the pressure in the engine balanced. I change the oil at my normal interval.
i have a 2018 shaker 6.4 and I have mobile 1 euro 0w-40 fs in it now and it was fine but doing winter oil storage change and found the penn 0w-40 euro fs in a 5 qt at walmart. What is your opinion of going just penn plat instead of the "pup" stuff they sell for so much more money buying it in single quarts. like you said you spent soo much more because you bought those 1 quart jugs.
I use the PP in every vehicle and would use it in the Hellcat if I could find 0W-40.
So you’re going to go from a base oil that’s made from crystal clear natural gas back to Mobil 1 that’s made from crude oil and burns off very fast compared to Pennzoil Platinum not that we really know or feel any difference. Both are group 3 full synthetic so I guess it comes down to price and availability. Are you going with the Mobil 1 extended performance or just regular Mobil 1???
I've only ever seen the Mobil 1 0W40 in the standard and it's been the Euro version as well.

Probably not, it's had a ton of problems so it will stay bone stock until I eventually sell it.
I can't imagine the physical load imposed upon a connecting rod & piston at nearly 7K rpm.

Yeah i accually agree amsoil is better than pensoil but pens is easier to find and cheaper. I personally use amsoil on mine because ive seen test after test in many categories but really the only ones i care about are the friction test and evap test and both are better for amsoil. Dont live in a cold place so i could care less but even in the cold poor test it still wins all the way around. Pens will work just fine though and to each is own.
