It's not politics that's the problem. It's a safety issue. Any large flapping pieces of material can spook the horses. I'm guessing it's the fact that they were displaying it then quickly folding it up and putting it away that allowed them to get away with it as well as the fact that they kept it away from the horses. It's still inappropriate though.
As a fellow North Carolinian, I agree with you. My heart goes out to the horses and the guards having to deal with the ignorance of some people everyday.

I gather the teachers/supervisors dropped these students off at Horse Guards, and flocked off the the nearest pub. Seems to happen every time. The MOD officers have to step in, when a Chitzman, Gatesman/woman or box guard has to deal with unruly students. Incredible
Why do I get the idea Ormonde is not so fond of guard duty? He seems to be either trying to cop a nap, or fidgeting with pinned ears, even if no one is bothering him. Not blaming him, for sure, but it doesn't seem to be his favorite part of the day. He must have been putting out some kind of "don't eff with me" energy that day, because the tourists who could not possibly know who he is were sidling up cautiously and standing out of strike range - LOL!
This all boils down to money. Keep the tourists happy and create a petting zoo. Who cares about the welfare of the guards and their horses? Who really cares about the tourists safety? There will be a lawsuit if a child gets hurt. Dumber than a BOX OF ROCKS.
What is it with the latest trend in young kids having mop head hair cuts. Doesn't matter the country, teenage boys all have the same haircut. And it makes them look like an upside down mop.
Why aren't parents teaching children how to act in public and respect for other people. If my children acted like this they would be grounded for no less than a week with no phone, video games, TV or reading ( they loved to read).They need to learn that actions have consequences!!
It's just a horse. I see them every day on my morning walk. They sometimes come past my house and leave a gift for me. I keep my shovel handy, and my roses are doing very well.

If you are talking about the horses. A lawsuit does not work. There are a warningsign at the wall .
I've read that you're essentially trying to sue The Crown in this situation. In other words don't expect much in the way of results.
