    Good call, Richard! I did not think institutional investors would enter this space so soon, but remote work has definitely sped up their entry. No rest for the wicked. Back to work!

    Why is investment firms coming into STR space a good thing? If anything it’s just more over saturation

    • @imrichardfertig
      @imrichardfertig  2 роки тому

      It increases the value of the investment property you own. And from a boating perspective, I don’t think they can personalize the experience as well as you!

    • @tinachxx110
      @tinachxx110 2 роки тому

      Sure. But there are already concerns about over saturation even without Wall Street. And now with Wall Street the concern is even more.

    I am a STR owner and don't. support institutional investors. We need to be more respectful and not so greedy to the general public. Everyone deserves to own a home and not those of us that already own property. Buying up more homes than we need just to make a profit will ultimately hurt the people of this country. This is a dangerous path.

    Good for the investors, Terrible for the customer. Customers prefer the Mom and Pop experience and renting from locals. This will ruin the unique culture of quaint neighbourhoods around the world. If Airbnb becomes too corporate (price & experience) tourism customers may end up leaving AirBnB and looking elsewhere for a more "authentic" experience.

    Great story, thanks. 1) I think those writers may be following you. 2) those corporate investors will almost certainly will be buying "middle of the road' properties so, as you have said, make yours special. I wish I could spare some cash - I would go with Stomp as I know you are only buying interesting projects. Cheers

    I loved the interview with Brian Chesky talking about the stretch of Airbnb through the pandemic, while they asked him about the help towards Ukraine refugees. The diversification and the ability to respond to the market is the most powerful tool any business can have. We ( as a community) are always ahead even with new investors. What do you think Richard? Thank you for sharing

    I’m a bit overwhelmed and super excited at the same time! I own a modest new LTR home very close to the beach in Costa Rica 🇨🇷 I want to try this STR… soon or more like now as I’m between tenants and it’s perfect timing. 🧐 How long can it take during this current season for rentals to start booking? I would like to have certain expectations so I don’t start panicking to soon… 🙃

      Hola Andrea, yo también soy de Costa Rica! Y tengo 3 STR en Escazú, llevo un rato siguiendo este canal y es excelente, hay demasiada información aplicable al negocio y muy apegada a la realidad . En mi experiencia de 7 meses en el negocio tuve la misma inquietud al inicio, en mi caso publicamos en Airbnb y tomó cerca de 3 o 4 días tener la primera reserva, y luego de eso afortunadamente hemos mantenido ocupaciones arriba del 80%, El primer mes tuvimos precios por debajo de la competencia y progresivamente fuimos subiendo. Aún sigo perfeccionado el modelo pero te recomiendo informarte lo más que puedas de este y otros canales similares y darle sin miedo!
      Saludos y éxitos

    Anytime WallStreet enters an arena they RUIN it by their greed. This video is confusing to me but I guess that is your background so you would view it this way.

    concerned Wall.ST will use it's leverage, like they do with everything. anyone who has lived in an apt complex or rental home owned by a huge company, or even read about Small v Large court cases will understand...
    the lawyers & deregulation they hold power to, leaves zero position for their opponents. if they use platforms (VRBO/AirBnB/etc), expect those platforms to be abused into the ground (over-reported loss claims/etc) to the point of no-longer having the fiscal margin to provide us the safety nets we rely upon. large firms will simply use in-house lawyers to bully guests & platforms to cost/benefit every last cent of profit. personal risk for small hosts will skyrocket if/when this happens.
    loads of variables, & it could be many years in the making, none with good outcomes tho.

    Unfortunately Airbnb caught onto a trick I have been using for years to see the profile picture of guests who send inquiries or request to book. Up till last week, you can see their pictures by finding their review on their previous hosts page. Now, Airbnb programmers figured it out and hide their image. That will make racial profiling a bit harder :(

      Um. No. Many people desire passive investments as a limited partner (“STR done for you”), and or invest in mutual funds with active portfolio managers selecting stocks on your behalf. If you prefer to do it yourself… go for it! I’ve been helping people do so for years on this channel and beyond.

    So you make a video asking for money. Ok. So what's your plan? What kind of returns are we looking at? Nowhere could I find any actionable plan. Projections? Strategy? Nothing? You just blatantly ask for 50k+ without any sort of plan? Wow. Would never trust you with my money in a million years bro
