I did a medical rotation at Winchester Medical Center in 1996 and just loved the town. I'm sure its changed a lot since then. I fear it's become a very expensive place to live.

I’ve lived in Winchester my whole life, I can tell you we do have some activities like these on special events, but downtown just isn’t like this anymore.
Yeah, it's still a very nice place though, sometimes just seeing some guy sitting down playing guitar is nice
I agree I lived here for a bit and besides the festival's it boring as hell and bad for drugs. It's nothing like this video or wasn't when I lived there .
And the old town mall activity a few weeks ago was Celebración, a "one-day, family-oriented free festival to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in our region".
There's a Jamaican cafe across the street from the library but they didn't show it.

That place introduces me to that cuisine. Me and my buddy would go to the library and on the way back we would get some chicken and it would light us up the whole walk home lol. It's a shame they don't mention them they serve great food
So much more than the walking mall. Winchester has so much to offer. How many of you knew that Admiral Byrd was from Winchester.

So, I watched this whole video. Its awfully nice. But not one mention of Patsy CLINE? She's the real reason folks come to Winchester from around the world. Snubbed again, I see by the folks in WINC.
This video is amazing! Winchester has really blossomed into a great place to hang out, it is really fabulous! The activities are soo amazing as well, Lots of friendly and diversified things all up and down the mall. Went to the Village restaurant and V2, and had the best food and drinks! Then went to the end of the mall to a really progressive and hip store, Luciole. Yes, Winchester is all that!

A favorite country singer of mine, Penny DeHaven was from Winchester.
I grew up in Winchester. But then I moved out west and people tormented me for my accent. It's nice being able to listen to that accent without being afraid.
Wonderful video. Obviously, the activities are not constant, but they have increased since renovations. This past weekend was a pretty busy one!

Now if they could level some of the rundown houses next to the downtown mall and make more parking, they would be in business.
Is that area pretty crappy or is it just cosmetic? I was hoping to purchase and rehab one of the historical homes, but if the area isn't safe... Sadly I wouldn't take it on.
No, they just need to decide what needs to be torn down to make more parking. The area is a great investment...probably one of the best and your efforts will only help. The places that house low income families just need to go. How is it a nice shopping or dining experience with low income people sitting around the old town mall gawking at people in a hateful way. I don't mean to sound like a prick but money is money and it is what it is.

Don't let everything fool you, yeah there might be good festivals, but Winchester has one Middle School called Daniel Morgan, which I go to. Trust me, the kids are NOT pleasant. Most are bullies.

Agreed. Nothing wrong with a white town. I love other races but I love my culture more, as it's what I grew up with.

Jojo’s CRAZY World sucks for u i live in stephen city
I lived there for 2 years and it was the worst time of my life. They make it look alot better then it. Very bad problem with drugs in that area. Plus if u left any property outside for more then 10 mins it's as good as stolen. It has it's moment's with the festival's but even then u have tourist pouring into this tiny walk mall and have to deal with drunken idiots everywhere. Not trying to be negative but this video is a bit ridicules.
