A suggestion... I built bashers for years both as an infantry soldier and my own jaunts into the wilderness. Buy a single geodesic tent pole. They're light weight, foldable and extraordinarily flexible. So, you need just one basha, one pole, 4 bungees, 4 tent pegs.... You can adjust the pole any way you need to provide a hooped bivvi, the bungees provide the flex/tautness, keeps the wind/rain out beautifully - I'm sure you can work it out. Importantly, you don't need trees. I've survived serious weather conditions in many wild environments in this design.
I made my kids do this for their packs they have a dd hammock tarp and hammock small mora neck knife with ferro rod and a few other things so they can set up their own tarp and hammock to get off the ground it’s the only way I can get it hem to come anymore , they hate tents so this system jungle knots they can set theirs up very easy . If u have kids this might b a good idea first time my daughter set up her tarp she was soo happy . I hope this inspires someone to try . Have a great day!
That's amazing to hear. I love hearing these testimonies. Getting the kids involved is a massive positive and they will have these lessons for life. Thanks for sharing 🙏
ha my first aid/survival kit is about the same size as your chest rig pouch. fekin overkill I know but I dont claim to even be as trained as a hat. Mind I was saying i figured out a new quick release I think we have had the same idea. (mine minus the stick I used an extra wrap around the original line). Love it brother. Slap happy for life.
