Wonderful job as always guys, great entertainment that benefits everyone involved. A great image for Gyeon to be backing genuine down-to-earth car guys and the kind of content that will continue to keep us watching for years. Cheers and have a safe, broken, rusty BMW filled chrissy from Australia!
Great video and nice painting too Who else spotted the Mazda pulling the trailer, wondered …. and then saw a Landrover steering wheel when the trailer was loaded with the beemer.
Always amazing content and the care for like minded people is amazing everyone at car throttle deserves a good ole pat on the back for not only this video but all the years before! Thank you guys x
instead of breaking into your car when you lock the keys in it while working on it, always roll one of the windows down a bit, enough to get your arm in at least. pro tip from a mechanic with 30 years going. what a lovely bloke, and his missus is a real sweetheart, giving him support when he's talking about something that obviously hurts. a really adorable couple. so awesome that they were able to do this for him!
16:10 the trans was still turning so the parking pall is trying to engage and is grinding on the transmission. Also your supposed to check the fluid level as a specific temp. It cannot be cold and it cannot be full hot. I don’t remember the exact temp but it’s in service data. Or just contact ZF.
I did the same thing in my W202 C280 just yesterday, started it up on jack stands after doing a few jobs on it, and it made that horrible clicking noise, shut it off straight away. I knew it was something to do with the trans brake but I thought I had broken it, I still haven't put back down again but hopefully it's ok lol.
beautiful car, never even heard of an M clubsport, absolutely in love with it. Car turned out great, and probably a few lives were changed with it :) love the series, keep it up CT!
Gareth is such an awesome character. Love it when he comes to the show. You should definitely makes him a permanent part of the CT crew. The other thing that really tingles the right parts in my brain is the detailing. Every time i watch a detailing video, especially on an older car, my soul just softens. Soooo satisfying to see the machine that battled through weather and time, still looking gorgeous underneath all that wear. Just needing a little bit of hand-touch and involvement and it looks and feels special. And the end is just the epitome of what to be a car guy is. It's more than just looking at cars as cool machines. They become part of your life and family, create and carry memories. Establishes that bond between father and son. It's indescribable with words, but so much strong and evident. Loved that video.
What an amazing thing to do for this guy. If someone likes their car they get attached to it, but to add the fact it's one of the biggest links to his fathers memory! he needed this. I wish someone could do the same for my Audi S4. Been sat on the drive since 2019 !
Love your work Lads! Brilliant job & what a difference a proper detail can do. The car looked amazing!! The oil painting was the cherry on top. Thank you Lads for such another heart warming episode.
My dad and I had a project car, he too passed away in 2018. I eventually sold the car but it was honestly one of the hardest decisions I made. God bless his wife for telling him not to sell it. Didn't watch the video fully at this point and got to the end with the surprise in the boot. What a beautiful gift, well done Throttle team.
That's incredible. I was getting emotional too and nearly in tears. The paintings were so cool. Any car enthusiast understands the bonds you make with certain cars and the times and people they are connected too. I know that BMW was a fantastic car and woth preserving but for me the cars l'd chose are a little more modest and insignificant to others. A real top spec Rover 75 in that condition would be so cool for me. It was the last great car from a company I adored and reminds me of special times growing up with my Dad. A Peugeot 306 D Turbo as well because of times with my Grandad and my Manchester childhood. 🙂 So pleased for this guy.
Love when you save amazing people's cars cos when it means something to someone it doesn't matter if its a super car or a shopping car it's the memories that they hold for person who own them. Your not just saving a car your saving a person. You can see how much it meant to him
You guys are brilliant. Spreading the love. I am sure there are so many viewers that wouldn't mind training on some of the repairs you done. Not to be a mechanic but to be maintain their cars

Thank you for sharing, and i do think that if more of us could be more like you, this world would be much nicer. when you think once upon a time that car was being put together at BMW and nobody had any idea one day how much it would mean to somebody and throughout its lifetime has developed its own story. cars are amazing things to those of us who appreciate them. bless
It’s amazing what you guys have done for this man! As a 19 year old across the pond in the states I’ve dealt with a lot of what he has, my truck is definitely my prized possession and my escape from the reality of dealing with depression. It’s been there when nobody else has been through sickness with cystic fibrosis, was involved in a depression related “incident” (thankfully I didn’t do anything to it, just myself at that point in life) and all the time spent working on it, etc. I love the thing but I had decided to go to school this semester, found out a day ago I’ve been getting robbed $6/hr, and I have to afford to put the $4,000 built motor I’ve had for 6 months into the damn thing lol. Anyway, this man seems to have had similar issues, selling would be the smart option, but mentally, getting back on top of the project is necessary, you guys did it for him! Been a supporter for years and what you do is fantastic, keep it up.
I love this type of content and it's a shame that most of the content on UA-cam isn't about taking care of eachother. I follow you guys already a long time but these series are awesome👍🏼💪🏽 Ps: It's a shame we didn't see the reveal in daylight😅
The locked door was brilliant - I had a superfun issue with my E46 where the keyfob wouldn't disengage the alarm and locks anymore. No issue, just use the key in the keyway job done. Until the key barrel broke. Ah. Ok. Plan B was lock the car via the passenger side: key out, close drivers door, around to passenger and lock drivers door pin, then drop the pin on the passenger door before closing. "How", you may ask, "do you then UNLOCK" the car. Well, dear reader. This is done via a very technical piece of string around the drivers door release, in combination with the only working key barrel - the boot. So string over the (folded down) back seat, fold seat up, then when you want to unlock, open boot, fold down seat, pull string, door opens. This was about a month or so before I got the key battery fixed and was able to use the buttons again, all back to normal! .... Or so I thought. Cut to a few weeks after the battery replacement. Click button to unlock car. No. String Theory was long-abandoned at this stage, and I was back to setting an alarm. Only one thing for it. Open boot with key, fold seats down, ignore alarm blaring and dive headfirst INTO boot, worm your way up to the drivers seat, key in ignition, press unlock button to silence alarm. Start engine because why not, exit car, return to rear and close boot, sit back in car, fold rear seat back up. Casually drive away like you're not mortified. Thanks chaps, this has made me start the list my 325 needs, it's sat in a unit waiting for me to get the finger out, and with your video it's given me the kick I sorely needed.
I love series like this, genuine people getting the help they need! If you guys ever need a spare set of hands to spin spanners for any project like this, I'm more than happy to help out if I can.

I’m in bits after watching this , thanks boys for making me cry ! I know how Dan feels losing his young father but thanks to the boys his memory lives on , the car was done lovely and wat a gesture the picture was ! Amazing !
Respect to the CT team for doing this - I’m sure Daniels dad would have been proud of the work you’ve done to keep the car running - that portrait in the boot was a nice touch 🙌🏽
Love what you’re doing with the series. It’s really nice to see peoples faces light up after a tough time.
Really pleased you guys done this. So humble, and just energetic! Adam is such a legend.
Such a wonderful video. Truly thriving with emotion.
This is one of those videos where i wouldnt skip a single second. such a heartwarming episode. please keep this going! love from Hong Kong
BMW Throttle is back at it again! 🤪
I'm done with them now. They were going back to doing good content in the Scotland trip, then reverted back to type and repeat junk heap bmw vids. The only people buying old bmw now are utter melts either hipsters or chavs
@@bigduphusaj162 🤣get laid dude, then you won’t be so angry!
@@NH00531 quote from you "why do I find Ethan saying "my wife" so funny, I'm 45, I'm supposed to be a grown up" 🤣 and you've the cheek to bring up my sex life 😂😂😂
The first youtube video in a long LONG time I have felt the need to let all of the averts run as you guys deserve every penny for this video. A stunning effect and a great cause. Please stop cutting onions.
Great initiative lads, massive well done as always 👍
This is legit just as good as old top gear, never have car films that make you feel emotional toward a car, absolutely brilliant work, best video on this channel
They even prob did less than this fans car fix lol.
Great video and nice painting too
Who else spotted the Mazda pulling the trailer, wondered …. and then saw a Landrover steering wheel when the trailer was loaded with the beemer.
45c iirc
been a while since i touched a ZF
Glad you pointed that out. Also, you’re supposed to do 3 drain and refills of trans fluid to get as much of the old fluid out as possible
Lovely edition. I almost switched off with the woe is me stuff at the beginning but stayed the course and absolutely loved this weeks offering.
beautiful car, never even heard of an M clubsport, absolutely in love with it.
Right in the feels. Great episode everyone. Thank you.
I love this! I hope to see more of this! This is what "Pimp my ride" should have been!
It’s how Overhaulin’ was in its early seasons
I love this series boys, it's a hell of a thing you're all doing.
The portrait.. that was special. Raw emotion, shows just what the car symbolises. Great job CT.
Nothing we love more than fixing up ropey E46's to get them in top condition and keep them on the road. Top job lads!!!
They are becoming a joke with the repeat BMW vids. They are an actual laughing stock on the UK car forums at present.
More dull bmw stuff - wish they’d get out of this rut. Adding a lame sob story doesn’t cut it for me.
🥰 You just made a grown man cry like a newborn baby! Your hearts must be quite large and full of love i believe. Thank you for sharing, and i do think that if more of us could be more like you, this world would be much nicer. I don't have alot of money, i fight hard as a union rep for my colleagues and give all the love i can to my kids, that is my humble way of trying to make this world a kinder place.
This is hands down one of the best videos I have watched in years. So touching and emotional. Well done Alex and the team 👍❤
LOL 😂
when you think once upon a time that car was being put together at BMW and nobody had any idea one day how much it would mean to somebody and throughout its lifetime has developed its own story. cars are amazing things to those of us who appreciate them. bless
Makes me miss my old e46 😥😥 so want another one best car I’ve had!
You guys are so thoughtful, and go to any lengths to sort a car that is so special to someone, you guys have restored my faith in humanity
This guy needs some help for PTSD. Losing his dad in this way is a real trauma. Maybe this will go a long way to aiding his recovery. Great work guys.
I follow you guys already a long time but these series are awesome👍🏼💪🏽
Ps: It's a shame we didn't see the reveal in daylight😅
Looks fantastic lads so fair play, do love these style of shows and what a nice touch with the artwork at the end.
Thanks fella's, top job.
This was the most emotional episode yet, awesome work guys
Another soylord emotional wreck. This is what watching Xfactor done to you girlie men
@@bigduphusaj162 🤣get laid dude, then you won’t be so angry!
@@NH00531 copy & paste boy is back 🤣
The artwork with the guys dad and him in the car. Whoever dreamed that idea deserves a medal. Brilliant job.
Trying to sell my old E46 with the GM5 on the way out... Unlocking and locking over and over until eventually the door locks popped up. Great times...
Made me cry several times.
Love these cars. I hope my little ones put this much love and care into my e46.
Alex really does need his own reality drama tv show
I love series like this, genuine people getting the help they need! If you guys ever need a spare set of hands to spin spanners for any project like this, I'm more than happy to help out if I can.
Pimp my ride but they actually fix the car
Thanks to the team and sponsors for saving special cars and helping nice people out.
@ 8:09 the BMW hub cap moving back & forth was magical!
Cars to some people are far more than a piece of metal and plastic, they hold sentimental value that can never ever be replicated or replaced. Watching you guys “factory reset” this car was an absolute pleasure & I look forward to more episodes of this👌🏽👌🏽
