I remember back in my childhood, where Nickelodeon was actually the heydays for all of their beloved iconic shows especially movies that had premiered on the big screen base off of their originals like hey Arnold, the wild thorn berry’s movie, og Rugrats, Jimmy neutron Movie and of course the spongebob movie. Nowadays Its just reruns and live actions, that’s why I always be on streaming services.
Yeesh. Paw Patrol really is the SpongeBob of Nick Jr. Also, the movie schedule is just crazy, and they just started airing The Really Loud House, which is just milking another franchise to the ground, but regardless, Nick really needs to fix itself, for Pete's Dragon's sake.

@@OmniMon94 Well I had watched the really loud house with my little 12yr old cousin and she literally just told me that this is just boring and that it actually works better in animation, to be honest she’s not wrong.
2013 is the year where 2 shows would take over their channels. (And by that I mean Paw Patrol and Teen Titans Go!)
The person in charge of Nick's scheduling is John Flannery
He came from both Showtime and AMC, so that could explain why movies (and Paw Patrol) are getting spammed to death on Nick

Funny, how the tables have turned. 5 years ago, we used to complain about CN's schedules, but now Nick's schedule feels like they're in a midlife crisis. If CN can get their shit back together, then I hope Nick does the same thing (hopefully, next year).

Yeah man you said it, Nickelodeon is in some deep water right now it's like their not even trying anymore, they just need to get their act together.
Thought #1: I don't blame you for making that joke at 0:59. That may as well be their new name, juxtaposed with the main network, now called the Yellow Sponge and Kid With Ten Sisters network. In all seriousness, I'm not surprised. They've been airing mostly SpongeBob reruns for... God knows how long at this point, so it was only a matter of time before they'd start doing it with Paw Patrol.
Thought #2: Yeah, at first, I was a bit disappointed that they pulled that SpongeBob crossover episode, but then, I realized "Oh, wait. This is Nickelodeon. This is par for the course at this point." It's a shame, too because SpongeBob hasn't really been airing that many new episodes over the course of this year, so I was hoping that they'd use this to close out their 2022 broadcast plans with a bang. And before anyone says anything, yes I'm aware that this may be in part because the SpongeBob crew has to work on three shows at once, despite not having enough people for this kind of thing, and there's the fact that SpongeBob is the only currently running show on Nickelodeon that still uses hand-drawn animation on top of that, so an episode may take longer to produce than an episode of say, The Loud House, but even then, it's kind of a detriment if you really think about it. SpongeBob, one of the biggest successes in Nickelodeon history, is only airing a few episodes every few months because the episodes are simply taking too long to produce.
Thought #3: Okay, I hardly watch the main network, as I only watch the shows on demand, so I had no idea about the movies thing. I have a feeling that seeing the Smurfs movies over and over again every week is going to be something that even kids would eventually get tired of. Yeah, they may like those movies, but they deserve to have at least a little variety in their watching habits to broaden their tastes. They don't have to like the other movies they would theoretically watch if Nickelodeon were to reduce their showings of those movies to... let's say once every few months, but at least they would be enticed to try something new.
Bottom line: Nickelodeon's scheduling department needs some serious reform, or this kind of decision making is really going to come back to bite them.

I like to keep in mind that who is currently doing the overabundance of movies being aired and repeated has all been in the job of John Flannery who in his previous work was on movie channels like AMC and Showtime which explains why Nickelodeon is airing more movies than their actual shows, though I really wish they would stop on overairing PAW Patrol, not even Dora gets that much airtime while PAW Patrol airs for an extra hours and even on weekends now as they have other shows to air on Nick Jr's current state, but also Nick At Nite is overairing their reruns of Friends and how the sister networks keep losing more variety, especially TeenNick overairing Henry Danger. If anything, he honestly should just resign and go back to doing his job as a scheduler on a movie network, maybe on a channel like Freeform or TCM while giving the scheduler position to someone who knows Nickelodeon fondly.

To be fair, there’s a good chance that I can give Nickelodeon a few creative ideas. Like for example: The Wackiest World of Flicks. The first Nicktoon show to co-sponsor with Paramount Cartoon Studios.
I got sick when nick is airing movies every week. Especially to my retrospective that I don't watch the channel sense.

Well at least on the first weekend in November 2022, Nick aired a movie that isn’t as overplayed to death as the Sonic movie, the SpongeBob movies, and the Despicable Me movies. The first two Smurfs movies from the last decade. They feel like something Nick’s schedules really needed.
Nicktoons has already ditched TMNT (2012) for more of SpongeBob and The Loud House marathons.

Disney did the same thing with Disney Junior block schedule with Bluey even it airs On Disney Channel for 1 hour on weekdays after Disney Junior block signs off and 2 hours on weekends.

Nickelodeon didn’t even care of airing new episodes and reruns of new shows that they have that much like big nate, Star Trek prodigy and monster high. Instead they just have to waste their time by premiering sitcoms like the really loud house and fairly odder 😔. I guess that proves that they were running out of ideas with their new properties by still being in a shell as always.
Those 2 sitcoms also only get 30 minutes of screentime at the end of the day surrounded by reruns of Loud-Sponge-Movie-Friends-Patrol, like every show that's not Loud House (2016), SpongeBob, Paw Patrol, Friends, and especially movies.

Nick@Nite started to get worse in November 2022 when they removed Young Sheldon and Seinfeld off their lineup. Now they only play Mike & Molly and Friends. Nick@Nite should now be called Mike&Friends@Nite.

@@randalltonbrewster I checked the Top 150 cable ratings for each week on SpoilerTV, and yeah… It’s not hard to see why Nick@Nite continues to air more of Friends. The numbers in the Spoiler TV website really speak for themselves.
Actually 2009 it started going downhill with Glen Martin DDS thank god that show was trashed in 2011 after 2 seasons, Like Cheers was long gone back in 2005, Rosanne was already out of the door, Cosby Show had 1 year left on Nick at Nite and The Fresh Prince was gone (til it returned in 2014)and it got worse in 2020 and 2021 when George Lopez and Full House left the lineup, they been spamming Friends ever since it got added to the lineup back in 2011. This is why I stopped watching Nick at Nite since late 2018, early 2019ish it’s not the same as its amazing self anymore. I first experienced watching Nick at Nite back in 2007, 2008ish.

To be fair the Big Nate Show should be on tv as little as possible. It's a disgrace to the comic strip. The characters don't act like themselves and the plots are more outlandish than they have ever been.

It's like Paramount doesn't care - basically telling its viewers to move to Paramount+ if they want any variety (I'm a subscriber BTW).
As for SPAM Patrol - Dora wasn't overaired THIS badly during her run - because her show was expensive to produce, unlike PAW Patrol, which is produced on the cheap north of the border for a public broadcaster (TVOntario). Yet children keep watching it because pups are cute.. when in reality this show is tired and really needs to end.
But Nick Jr. has nothing to replace it with because they don't trust their own originals - Blaze and Santiago of the Seas get no love, and neither does Blues Clues and You (the recent movie was great, BTW.)
It’s like when the grandparents find out you liked this one thing and they will go get you the most pack sets available till they decide to let you breath for a minute.

To be fair SpongeBob is their only good cartoon. Loud House is very hit and miss and a guilty pleasure. Middle Mostpost is cute.

I’m more bothered with movie spam than SpongeBob/Paw Patrol spam these days. While it’s understandable those shows are their money makers, they have no excuse with movies as most of them aren’t even produced by them or their parent company

Ugh. IF they show The PAW Patrol Movie, I'm out. Never liked the show either. And I haven't been watching Nick at all. Now I have a reason NOT to watch it now. And Nick doesn't even feel like 'Nick' anymore. It feels more like 'The Nick Movie Channel' since it LOVES airing THE SAME MOVIES 24/7. But I'm serious. If they show THE PAW PATROL movie, I'm going to have to bounce. Nickelodeon was way better than this! And it saddens me that MOVIES are reducing it to nothing more than an empty shell.

I like paw patrol but I don't think I can watch that much of it XD but then again I never did try binge watching the whole show before I do need to catch up on the show,and it's way better then baby shark who never deserved it's own show,why do kids like extremely annoying songs and annoying shows? I’m actually gonna defend Nickelodeon having a load array of movies every week. While it does take away from cartoons or live action shows and series, the way I see it is that you see the time slots for movies, and you as a family or yourself can decide which one to see and watch together at that time. It’s basically kinda flexing out if the goal is to watch one movie a week or so. That’s my thoughts at least
But overall, Nick is doing much worse than CN right now, and that’s saying something
