This was so shocking for all ARMYs cuz we were expecting something like his previous works like daydream and all but contrasting to his previous style of work or even his bubbly sunshine personality it suddenly turned out to be all emo and rock. But Jack in the Box will always remain iconic album 🥰💜

I'd say that Daydream is only superficially a cheerful song - if you read the lyrics, you could later expect something darker as j-hope showed in More. I think most of the fandom doesn't understand this member at all and thinks of him as some kind of jolly, whereas this is one of people with greater depth of thought

5:41 in his documentary j-hope actually said that if wanted he could basically do nothing, just chill and have fun, there is no real need for him to work very hard anymore, but that is not what he wants to do, he wants to keep creating and working hard

Being a metal head myself, but still absolutely in love with BTS...I almost fell off my chair when this one dropped. I don't know why I didn't expect it but it made me love J Hope even more 💜💜💜💜💜
Hobi is my bias..and let me tell you when this dropped I LOST MY MIND 😂😂😂. It was completely unexpected for him to go in this direction and it was amazing. Especially me being someone who prior to K-pop listened to mostly rock/emo music
I know I shouldn't be surprised because everything is different to the next song they do, but when I first heard this, im like you go jhope! I really think you would like jhope at lollapalooza, he stole that show, we call it the hobipalooza lol
His live vocals and energy are insane! Shined the most at that show, and he gained so many new fans while proving why he was chosen as a main headliner. Plus the live band and audience/army feedback made it more special.

I was so shocked when this came out! For years hobi has been the "sunshine" of BTS, with that huge smile, wonderful laugh, constantly in motion and in good cheer. I had no idea he had this in him. It makes me want to stomp and twirl! He did carry his determination to learn forward and has released a documentary (on Prime) where he visits 5 or 6 cities in the US, Europe, and Asia to learn more about street dance, which is his specialty. Hobi is the perfect example of why this hiatus is so good for the guys and BTS as a whole. They've had a group image for many years, and I can just feel the release that each guy needed to express at this point in their careers. I was equally surprised at Jimin's Set Me Free pt 2, which you will love.
I'm impatient for these 7 musical geniuses and performers to come back and mix all this creativity into one pot. I don't know which of them you've seen as soloists, but you can see such huge differences so far. Please keep going! Personally, I hope you spend your reaction time and energy on BTS, I love learning from you!!
JHope is our beloved sunshine, but the man has LAYERS. He can do it all and his talent and work ethic are legendary. I remember when this video was released and I was so shocked, But why? The diversity in his music and performance choices were always there. We just need to go along for the ride with his music. Which is also true for BTS in general, but today I am talking about our amazing Hobi 😁

I personally giggled when he gave us the xray exposure shots cuz ARMY loving calls Jhope Boneless Hobi or Boneless Jhope or Boneless Hoseok cuz the way he moves when he dances you would swear he has no bones.

I'm 70 & let me tell you our man JHOPE really rocks & puts on a hell of a performance. He really shines in his genre.
His solo concert Lollapalooza Chicago was amazing I watched from here in the UK on the live stream. over 120,000 people were at his concert. He holds the record from the most tickets sold ever in the history of Lollapalooza.
He was the only artist ever to headline Lollapalooza who had his own merchandise stalls and it was all sold out over 1million US $ of merchandise was sold. The organsisers of Lollapalooza said they'd never seen anything like it before.
His mix tape Hope world is all sunshine up beat then came Jack in the Box which Arson and Moore were the 2 main song
Now he has Hope on the Street mini album out which is the sound track to this documentary of him going back to his roots as a Street Dancer.
J Hope is extremely diverse so surprises us every time.
Jhope (we call him Hobi too) is so effortless cool. Just amazing concept and it’s part of his Jack in the Box album thus the box. Arson is his follow up to this. His full Lolapalloza live set is amazing rock/harder style like this.

I really like the way you try to understand their music...we were all surprised by this song when it came out, if you try to put it in a musical category I think it's pretty hard but that's also why it's so interesting. Hobi (Jhope) is a happy, energetic and extremely positive guy and his music is all the more surprising. I'm waiting for the next BTS reaction or solo projects, it's a pleasure to see the smiles of those who discover for the first time their music so special but also so complex 🤗
J-Hope is the best, talented and creative. And best dancer and dance leader.

I knew you'd love this track lol. Hobi absolutely did a lot of fun exploration for this album. So far, each of his albums has been pretty different, but as a lot of other comments have said, ARMY was absolutely shook when he dropped this track. Do yourself a favor and listen to Arson soon!
J-hope's whole discography is diverse and versatile...no two songs have the same vibe from 1verse, chicken noodle soup, hope world, jack in the box, on the street & hope on the street, u wont be disappointed...thanks anyway for reacting
Versatility is the best word to define J-hope. After a first solo mixtape called Hope World, plenty of optimistic music, he released Jack in the box showing us a darker shade of himself. Recently he released Hope on the Street, reconecting with his urban dancer persona. (Sorry for my English)

J-Hope is a sweetheart and has such a caring, kind soul, full of sunshine! I really like his newer songs like More and also love his older songs like Daydream and Chicken Noodle Soup. He definitely has multiple sides when it comes to music. He's got a beautiful deep voice, and his dancing is top tier. 💜
Of all the members as soloists, j-hope is my favorite. He has so much versatility, such great musical instincts, and the most original, complex, creative concepts. He's really hard to translate for (just because the Korean language is really flexible and he writes really abstractly and makes a ton of obscure references) but I think his bars and themes resonate with me the most, too. There was this reactor after j-hope's last album Jack In The Box came out, that called j-hope the "k-pop Messiah" preaching the "Gospel of Hope" and I think that's really true. There's so much sincerity in every aspect of his art and he is so hands on with the creation of each part of his projects so you really feel connected to him and his Works. And you feel changed by them, for the better. And beyond that, j-hope started as a street dancer (won a national championship in hip hop dance before he joined BTS) so his musicality is next-level. He inherently understands what makes people move and he lives for performances (we literally call him the Performer of Our Generation bc he's the best in the industry on stage period) so his music always hits aesthetically, too. Like he's got a great ear for melody and a great sense of rhythm and the tools in his belt (as a rapper/singer) to deliver what's going to hit best. I think he's an artist who has a really distinct, identifiable, memorable signature/brand but he also manages to surprise and challenge fans with every project he drops. That makes him incredibly exciting to stan.

He is full of surprise, our sunshine Hobi. His farewell to Army song before going to the mandatory military service ‘on the street’ featuring JCole is iconic. Hope you react to it too. 💜
The first time I heard it I wasn't into it but then it grew on me listening to it a few times. J Hope has some beautiful solo songs such as "Baseline", "Blue side", "Chicken Noodle Soup", "Ego", Just Dance". I want to recommend you watching the BTS guide to get to know each member more 💜
This song is from his album "Jack in the Box" (2022), which I think is a masterpiece. The concept, the lyrics, the message, the sound, all very cohesive and tell a story from start to finish. It's worth doing an album reaction to.
Then his 70-minute headlining, record-breaking performance at Lollapalooza. It was electrifying. He's a gifted performer. As the first member to debut as a soloist, he set the bar high.
My favorite J-hope song is "Stop", also from this album.
J-hope is such a versatile artist. His first mixtape, "Hope World" (2018), has a very different sound, brighter and more in line with his usual cheerful persona. His third release, "Hope on the Street" (2024), is filled with dance songs, a soundtrack for his dance documentary of the same name.
JITB album made me crazy! Hoseok distinct voice is insane. I was totally hooked with his talent, very rare indeed!

I love J-Hopes music. And he is also diverse in his albums. My summer-playlist is full of J-Hope songs.
J-Hope's Jack in the box album, from which this track comes, is a conceptual masterpiece. The world's most important music media gave J-Hope great reviews, Rolling Stone magazine ranked his album in the top ten best albums of 2022, and the Grammys named J-Hope artist of the month, along with Beyoncé.

J Hope's solo work is also very diverse within what he does as solo artist he just has another mini album out so I would say compare 'More' from his previous album Jack in the Box with 'Nueron' from his newest mini album Hope on the street. And you'll see what I mean.

Punk Rap!!! I grew up in the 80s, and I love this song. Cypress Hill is a good shout-out, also Beastie Boys and Folk Implosion.
His other song, Arson, is brilliant too. I love the darker nature of these songs.
With all that said his song Piece of Peace is just something else. No mv, but the Lollapalooza performance is killer. Alons with What If that samples ODB Shimmy Shimmy Ya.

J-Hope is super versatile. I loved his Jack in the Box which is quite dark, but I also loved the light-heartedness of his latest Hope On The Street Vol 1. 💜 This song was inspired by Fight Club.
Cypress hill!!??? Omgg haven't heard that name in a WHIIILLE😂 That release and the whole Jack in the Box album and concept was incredible, his artistic vision fascinates me!!
They are all extremely versatile, but j-hope is the most eclectic type of person and this ends up being reflected in the albums such as the first with a 90s vibe, the second being a rock/metal and the newest with the hip-hop style of the 2000s
They are seven such completely different individuals... with such completely different personal musical styles. And yet they make such a power group when they are together.
And I love that although they have different musical styles, they also love many different kinds of music. I honestly think that each of them likes all of the other’s music.

This is Jhope, our Sunshine, showing his darker, gritty side and experimenting with his music and flow. I loved this album, showing all of his sides - for a different angle of him try Daydream or Airplane or some of his newest stuff, like Neuron and I wonder (with Jungkook).

I was previously a casual BTS fan and followed them and their songs coming out, but it wasn't until J-Hope's album 'Jack in the box' (which was in the top 10 albums of the year 2023 according to RollingStones) that I became addicted to really listening to his music over and over and over again. I installed Spotify and to this day I think it's the best kpop album. Since then I've only been similarly strongly moved by Suga's "D-Day" album and now J-Hope's latest album "Hope on the street". The messages of these three albums are extremely coherent and deeply moving. For me, they are made to be listened to from beginning to end, as a whole story. Great albums! Nothing from BTS or the other members has drawn me in as much. I can only compare it to my love for Hozier's latest album

J-Hope headlined at Lollapalooza in 2022. I watched the entire concert video. His 6-part documentary Hope on the Street showed him going back to his roots as a dancer and meeting with other dancers. I enjoyed it a lot. Pre-orders for RM's second solo album have begun. It'll drop May 25th and contain 11 songs.
V has some good songs on his album Layover. I also like Le Jazz du V and his acting skills in IU's MV for Love Wins All are just... stunning. It created quit a stir when it came out. They shot it one week before V enlisted.

the album this song is on, jack in the box, is a lot about him wondering about who he is, where is his place, what does he want, what does he want to do next, he basically lived in the studio for the first few months of 2022 to create this masterpiece

My favorite of j-hope is basically the entirety of Hope World. Jack in the Box is also a no skip masterpiece. I’m probably biased, well he’s my main bias, but in BTS songs, my favorite verse almost always is his verse despite how sometimes his verses are short. He also has a lovely singing voice so he’s not always rapping in their songs.
It’s interesting how different the writing styles of RM, Yoongi and Hobi are, but all three are usually very meaningful, poetic and intellectual.

P.S. His new album Hope on the Street along with the docuseries on Prime video makes a non-dancer like myself want to dance.
'Still not enough' is very Korean in a way as it's not quite the same definition we would have. It means 'he's got more to show us yet' not 'that he's not good enough as or something is not good enough' It has slightly different meaning so harder to translate.
That album was called Jack in the Box, that's why the box and the Jack appear there 🙂

This one caught us all off guard lol. It was the first release of the guys to do their solo albums (the ones before were technically just mix tapes they put on soundcloud for free) and we thought it was going to be closer to what Hobi had sounded like when he shared Hopeworld... Jack in the Box as a whole is just an amazing album. You should totally check out his Lollapalooza (totally called Hobipalooza lol) performance. It was the first time a Korean act headlined. And the first time in like forever that a Sunday night at the festival was sold out.

The Jack in The Box album is so iconic. Hobi has a very specific persona within BTS and that is him but so is this. More will always be a favorite of mine because it showed a different aspect of someone who has already given so much of himself. Also as a rock girly this is very me.

I love this song. The drop reminds me of something from younger days (probably in the ‘70s), but I can’t figure it out. You will be surprised to hear how different his songs on his new album are. It’s one of the things I love about J-Hope and BTS in general. Listen to “Neuron”, “I Wonder” (feat Jung Kook), “Arson”, “Mama”, and “Chicken Noodle Soup”. He is a very dynamic live performer. As he say, he is born to be in the stage.
His new album is amazing and different
First, my friend, they're men - several of them are 30+ years-old. Yes they started as young men, but the years have gone by. J-hope, or Hobi is so damn talented. You have to watch his 2023 Lollapalloza concert- banging - front to back, I've watched it 12 times so far. Fabulous! His albums: Hope World and then Jack in the Box are some of my favorites. I can't go a week without listing to Hobi. I adore this man and his talent.

ARMY were SO SHOCKED when this dropped because it was so different from what he had done before, but we LOVED it! You must listen to Arson by j-hope as well -- I think of these two songs as a set. His latest music would be Neuron, and again, a whole new kind of vibe.

Hobi's started as a dancer, he learned to rap from RM and Yoongi. He has a mini documentary in prime going back to his roots of dancing. It's fantastic 👏

Hobi learnt to rap from RM & Suga then he set his own style. Before this song/album, what he's known to ARMY is "sunshine happy virus Hobi". BTS debuted 9 years already at the time this song was released, yet this was an unexpected music choice/side/image of him none of us expected!

This was amazing. Jhope really made some good music. I hope he makes more of rock rap. This give such and edgier feel which i think is him. Btw you should listen to blue and grey that is written essentially by V. The song is very sad and is exoressed beautifully in the lyrics. v's vicals and the rap line contribution makes this a interesting song.
