A key witness who has given crucial evidence in the Madeline McCann investigation is terminally ill with cancer. It could set back investigators who have struggled to find enough evidence to charge the main suspect, Christian B.
It comes as Christian B is in court charged with unrelated sex crimes - three rapes and two sexual assaults in which he denies.
