A review of the Silky Gomboy 210-8 Curve. This saw is great and is good for camp fire prepping and camp building. I think it's a very good saw and recommend it to anyone who needs a decent saw for processing fire wood.

The way you're holding the wood is pinching the blade. That's why it binds and bends.
Thanks i have got better now ;)
I use the gumboy curved in combination with the Okatsune pruners for garden work and on the fruit trees to trim them.
There is a Okatsune double holster where both the Gomboy curved and the pruners fit it together. Absolute perfect combination have it two years now love it.
The Okatsune pruners are about 62 HRC hard harder than 99% of high end knives and they cut super sharp so the cuts can heal perfect.
Hello sir, your vid popped up at just the right time as my mother-in-law is ordering me the same saw for christmas this week(they're not all bad).ATB👍👍👍
You lucky man! You will love how it rips through wood with ease. Thanks Stuart.
They are excellent saws Paul, I have the pocket boy and my beloved is getting me one of the curves for Christmas..lucky boy.!! Great review mate:
I have had a few saws over the years, i think the Silky's are well worth the price.
Another top vid. A well deserved brew aswell. Cheers. Ian
Thanks Ian
Mate lovely stuff, straight to the point and informative review. Cheers for helping me make up my mind, I've got one on order now. Legend mate
Thanks Jim, They are very sharp and cut like hot knives through butter ;)
Good review thx :) Just received my Gomboy this Christmas ,same as yours and now the blade comes with 2 locking pos.. cut down the tree and saw on the ground with a support . easier to use the draw effect :) as you know it don`t cut well when pushing.. Greetings from Northern Norway
Fantastic saw isn't it ;)
@@PaulBissekerBushcraft Yes it is..very impressed.. friend of mine tested and ordered one directly..lol :)
Great vid, All the silky,s are the best saws
Great Saws
Cheers Paul I've been looking at them silky...saws can't decide on which one ....hope your misses dosent see this film .if she nows you've got big pockets Xmas is going to be painfully atb des 🤣🤣🤣
LOL She knows i got big empty pockets ;)
2 lock points on mine
I can't decide between the 210 and the 170! I want as small as possible without it becoming a nightmare to saw with! 210 is quite beefy.... what are your thoughts on the 170? 🤔
You should go for the one that suits the job. You know which one would be best for your needs.
BTW - is Peter musician or works as a recording technician? Last time u mentioned, he couldn’t be there with you ,cause of finishing the music.
He makes music he has a channel on YT. ua-cam.com/channels/pAcILfgQFCVMY81vkIyUog.html
Maybe the second position is closed...?
LOL yeah
Most Silkys have two lock slots in the blade. The straight Gomboy does if i remember correctly.
Ok :-) I have absolutely no idea!
@@n1bruva Thanks for the comment ;) No one uses the second position anyway, it's for pruning overhead i think.
Bought one today. The blade has a second notch for the angled position. It's for cutting something on a flat surface to allow room for your hand.
Hi Paul you nearly twated that blade ur holding the wood wrong for cutting put less pressure on the wood your cutting and you’ll have less problems. Stay safe
Ive decided on Silky and 210 and cannot decide between straight, curve, large or medium teeth. How to decide?
Curved with large teeth
@@nathanbigsby8731 Thanks....would you say the large teeth cut faster but dont bite too much and get stuck?
Do Silky saws have to be sharpened?
The smaller Silky saws are impulse hardened and last a ridiculously long time. However, they can't be sharpened. One UA-camr has had his for 6+ years and it's still cuts like crazy and that's after heavy use.
Bradley Williams Thanks for the info!
Don't saw Nails, Staples, Screws. Replacement blades are close to the price of the saw!
Don’t tell me, Peter is growing his beard again?????😱
Yep
What no dogs?
No food no dogs ;)
You would be better shooting in 1080, smaller files and not much difference in playback on UA-cam.
Gopro looks a bit naf in 1080 after YT has mangled it. Some of my older stuff is 1080p. If you watch 4k footage in 1080 it looks a lot better.
