    A review of the Silky Gomboy 210-8 Curve. This saw is great and is good for camp fire prepping and camp building. I think it's a very good saw and recommend it to anyone who needs a decent saw for processing fire wood.

    The way you're holding the wood is pinching the blade. That's why it binds and bends.

    I use the gumboy curved in combination with the Okatsune pruners for garden work and on the fruit trees to trim them.
    There is a Okatsune double holster where both the Gomboy curved and the pruners fit it together. Absolute perfect combination have it two years now love it.
    The Okatsune pruners are about 62 HRC hard harder than 99% of high end knives and they cut super sharp so the cuts can heal perfect.

      I have had a few saws over the years, i think the Silky's are well worth the price.

    I can't decide between the 210 and the 170! I want as small as possible without it becoming a nightmare to saw with! 210 is quite beefy.... what are your thoughts on the 170? 🤔

      You should go for the one that suits the job. You know which one would be best for your needs.

      Most Silkys have two lock slots in the blade. The straight Gomboy does if i remember correctly.

      @@n1bruva Thanks for the comment ;) No one uses the second position anyway, it's for pruning overhead i think.

      Bought one today. The blade has a second notch for the angled position. It's for cutting something on a flat surface to allow room for your hand.

    Hi Paul you nearly twated that blade ur holding the wood wrong for cutting put less pressure on the wood your cutting and you’ll have less problems. Stay safe

    Ive decided on Silky and 210 and cannot decide between straight, curve, large or medium teeth. How to decide?

      Curved with large teeth

      @@nathanbigsby8731 Thanks....would you say the large teeth cut faster but dont bite too much and get stuck?

    Do Silky saws have to be sharpened?

    • @wjhedgepeth71
      @wjhedgepeth71 5 років тому +1

      The smaller Silky saws are impulse hardened and last a ridiculously long time. However, they can't be sharpened. One UA-camr has had his for 6+ years and it's still cuts like crazy and that's after heavy use.

    You would be better shooting in 1080, smaller files and not much difference in playback on UA-cam.

    • @PaulBissekerBushcraft
      @PaulBissekerBushcraft  5 років тому +1

      Gopro looks a bit naf in 1080 after YT has mangled it. Some of my older stuff is 1080p. If you watch 4k footage in 1080 it looks a lot better.
