oh man, I was starting to feel like an idiot. This is the first tutorial that made sense to me. I had the system running in a couple of minutes. Thank you so much!
I never had a problem with the wifi on any Soundcraft mixer, first Ui12 and especially now with the Ui24R. I understand people probably had some problems when placing them on the stage and then going 10 to 20 meters away to mix, sure but when on the stage with me there is absolutely zero problems with the integrated WiFi.
UI 24r with no access to mixer using external router. I have been working on a new UI 24r Mixer for hours. All I wanted to do was to setup the external router. I have done this with three other UIs but this new one had me beat. Followed the directions on multiple websites with no avail. I finally took the UI out of the SKB case to see if the Ethernet port was damaged and Crap. there it was, staring me in the face. The router was plugged into the "Ethernet2" port. Crap, I wasted all my time on this. Anyway, the router must in in the "Ethernet" port to work. Also, the Ethernet cable must be plugged into the "LAN" port. Not the "WAN" port.
Do you know, how many complete complicated explanations or „fairy tales“ exist in the www, that try to explain how to connect the UI with an external router? Horrible! And you show it in an completely easy way! Unbelievable, I first couldnt believe it, but however it sounded logical. I thank you very much. You saved my day. 😀👍👍👍🙋♂️
Excellent but how do you get the ui16 on one side of the screen and the router on the other? I’m not very computer savvy and this probably sounds stupid but that’s where I’m at. Thanks for a terrific video!
I still don't get it, sorry. I've been having all the problems in the world losing wifi with my ipad. Are you hooking up the external router directly to the UI24r's port 1 at this point? And if so, will that allow me to hard line a laptop into the router to get to the Ui24r and ALSO utilize my ipad wirelessly by logging in to the router? Please help!!!
Hi , I am in process of setting up a static IP on my ETHERNET LAN network settings on my lap. Netgear is forcing me to use an IP address in my DHCP range and I dont want to do that as all my static IP's should not overlap on my DHCP. Any advice appreciated to overide this?
The IP address would obviously need to be within the range of the router IP but you can limit the DHCP servers (in the router) IP address range to say just to to 100, while all your other Static IP devices can be over the 100 number as an example
I hooked it up this way I thought. When I connect via the IP address it comes up then suddenly I get Connecting error message and it stops controlling the mixer. What is going on?
the ROUTER has an IP address 0.1 We need to assign an IP address to the Ui mixer in the same range, any number will do if it's not being used by another device, so I gave it 60, could have been 5 10 15 (anything upto 254). You then need an IP address for the controlling device as well (the computer or IPAD) as long as the ROUTER can supply the address and it's in the same range 192.168.0.xxx then it will work. You then enter the IP address of the UI in your browsers menu. Every device needs a unique IP in the same range, that's the rule. The numbers don't matter so much.
@@mix-record-connect9938 Can you clarify what you mean by "every device needs a unique IP in the same range"? Let's say I have 2 devices I'm trying to connect to the external router (1 iPad and 1 iPhone) - do you mean that I need to manually assign a unique IP address to each one of those devices? I have been attempting to assign the same IP address to each device (for instance, 192.168.0.60 on the router, iPad, and iPhone) - the iPad will connect OK, but the iPhone either fails to connect, or it connects - but with both devices unstable and constantly disconnecting. So, in your example, the router is assigned 192.168.0.60; iPad would be assigned something like IP Address 192.168.0.65 (Subnet mask 255.255.255.0, Router 192.168.0.1), and iPhone would be assigned something like IP Address 192.168.0.70 (Subnet mask 255.255.255.0, Router 192.168.0.1)?
I'm having a similar issue; I can't figure out what IP to enter, I have the correct Router IP and the submask set, but the IP isn't working. I am NOT using the LAN option though as I don't have another Router besides my home network. I'm trying to connect using the UI16's wifi option via my home internet network so that I can control the UI from a browser that is still connected to the internet (I can use the hotspot the UI sends out, but then I cannot browse the interest as well, so I am trying to get it to work without using the hotspot). What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated as Soundcraft has not answered any of my questions. Thanks so much!
Hi I'm trying to follow all this but still having trouble I have Ethernet cable from ui Ethernet 1 to router 2.4 then one of the four outs to macbook. Went in through hotspot and manually put in the up address on the "LAN" Enabled LAN. POWER CYCLED THE UI. Connected to that router with password through Ethernet. Put the up address in browser. Nothing??? Also I tried connecting to the router with same info in the wi-fi on the ui And that automatically disconnected the hotspot? Then had to connect to a monitor via the hdmi to get back in. Help please
You better let us know what IP addresses you set up and what IP address your router is set to as well. A good group to assist you is the Soundcraft ui24R facebook user group. Obviously one step you are missing somewhere.
either, both can work, router connected to Ui or the hotspot, if you have a router with the Ui then that would be more powerful. But you need to enter an IP address on the IPAD if using a router not just the UI.IO address.
this is probably a stupid question. Do I need a router if I'am controlling the mixer with my phone? Do I need a laptop to make it work with the router? Ok sorry 2 stupid questions lol
Anybody having issues with ui24r wifi being unusable at times? It just recently started happening to me, I get locked out and either being unable to connect or connecting but not getting access to the console. Seems to bug out and go back on it's own somehow. Could use any information regarding the problem.
This is only due to WIFI traffic or other traffic in the 2.4G frequency range. Have you changed to 5G, have you setup an external router? Please also join the FB Ui24R group so others may assist you further. (over 7000 users there)
@@mix-record-connect9938 No, I haven't changed to 5G yet, I will give it a go. I am waiting for a tech guy to set me up with an external router, but at the moment I have to work with what I got. I'll try going 5G tomorrow. Joining the facebook page right now.
It's called a Static IP address, you can create your own as long as it's the same RANGE. just search Static IP address on google, it can explain it to you.
Is any one able to start the configuration from the beginning where you do not have access to the Ui24r 10.10.2.1 does not work 10.10.1.1 does not work It like having a car that you don't have the key to drive it !!

My wife and kids almost packed up and left due to the meltdown I was having trying to get this mixer too work. You saved my marriage sir

finally someone who explains things clearly. thank you
You have saved me, Thank you so much for your clear instructions.
You make it so easy! Thank you.

Does this mixer Ui24R hangs during show
Asking because I heard some
Echo Tech it does hang during the show it’s not so reliable
Thanks a lot for a very helpful video!

Wouldn’t there be a possible conflict from other dhcp devices with the UI at set at 60 if you set the DHCP range include 60
If you think you are going to have that many devices connected to your router, but that's highly unlikely to occur in the real usage of the device.

If you’re stuck on that administrative page just type “admin” for both user and password.
hello dear i have problems with wifi.so one question in this demo you have your mix connected with cable rj 45 to the router?thanks for your time
yes, simple as that.
maybe a dumb question. How do you open up two browsers? Wifi, I'm good. then the router. How? Thanks
in your PC/MAC - reduce the browser size, Open another instance, Log into your Router (by entering it's IP address)

Can tenda Ac1200 device connect ui16 divice
No reason why not.
Does the UI give you the mac address?
It does have a MAC address, the easiest would probably be to see it in the connection list on a router.

You should rename this video to make it easier for people to find. "Soundcraft Ui external router setup" or something.
