    hi im from brazil ! here this airrifle are very popular ... i own 2 of them .177 and .22 ... this rifles last forever ... only thing you will need to do .. is replace o rings and stuff ... you should put a nitro piston on it ... is really easy to install ...
    regular springs dont last long .. well good luck my friend

      It actually had a nitro piston in it 2 of the times it broke, I worked with Gamo directly but it was decided that it was an engineering flaw. Still a super accurate gun!

    Get a crosman. I have a crosman redtail 22,and it keeps going now for several years without any problems. Greetings from South Africa.

    I was thinking of getting this rifle so stumbled upon your video. Very informative. I have 3 other rifles and always worry about the longevity ishue with the one springer I have. It's new and I don't do a whole lot of target shooting. In fact, I don't believe any of them are even broken in yet. I'm a fairly knowlege-able guy about metals and hardness and how bearing surfaces interact with each other. An example would be in a car where the piston and cylinder are. The two do not actually rub together but are seperated by a film of oil. Wear only comes when over time the oil picks up so much carbon and loses its viscosity. Nitro piston or not they both drive a piston or plunger in a cylinder that provides pressure that blows the pellet down the barrel. So the piston seal and its chamber is where special attention should always be of concern and care. Use the best lubricant you can get. And do it often. And there are non flammable lubes out there if you are worried about that. I use a few bits of cotton lightly pushed in the chamber so there isn't enough pressure build up to ignite. Do it two times is enough. Keep the barrel clean. Lead is soft sure, but do you know if there are any impurites in it? Water is soft, but it can over time wear down a mountain. You know in a factory that the imperfect or deformed pellets get thrown back in the melting pot over and over again. Somewhere there is a guy with a shovel doing just that. Do you lubricate your pellets? A guy here on the tube has a video of cleaning and lubing pellets. I was supprised at how dirty the water was. A benifit was his accuracy improved alot with clean lubed pellets. Another thing some guys do is take thier guns completly apart before using and clean everything. And cylinder bores polished like a mirror..A plus of 100-160 fps. Well just some things to think about when you get with them in the future. Hey what about a piston with 3 times the surface area?

    it is a budget air rifle for 200 dollar so whats the difference from gamo to air arms if they can last for so long you may want to step up your equipment to a weihrauch or air arms - buy once cry once but 3 times ya know what going to happen again there is a limit on patients - good luck happy shooting. Love The Honesty and The Fairness of Your videos : I too expect more from GAMO ; and as beloved as they are to Me and My Family ( Who descend from The Father Land ) I will deliver the other side of the coin ... and if it’s tails : I will call them jack asses with the same tongue that praised them when they got it right ... but I’m glad to hear they switched out the spring for the Nitro Piston ... My first GAMO SPRINGER took a lot of punishment ; and couldn’t hold air over night . She was the first turbo whisper .22 Big Bertha air canon that Cabelas’ sold faster than sardines at a cat house ... but after 2 years of country living ; and running more lead through her than a Gattlin’ gun ... Well, She got replaced by a bare bones WildCat whisper .22 that without sights or optics ( just aiming down the barrel like You would a single load shot gun) I can do with it what I need to while out camping . Put a GAMO rocket through a trespassers’ south paw ; and had it reloaded like a minute man on speed ; and I have dropped fox and Coyotes with body shots , using this gas piston motor scooter ; and I leave her cocked for days sometimes while traveling ... don’t bother her one bit ... Hope Your new tuned up underlever serves You as well. Love Your videos . Keep them coming

    Im liking the videos. Just came across yours today. Its nice to see springers in long range shooting. I got a few modded guns but love to use my simple benjamin classic .22. I did a Gas ram conversion on it with some trigger work. Got er down to 1/2 ", 5 shot group at 41 yards, and 4" at 91 yards. Ill check out the rest of your videos. (Edit** i do have a few videos)

      Sweet. I know what you mean, most folks haven't even started to push the limitations of these guns yet. My Accu is currently at Gamo for their staff to look at after 19,000 rounds and they are hooking me up with a gas piston of their own to try out. Should be fun!

    I've had good relationships with Battenfeld Technologies, (they own and market Caldwell Shooting Supplies). Josh and the other fella are great customer service reps. Great to talk to and deal with. Hatsan and Crosman have been to more customer reps I've dealt with and got good results. My Caldwell Deluxe chronograph was having problems. But he worked with me to resolve the problems. Including sending me the white LED light kit that replaced my IR lights that came in the kit. FREE! Then they replaced the unit...also FREE! My chronograph was about a year old, and they stood behind their product100%! Hatsan sent me 2 of their scope stop kits for an experiment I performed on my Striker 1000x to solve the scope walk problem. They gave me the scope stops FREE! And Crosman is always a great bunch of folks to work with. $4 flat rate shipping, no matter how much you order. Parts and seals are very low priced from Crosman too!

    The Gamo barrels are hammer forged steel.. they will never wear out..so if it's getting less accurate, just clean it with a wire boar brush...then solvent on some cleaning patches.. it will be good as new..

      Actually different companies have differing hardness standards for barrels. Gamo, for example has different standards for different tiers of barrels. I always use coated rods because of this, it is fairly soft actually compared to the hardness of a cleaning rod stainless steel. Eventually steel wears on steel, I should have been more careful about that.

      Also, never use solvent in piston pellet rifles. Air gun companies pretty much all include that in their manual.

      @@GTMGunTotinMinnesotan I just came across this video you did on the Gamo Accu 177, and I realize it was made a couple years ago. I recently bought this same rifle up here in Canada - obviously old stock as I believe they are now discontinued. I read the manual but don’t recall seeing anything saying I shouldn’t use solvent in the barrel. In fact I did because it was so heavily coated in sticky oil. I put dry patches through it after cleaning/brushing with solvent, and I’ve put about 50-60 pellets through it since, so hopefully there’s no solvent residue. Would you suggest I do anything else to clean the barrel? I’be also read many reviews on this rifle suggesting it be stripped down to clean excess grease out of the piston/spring assembly. Would you recommend this, and if so, is it relatively straightforward to disassemble? I’m very capable mechanically and have a wide selection of tools, so I’m comfortable doing it. Thanks in advance for any advice on this, or any other suggestions you can offer!!

    Would these be worth buying now or should I try the umarex synergy

    • @GTMGunTotinMinnesotan
      @GTMGunTotinMinnesotan  5 років тому

      I would still recommend this over the synergy because of the trigger and accuracy. If Umarex didn't have an 8lb trigger on their gun it would have been great.

    from my research these guns are factory packed with too much grease which makes them diesel promoting spring failure, whats more the gamo springs are just not great, solution is to clean upon arrival and later get after market spring/seal, not too hard to do, sending gun out is too pricey.

    Is accu 177 gas piston or spring?

    • @GTMGunTotinMinnesotan
      @GTMGunTotinMinnesotan  6 років тому +1

      It came as a spring, but after 19,000 rounds and multiple breaks Gamo put in an IGT for me

      I'm sure those are fine guns. I just decided to stick to powder burning rifles until the air gun companies can produce non-junk at realistic costs. Too much monkey business on these toys for me.
