After a number of failed brews, I finally found something that worked. Aeropress. 18g coffee ground on Ode Gen 2 on 6. Water @ 195F. Quick pour to 200g. Stir 3 times. Wait until 1:30. Stir twice and press. Top off with 100g water. The coffee was really nice and bright. Floral with ripe peach notes and some earthy undertones.
I’d love for Fellow to do more espresso guides with their Fellow Drops coffees. Really enjoyed having the espresso guide a few drops ago. Ideally y’all could do both for most of your drops so we can enjoy the coffee both ways!
Typically our Drops are suuuuper exclusive and only featured in our Drops program! We can sometimes make an exception to that rule and feature a little of the Drop coffee in store-- keep your eyes peeled :)
I'm having a hard time with this one. Very surprised about the medium/fine grinding recommendation... I'm getting easy over-extraction and bitter notes with ˜3:20 brew times (I'm already avoiding the recommended extra agitation...). I'm considering using a melodrip to try to maintain the grind size, but I'm wondering why the big difference of my experience vs. the recommended recipe. How are others experiencing this one?
haven't been able to get one decent cup yet with recommended recipe or changing it up... the fact that the beans are 25 days old is likely not helping.
I'm getting similarly bitter/poor notes even with 2:26 drain times (using Kalita 155 and a 15g dose) with a 5.0 on SSP setting. Feels like a coffee that might have tasted ok 7-14 days post roast, but this one is 26 days past roast and doesn't feel lively at all.
Same here. Can’t seem to get anything from this coffee despite various brew methods and recipes. Definitely a disappointment after hearing so many great things about this roaster and finally getting to try them.
@@dbarneschi Manhattan IS an amazing roaster, I’ve tried a few different coffees from them and they’re used at a couple local shops and your best bet honestly is to order directly from them if you can’t find them locally. A shop near me always sells their Letty or Diego Bermudez and they are some of the best coffees I have ever tasted, hands down. Whatever this is, is not Manhattans fault.
Just received my 2 bags … paid almost $70 for a limited coffee that was roasted 23 days ago… seems you guys are still struggling to get this right. Really frustrating.
I agree, very underwhelming, overpriced, and not fresh. I understand that coffee needs to rest for a period of time but 3weeks is pushing it and I'd also like to be the one to dictate when I brew coffee based on roast date.
Made 3-4 cups over the weekend, all really underwhelming. I’ve tried several coffees from Manhattan and they have all been absolutely incredible, this is the first time I’ve been disappointed and I’m sure they wouldn’t be thrilled about the fact that I received the beans just over 3 weeks after the roast date… especially for an “exclusive lot”
This is definitely a bean flavor I've never experienced. It's not my favorite or least favorite. Falls in the middle zone of my personal taste pallette. I'll finish through the batch quick through cold brewing.
Was this already shipped out if we ordered on Tuesday? I never received tracking which is very unusual compared to past drops. I shot an email over by had not hear anything yet so just checking if anyone else got tracking

Thanks for sharing! Love to hear how coffee is brewing in different places / climates, with different water. It all makes a difference to a dial!
@hallie
It would be nice if you shared grind settings across more of your ode burr options. At least always default for both ode gen 2 burrs and SSP

Very helpful feedback! We are actively working on more 'spro (nerdy shorthand for 'espresso') inclusion-- thanks for being patient with us!
I am excited to try a Diego Bermudez coffee and a Manhattan coffee. I hope the abbot Kinney store will carry this one!

Would this coffee work in a espresso?
Absolutely. I’d assume it would extract very fruit forward / punchy, and downright fluffy in mouthfeel
What grind setting would you recommend for a normie with Ode Gen 1 stock burrs?
I must meet this Diego. Just got my bag of beans it’s so wonderful, especially with the recommended brew measurements
An excellent Diego indeed!

I was equally disappointed!

Yea, just receivedine today and saw that roast date of March 2nd...25 days is a stretch
Anyone using aeropress with this coffee? Any recommendations for recipe/ brew parameters?
Anyone know how this recipe would translate to a v60 or kalita method?

Got mine today, never got tracking info.l
@@neoncellgap2510 good to know. I did receive an email there was a technical issue sending out tracking. Hopefully it arrives soon
Gen 2 SSP burrs? I think you just meant gen 2 burrs
Whoops, I should have clarified! I meant Ode Gen 2 with SSP Burrs on board, insead of Ode Gen 2 with our Gen 2 Burrs on board
@@hailiehay interesting - that's a fair bit finer than you've been recommending on SSP
