CATCHING The MOST EXPENSIVE FISH in TINY CREEK!

  • In today's video, I catch an exotic species of invasive fish called Vieja cichlids! These fish have made their way into a small area in south Florida and have taken over the canals! I tried catching the most of these expensive fish as I could, and ended up taking the prettiest one home for my tank, and the rest I stocked into my pond!

I moved to Florida 5 years ago. I live on the east coast. I love your videos! It's so cool that you find exotic fish in canals! When my kids were young we had a lot of pets. Ornamental pheasants, peacock, mandarin and wood ducks outside. Salt water fish, seahorses, fresh water fish, dart frogs, geckos, hedgehog, snakes, etc. and my favorite...red eyed tree frogs. People called our home a zoo and kids loved it.

You should go visit a tropical fish farm and you will understand how so many fish get into the waterways. They keep the fish outside in concrete vaults that constantly have water going in and water going out of the bottom. Some have large ponds where escaped fish grow and get big. During a storm everything floods and sometimes they loose all their stock.

The "ja" in vieja is pronounced "ha". J's in Spanish usually sound like H's in English. Just started watching your videos. The aquarium ones. I'm an aquarium nut. I was VP of an aquarium club for 3 years and secretary for 4 years before that... Damn! I think I could move to South Florida and just run around with a net and a bucket and be happy for the rest of my life. This looks so much fun!

It's actually one of my favorite fish and I mean he obviously has caught them quite a few times, to not even try to learn about the fish(especially simply pronouncing the name)had me almost turning the video off. Ï don't help for some reason he said the name about 100 times in a10 minute video haha. It's VEE-A-HA VEE-A-HA VEE-A-HA!!!!
