Way too many hypotheticals were thrown into this when she provided all of the details.. 2 months in he asked to borrow $4K to subsidize his child support payments. Said he’d pay it back in 4 days. Paid it back in 4 days.
Let’s just deal with the facts. Dude was in a jam and was completely transparent with the person he was likely spending the most time with at that point. In a moment of desperation, he tucked his pride and asked, likely knowing he would be shamed for it, whether she said yes or no. He handled it in a noble manner and he was still publicly shamed for it. Granted we don’t know who he is. I hope dude is doing well.
They would have to remain boyfriend and girlfriend because courts look at marital income.
People are saying 2 months is far too soon of a time frame to ask for that type of money and that's reasonable. But Gayle did feel comfortable enough to loan him the money to begin with and he also paid her back like Ice said in a timely manner. Sometimes life happens and you gotta do what you need to do.

I had that twice where a man asked me for money. The one time i was younger and he did the i forgot my wallet thing and i with no thought paid for our date. I NEVER paid for anything again, he paid for everything simply a test i guess.
The second time i was dating someone and he was shaky about committment and had all type of excuses as to why we couldnt spend time together outside of hunching. I told him no, i dont lend money to people i dont have a foundation with.
So context matters. If his actions were bummy all along he could be taking it to the next step by taking money from you.

I would be inclined to agree, but she did say that he was able to pay her back in a timely manner. It's possible that life happened, and unexpected expenses started to pile up. Also Gayle felt comfortable enough to actually loan him the money, so even though they had only known each other for 2 months it seemed to be a reasonable amount of time.
