In this video I accidentally referred to the hardener as reducer and if it got confusing I will clear it up for you here. The primer is meant to be used with 2% HARDENER. My second time spraying the primer I still did use 2% hardener as well as using additional REDUCER to thin out the primer for my smaller spray tip. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for watching.
You killed it dude, really enjoyed this video, all the explanation step by step, the attention to detail and effort you put into getting the best finish possible is very impressive I'm sure Kyle is going to be a very happy customer.
I have several of those paint guns hanging up in my garage shop. I learned to paint on those growing up since we painted our own tow trucks. Nice work!
Really like how you explain the whole process so well. You have inspired me to fix my stuff a little more proper. I fixed 2 curbed wheels using bondo, paint matched cans and Spray Max 2k clear. The wheels turned out really clean, then the damn tire shop used clip-on wheel weights on alloy wheels. 😤
Looks good. You definitely do better than the 24 hour rustolium paint job I did. Up in New York we run winter vehicles and I obtained a truck with 4 different color pannels on it and just painted it rustolium Grey and it was 1 color and shiny. I was happy with it.
I've been using feather fill for many years with a 3.5 tip. Gets it on there quick and awesome build you can get them panels straight as can be with it! Always enjoy your videos man you do a great job!
I bought me a paint gun for 20$ aswell, and I painted my first car last weekend, had no idea what I did, but it looks good! Just watched some videos on youtube, "how to paint a car". Fun to see the hatch finally get the job done on it, keep it up man!✌🏻
I find it so cool that even though you got a $20 gun, you still used an in-line filter + a pressure regulator, giving it a fighting chance, nice work man! On another subject; is there a way I can subscribe more than once!?
You have two or you end up with junk results.. bad prep bad end result a lot of times when you use cheaper things you got to do every single thing you can to give it its best chance at success
Exactly right if you did not use a filter and pressure regulator you can allow water or oil to go through the spraygun and mix with the paint vapour and it then lands on the panel and is trapped below the paint where it can cause all sorts of reactions like micro blisters crazing peeling and even de laminating or corrosion as primer is mostly hydroscopic which means it absorbs water you must use an in line filter
Rather than paint sticks on the window rubber , I would use some cord or string . It holds it up enough to get paint under the edge and when you are done you just pull the string and the rubber lays right back down .
I'm here fer the long haul. You do amazing work and prove every day that it doesn't take a million dollar body shop operation to get show quality finishes. Great job, sir.
I am here because of the boostedboiz, but you actually have great production for a one man operation, and I enjoy the videos even the ones not about Kyle's hatch.
Also the evercoat finish sand high build isn't as thick. Feather fill us like the slick sand. Finish Sand mixes 4:1 and I always throw 10% reducer. I highly recommend you try it. Iv used it with a 1.8 tip.
Hey, cool thing about those weird horizontal shadow bars in the footage from the paint booth: LED lights flash on and off at a certain Hertz per second, usually a multiple of 30, your eye can’t see it but it’s just fractions of a frame per second faster than any multiples of the frames per second of the camera (29.97 instead of 30), because of this you see lines and they move kinda like a helicopter rotor at a slightly different speed than the frame rate of a camera! Incandescent and florescent lights don’t flicker because they use a material to give off light that has an on/off response time slower than the flicker rate of the power source so it smooths it out.
Im not gonna lie I got mad when u said that deleted diesel sounds like crap in the beginning because I own one 😂 but I still watch all ur videos! Keep it up!
Big fan try to stay away from polyester primer go with 2 part urethane filler primer my experience with the polyester it cracks it’s basically fiberglass resin with pigment.
First video I’ve seen of yours and I knew that was a TL in the first 10 seconds just by the seats haha. I’ll be sticking around for a while to say the least.
Looking good Adam, it's surprising how much prep work you have to do on a car then have nothing to show for it at the end as it's all about getting the panels straight but you are making good progress. I'm not a lover of those syphon spray guns for the reason you mentioned, I'm sure they have their place but that's not on my gun rack😂👍John UK.
All my years with a system I've never had a power wire melt the safety in the amp will kick before the fuse even blows lol I'm sure it's good safety but with that small system I doubt you would have any trouble great videos bro how's the floor in the house be cool for an update and was curious I have saw some painters using a blow gun and a static rag was curious what your take was on that amazing videos as always and congrats on 100k
Been watching since the pepto. Keep up the content brother and I love when your little girl crashes the party. Reminds me of when mine b4 the teenage demon took over haha. Love watching brother. Do Kyle's civic right! It needs some love for sure
I always used Siphon guns to paint my cars, never a problem.....even car customizers used them back in the day.... You need to go to lowriders school in California to learn how its done.....

its awesome to see you doing it up right. As a former body apprentice, you are teaching me some things I never thought about
Your videos are the few were I will watch a repair and sanding B roll. DOPE

Watching these videos is giving me more confidence for when I try to paint my celica this year! Thanks for being so detailed
Great work
Kinda funny seeing all that work going into making this body straight and perfect. After seeing it for so many years.
Going to be great.
Man I'm excited to see the outcome. You're doing an excellent job!
With that thorough of blocking, it makes sense why your bodywork comes out so straight!
28 years in collision and restoration, glad to see a tuber ,taking the time to do thing well the ls honda is killer by the way

Of all the pro and shadetree painters ive learned from on youtube bro you make it make sense.
Great job, that air powered block sander is very cool tool
Just realized this is the same harbor freight I used to go to when I lived in FL. Paint job came out amazing though
I've been using feather fill for many years with a 3.5 tip. Gets it on there quick and awesome build you can get them panels straight as can be with it! Always enjoy your videos man you do a great job!
This is a true body guy makes every paint job show quality that's what up! I'd have him paint anything of mine for sure!
I’m so glad you didn’t clickbait me into watching you work on any other car but Kyle’s.
Man, I haven't used feather fill in 35 years. You did the right thing not using an expensive gun, hard to get one clean after using that product.
Came to this channel just to watch you work on the hatch, and I'm really liking it! They way you film, and your personality is great!
Thanks for much for checking them out
You're editing skill's are getting much better! You're killin it keep pushing bud.

Fun to see the hatch finally get the job done on it, keep it up man!✌🏻
I only own a high pressure pot sprayer and a half a dozen gravity gun's and that's all I use for everything that needs priming and final coats
Love your bodywork sir, you definitely got some skills there. Can tell that EK is about to get back to it's legendary status. 👌
your videos are improving exponentially since i first watched you paint the first car for Kyle. Keep it up

Ol hobo freight actually had some pretty decent guns especially if your just learning or don't need a sata/DeVil/ etc
I’ve used that same gun to paint my hatch and s13 and it did just fine . Way better then rattle can
Rope around the screen mould works
I am here because of the boostedboiz, but you actually have great production for a one man operation, and I enjoy the videos even the ones not about Kyle's hatch.

Always killing it
More youtubers should contact you 😊

I always preferred gravity fed guns, that way I get to use every last drop of product as much possible.
I wish you were in my state to get work done by you on the cars I have that need body work and paint
Came here for the hatch but I’ll stay for the knowledge
It ain't the cost of the gun but the painter that wields it.
So I went to jail in the middle of this video now I'm out and waiting on my ride finishing it 😅
Been watching since the pepto. Keep up the content brother and I love when your little girl crashes the party. Reminds me of when mine b4 the teenage demon took over haha. Love watching brother. Do Kyle's civic right! It needs some love for sure
