Well I mean, if you haven’t read Jekyll & Hyde, I wouldn’t quite claim that. The musical is entirely different from the book. There are no love interests in the book, and Jekyll isn’t even a decent dude. So if you’re crying over the musical that’s one thing, because same. But I personally couldn’t even force myself to cry over the book, because I have zero sympathy for book Jekyll, whereas musical Jekyll tears me to pieces because he doesn’t deserve this.
I cried over the musical and Lanyon's death, as well as the fact that Utterson loses his two long-time best friends and now he only has his cousin, Mr. Enfield, to keep him company.

This song is awesome. It sucks for Dr. Jekyll though because he thinks that it is going to be the best and sweetest moment of his life and then BAM! He becomes an evil murderer.
It's just so heartbreaking. In this moment, he's hopeful and happy. He believes this to be a turning point for him in life, (at least a good one) and gets to prove himself to all those who doubted and laughed at him. To hear him sound so hopeful, then listen to a song like "Confrontation", it's so tragic and heart-wrenching to see such a hopeful heart turn to darkness and end in tragedy
+Wysteria the fact most people misunderstand between the book and the musical is that in this, Hyde was a tragic side effect, in the book, it was a monster of jekylls creation that, for a while, he had full control of. He just enjoyed living out his desires as Hyde, so he never stopped. It wasn't until the murder of sir danvers that he realized he had gone too far
+Mascro1977 Its suposed that Hide is the dark side of all the people that had to live under stupid presure and whit no real feeling or honest expresion or what humanity is, and the potion could be alcohol or any drug that let that presure explode in to very disgusting desires.
I watched him sing this yesterday here in Melbourne at Jekyll & Hyde 25th anniversary concert. The live performance was even better than the recordings, it was a dream come true for me to watch my favourite musicthist starring in my favourite musical. Jemma Rix as Lisa was also amazing.

I'm glad you enjoy it! I mean, it's hard not to, haha. This is the concept album, so it was made before it was staged, and these performers never performed it together on stage (from what I know).
anmaeli Oh, I see, THAT’s what it means! Well, no matter, it sounds wonderful, the BEST I’ve heard of these numbers. I have Linda Eder’s pop cover version of “Someone like you”, for example, and in that, she does NOT necessarily sound like a creature of the theatre, as she sounds so dedicated, almost DESPERATELY beautiful, as Lucy in this album. Thanks again for posting. I really was flabbergasted and spellbound!
I can't help but feel bad for Jekyll. Yes, he is a rich doctor, but he seems to have remants of a child's innocence. All he wants, is to help mankind's struggle with their personal demons, but he doesn't see the reality a bit. As humans, we have to fight our personal demons until our very death. THAT is our curse. Looking from a Christian point of view, which I do, the thing that determines whether we become pure evil, or just flawed, there is a difference, is if we reject God's love He still has for man. WE are responsible for ourselves. WE choose to either be Jekyll, or sign our spiritual suicide, and become Hyde FOREVER. Jekyll is one of my favorite characters in literature, and it is saddening to see what happens to him.

THIS actor, the brilliant and talented Anthony Warlow, is going to play THIS musical on October 25th, 26th and November 2nd in Australia. It's Jekyll and Hyde 25th anniversary. I wish we could have a recording of this special performance. ;)
Thanks for uploading this! Top 10 musical for sure, Woke up singing this song today, looked for a cassette(!) from 1990 and couldn't find. Was in Houston when this show premiered in 1990, Chuck Wagner (awesome!) and Linda Eder. Can you imagine, $18 to see this Broadway worthy show at the Alley. Unbelievable. There was already talk to take it to Broadway. It broke box office records in Houston with great reason. Always wondered by Wagner didn't go with it to Broadway, anyone know? As great as Warlow is, doesn't hold a candle to Wagner's performances, to give you an idea. Powerful and moving. The man doesn't need a mic, what a presence. Super nice guy, too, met him a the after party. Humble too. Linda was a sweetheart too. What a voice as well! The whole cast was solid, Gregory Boyd directed. Still can't believe I saw this show for $18, 3rd row, center! Attended a half dozen times, it was awesome. Thanks again. Great weekend everyone!
I have listened to more than 10 renditions of this song on YT. Most of them are very good, but this is my favourite version. Not least because of Warlow’s vocal prowess. 👏👏👏👏
I love this version of the show, it gives a much better identification of jekylls mind and becomes more of a trip into his personalty but still follows the story perfectly.
This song is very inspiring and the way he sang it really bring out the emotion needed in this song as well as the emotion in us listener! What a voice, I mean look at the notes he held at the end of this song, truly magnificient.
@@littlemissmatsuo39 Mhm, most likely not Disney because of how they are right now, but I'm just saying that I would love for the song to be in the trailer.
Listen, your graduation can't have gone much worse than the typical gothic horror villain's. Just look at Frankenstein- that poser didn't graduate, he wasn't even actually a real doctor.
Just a note to everyone driving themselves nuts over how long he holds the final note here... You'd be amazed at the things that can be done in a recording studio. It's a very, VERY different process than performing something live. Take it from someone with a lot of recording studio experience, a BA in Music-Theater, and a year of Master's Degree level Voice studies.
I do agree with you on the great things a soundbooth can do however holding a note for as long as he did isnt really that long so i dont doubt that he held it for that long. In fact i personally know people that can hold notes anywhere from 30 sec. To 1 min. 30 sec. So even though the song was amazing and the last note was perfect i dont think its anything to be amazed at
Luyon Guyen I guess it's not just about holding some note for 20s or so. The point is holding a relatively high note with that power and that perfection for that long. That demands big lungs and great control technique. I can hold a low soft note for about 30s too but it doesn't say anything.
Fabulous rendition...man can this guy sing! The only person I've heard match it was a dear friend of mine that sang it for karaoke nights, and every time left me breathless with tears in my eyes. This song will always make me cry now... rest in peace, Jason Miller.
Dude has some serious iron lungs. The orchestra is going to need to go home in shifts and come back later by the time he runs out of breath. Amazing power and control.
I had this recording once upon a time. It seems I lost it when moving. My children love singing these songs. My favorite is the Girls of the Night, which was cut from the Broadway show.
This May, I'll be graduating college. My Grandmother, who encouraged me to go and said that she wanted nothing more than to be there, passed away mid March from colon cancer. I'm gonna be playing this is my head when I walk...
This is the moment right before everything went to hell. This is the time Jekyll's God complex really took off. And this is one of the greatest final notes of them all.
Google translate version: At this time It's midday When I remove all doubts and demons I am on the way; I went to the gym Any work I do that all the time will live in history Here now, right now At this time At this time every minute in rhythm give me this time maybe it's worth it I collect my past And finally some logic At this time 'Cause I've done everything all dreams He was shocked and screamed be together It's midday Look at the lightning I lived with everyone it belongs to me All but five scales I am alone in this world And now the time has come confirm I've done it myself At this time my final exam I bowed my head to the song was never considered the next best I don't look down on you I have to go down At this time The weather is nice At this time They lost their visibility today and forever I will always stay And God when i look I remember exactly Repeat It's time great moment under all these circumstances
A truly great song that represents the ambition of Man. that sadly if not guided by careful reflection can enter into disaster. An absolutely fantastic score steeped in inspiration and irony.
This is a disney song that doesn't know it's in musical about a murder. It thinks it's going to be sung by a prince going back to his princess. It thinks it's wholesome

I'm about to sing this song or my own graduation.
This speaks to my soul. Someday I will have my moment and I will play this song on that day.
I feel like Ralph Fiennes is singing this.
LYRICS:
JEKYLL:
This is the moment!
This is the day,
When I send all my doubts and demons
On their way!
Every endeavor,
I have made - ever -
Is coming into play,
Is here and now - today!
This is the moment,
This is the time,
When the momentum and the moment
Are in rhyme!
Give me this moment -
This precious chance -
I'll gather up my past
And make some sense at last!
This is the moment,
When all I've done -
All the dreaming,
Scheming and screaming,
Become one!
This is the day -
See it sparkle and shine,
When all I've lived for
Becomes mine!
For all these years,
I've faced the world alone,
And now the time has come
To prove to them
I've made it on my own!
This is the moment -
My final test -
Destiny beckoned,
I never reckoned,
Second Best!
I won't look down,
I must not fall!
This is the moment,
The sweetest moment of them all!
This is the moment!
Damn all the odds!
This day, or never,
I'll sit forever
With the gods!
When I look back,
I will always recall,
Moment for moment,
This was the moment,
The greatest moment
Of them all!

I'm crying this is beautiful 😥
This is our song for my marching band, we listen to this before every competition, and at our Senior Circle.
I love this album... Thank-you for taking the time to upload it.
Where can I get the warlow soundtrack?
Henry you poor boi **hugs** YOU DESERVED BETTER 😖😭
This song is so beautiful, and it’s just inspirational as HELL. I’m ready to face the world now, thanks Anthony Warlow!
This is one of my absolute favorite songs!
I have listened to more than 10 renditions of this song on YT. Most of them are very good, but this is my favourite version. Not least because of Warlow’s vocal prowess. 👏👏👏👏
What a voice! Beautiful song; thank you for sharing.
Anthony Warlow's voice is a gift from God, I can't even.
I love this version of the show, it gives a much better identification of jekylls mind and becomes more of a trip into his personalty but still follows the story perfectly.
I'm mad that I haven't heard anyone audition with this. This c'mon guys, what are you doin-
This song is very inspiring and the way he sang it really bring out the emotion needed in this song as well as the emotion in us listener! What a voice, I mean look at the notes he held at the end of this song, truly magnificient.
If there was a disney 2D animated movie of Jekyll and Hyde ever I would love for this song to be in the trailer ^_^
Yeah, maybe not Disney, but it would be a good animated movie!
@@littlemissmatsuo39 Mhm, most likely not Disney because of how they are right now, but I'm just saying that I would love for the song to be in the trailer.
I would love an animated version of this musical.
Song always makes me feel good inside
I'm going to sing this when I graduate from my community college in a couple of weeks and probably again when I finish my next two years.
Listen, your graduation can't have gone much worse than the typical gothic horror villain's. Just look at Frankenstein- that poser didn't graduate, he wasn't even actually a real doctor.
Thank you Teo Torriate, for sharing. I love it!
This song can a good example to show people when the right moment comes
Just a note to everyone driving themselves nuts over how long he holds the final note here...
You'd be amazed at the things that can be done in a recording studio.
It's a very, VERY different process than performing something live.
Take it from someone with a lot of recording studio experience, a BA in Music-Theater, and a year of Master's Degree level Voice studies.
He's performed this several times on stage for ceremonies and what-not. He did incredibly well live, too.
Bronze Oceans Well, he held the note for that long when singing live on TV too.
I do agree with you on the great things a soundbooth can do however holding a note for as long as he did isnt really that long so i dont doubt that he held it for that long. In fact i personally know people that can hold notes anywhere from 30 sec. To 1 min. 30 sec. So even though the song was amazing and the last note was perfect i dont think its anything to be amazed at
Your comment may be relevant to vocalists who are mere mortals, but Anthony Warlow is in a near-godly singing league of his own.
*bows to Anthony Warlow,
You are Amazing! Well done! Awesome awesome awesome performance
Beautiful song and Voice... 💖
This song sounds like something my parents would slow dance into and honestly I'm here for it.
You have no idea how long I've been looking for these! Thanks a bunch! :D
I love how he talks about sitting with the gods and then Hyde talks about living with satan
I sang this song in this key when Leonardo DiCaprio finally won the oscar.
^
You're awesome :D
haha, yesss!!
That’s amazing
Yes
Dude has some serious iron lungs. The orchestra is going to need to go home in shifts and come back later by the time he runs out of breath. Amazing power and control.
I had this recording once upon a time. It seems I lost it when moving. My children love singing these songs. My favorite is the Girls of the Night, which was cut from the Broadway show.
This May, I'll be graduating college. My Grandmother, who encouraged me to go and said that she wanted nothing more than to be there, passed away mid March from colon cancer.
I'm gonna be playing this is my head when I walk...
Anthony Warlow, my hero of this and many other characters, forever. 👍👍🤩🤩
This is my go to hype song! I’m really hoping listening to this at the start of 2022 doesn’t turn out like it did in the musical
I sing this song every time I have to do my exams.
Me when I'm doing my thesis/research paper
This is the moment right before everything went to hell. This is the time Jekyll's God complex really took off. And this is one of the greatest final notes of them all.
This song is amazing and one of my favorites.
2:34 This is the key change!
I read that as the key changed😂😂
The chills... I love his voice~!
Google translate version:
At this time
It's midday
When I remove all doubts and demons
I am on the way; I went to the gym
Any work
I do that all the time
will live in history
Here now, right now
At this time
At this time
every minute
in rhythm
give me this time
maybe it's worth it
I collect my past
And finally some logic
At this time
'Cause I've done everything
all dreams
He was shocked and screamed
be together
It's midday
Look at the lightning
I lived with everyone
it belongs to me
All but five scales
I am alone in this world
And now the time has come
confirm
I've done it myself
At this time
my final exam
I bowed my head to the song
was never considered
the next best
I don't look down on you
I have to go down
At this time
The weather is nice
At this time
They lost their visibility
today and forever
I will always stay
And God
when i look
I remember exactly
Repeat
It's time
great moment
under all these circumstances
Beautiful - perfect from the first note.

Kim Taehyung, thank you so much. Because of you, I find this amazing masterpiece.
Jekyll: "when all I've lived forrrrrrrer becomes minnnnneeeee"
Hyde: "ours :)"
Wow, this is stunning!
