Wow all these tips and tricks will be so helpful for when I make my new park. Just bingeing this series. So many helpful tips that I never even thought to do.
So much great info. The one thing I noticed that will help with a bit more realism is on your shingles. Not only do they overlap (like you show here) but they are also staggered. So the middle of the one below is in the center of the one on top, and up the roof it continues. That way the water doesn't just go down the vertical line to the roof. Great tips and I will use this info. Much appreciated.
You're very right. This video was more about "how you do it" rather than "what you do for realism" as I get asked for these types of vid a lot. Sorta like a back-to-basics.. If it were in Raygate Lake, for example, I'd have altered the colours, the positioning and yes, as you say stagger them too.
@@Nerdchacho Oh, I gotcha. Great video and thank you for the helpful tips. I imagine these take a while to compile. Looking forward to building my first gazebo thanks to you.
I'm seriously considering it, but at the moment I think it is a no. Purely because I've covered it twice during Raygate Lake (both the "preparing for Phase 2 and Phase 3 Tours) and I don't think I could offer much in the way of advice. But... never say never. If I am hit with inspiration then absolutely, I'll do it :) The other reason for the current "no" is that the lighting in game is already pretty good and to make it "real" you sorta have to break the game. If you don't have a high powered graphics card you end up with horrible glitches and lag if you try and make it realistic.
you should use the key bindings like ctrl x and maybe use the multi selectiont tool to group stuff and make it their own building i make like 1 fulle decorated section and copy paste it with multi selection very ez to make round complex shapes. :) love the video keep up the good work!
You can't use control + X when you have more than one building. Each of the sections of the gazebo is a building.. so none of the usual multi-select and copy stuff applies. That's the flaw with this technique - being a building makes it easier to create but harder to manage. You CAN however do this if you don't use a single gridded piece and you're lucky enough that the advance move places the "centre" in the right place to copy it easily.
I had a question, when I try to add stuff to my building I don't get the three with a plus button to add it. How can I add new parts to my building so it doesn't show up as 4 different buildings. Absolutely love your videos. All your videos is what has gotten me back into this game. My frustration is what made me walk away from it in the first place. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Hey!! If you're on PC then click on the building and then click the little pen icon. That will open the building group editor meaning you can add items to the building. There is also a shortcut that I typically have turned off, but when you have selected your object, there is a tick-box that says "add to building" if you then attempt to add an item to a building you will see a little white message that says "Add To Building Number xxxx". This will then open that editor for you too.. I think it is the same on Console too, but your clicks and taps might be slightly different :)
haha, you don't wat to get involved with custom roofing with brackets. That's a mug's game... (It looks amazing and the work pays off though)... CoasterMonkey uses it as walls in Lake George and it is beautiful!
@@Nerdchacho 😅yeah been loving Moomin and you, not heard of the third of the trinity! Moomins dark ride with voice over was really great and funny! Glad to have found him!

I’m a planet coaster newbie and love your videos this was so educational and helpful, thanks so much.
Tip: when you sellect all to copy, deselect the objects that wil use the same space as a other same object like the center of these tents thingys

You're welcome! Let me know how it goes for you... :)
Awesome vid, once again!
Thanks again! Good stuff in a nice video package!
A great set of tips!
Thought I should take it back to basics for this one... :)
Thanks for the tips, needed help on this
Can you do a video about lighting? I find it pretty hard sometimes to place realistic lighting

@@Nerdchacho Awesome. Thank you! I've been binging your videos. Very helpful and entertaining. Definitely subbed.
GENIUS !!!
Really helpful thanks! I wish we had a little higher build limit on console so that I could do more custom roofing!

I'm envious of how well your peeps use your tables to eat. I can only rarely catch anyone using mine.
What are your system specs? All those pieces you use would tank my machine. Great job though.
