- The Paramount+ Original documentary "Superpower" tells the story of how Sean Penn heads to Ukraine to learn more about the comedic actor turned president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Stream the new documentary on Monday, Sept. 18, exclusively on Paramount+.
I watched that documentary yesterday and it really moved me. Brave Ukrainians fight for their freedom and we need to do everything we can to support them.
My admiration for Sean Penn has only increased over the years. He takes his riches and fame and serves humanity. He could be reclining in mansions like so many others worried only about his own comfort and wealth.

Study at least a little the history of the conflict and you will find out that this confrontation was created by the United States from the beginning of the collapse of the USSR and its culmination in 2014, when the United States provoked the overthrow of the legitimate president of Ukraine and contributed to the bloody massacre in the Donbass. It was the United States that opened Pandora's box in Ukraine! Russia does not start wars, but Russia ends wars, this is the historical mission of Russia.
Zelenskiy defeated Poroshenko in the 2018 elections with 75% support from Ukrainians, promising to restore peace in the Donbas by any means and restore good relations with Russia, his main economic partner. At the time of the election, more than 50% of Ukrainians were in favor of restoring good relations with Russia. In many cities of Ukraine, Ukrainians supported the Russian national football team at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. And now, after 3 months, the policy of Zelensky, who has been on visits to many Western countries, is changing dramatically. And everyone's favorite humorist Zelensky gradually turns into Porosheko over the course of the year. Why ? Because both Poroshenko and Zelensky are most worried about their offshore accounts and are afraid of nationalists. Zelensky officially bans the Russian language throughout Ukraine, and control and penal services have been created that allow fines, including ordinary sellers and doctors who speak Russian. With the consent of the ambassadors of Western countries, he closed 3 TV channels that traditionally promote peace and restore relations with Russia. And now Zelensky has brought disaster to the whole of Ukraine. For 8 years now, Russia has been demanding the implementation of the Minsk agreements, which provided for the return of Donbass to Ukraine on the terms of amending the constitution with the federal status of Donbass and the possibility of electing a government, police and preserving the original Russian language. schools and the opportunity to communicate in Russian everywhere. In 2014, the Ukrainian army killed 14,000 civilians in the Donbass, but in the end suffered a complete defeat.This is a huge figure for a region of 3 million people. For understanding, if you scale to the USA, then this is 1 million 400 thousand victims, including 25 thousand children.
Russia in 2014 could easily conquer Ukraine in a matter of days, but did not. It was Russia that forced the leaders of Donbass (I repeat the leaders of Donbass, not Ukraine) to sit down with Poroshenko and sign the Minsk agreements, which many in Russia considered treacherous. Even then, Donbass demanded that Russia recognize its independence. But Russia then did not take this step and gave Ukarina a chance. For eight years, Poroshenko and Zelensky shied away from implementing the Minsk agreements. And already this year, Zelensky and members of his government openly admitted that they were not going to fulfill these agreements, calling them a noose around the neck of Ukraine. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine on open air called Donbass a cancerous tumor on the body of Ukraine. In January, under pressure from the United States and Britain, Zelensky escalated and moved troops to the line of demarcation with Donbass, as well as multiple launch rocket systems and large-caliber artillery (which is expressly prohibited by the Minsk agreements). Russia also pulled its troops to the Ukrainian border. Biden, Boris, and the Western media raised the cry for a Russian invasion precisely on the basis of what had been scripted ahead of time for Zelensky. Zelensky had to initiate an escalation of the conflict, at first he avoided it, then he was forced and the Ukrainian army began intensive shelling of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics. Residents of Donbass found themselves again in 2014, when there were numerous casualties among the civilian population. It was the Ukrainian army, stuffed with Western weapons and instigated by the West, that unleashed the conflict. Of course, Russia was forced to react.
And Russia responded. But it is just as important to know that Russia did not attack suddenly, as they shout in the West. Putin has given a clear signal to the West and especially to Ukraine. On February 22, considering the “Minsk Agreements” to be completely trampled by Ukraine and the West, Putin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the Donbass republics and at the same time signed an agreement on mutual military assistance with new states on the principle of a NATO agreement. It was a thick red line and a 100% signal that your performances are over and Russia has cut off the way back. And what did Biden or someone else in the West do, someone said stop to Zelensky ???? No . They probably said go for it. Because there have never been such mass shelling of residential buildings in the entire history of the conflict, as it was on February 22, 23. Yes, and Russia did not stand aside, but fulfilled its obligations to the republics of Donbass. The West had a chance to resolve the issue peacefully, but the West trampled on it.From the very beginning, the United States and Great Britain aspired to this scenario in order to accuse Russia of aggression and the imposition of sanctions. At the same time, what will happen to Ukraine does not concern them. The enemy has taken place, now US and GB will unite the collective West and tear Europe away from Russia.
And also to blame on Russia all the economic and energy problems caused by the so-called "Green Deal", underfunding of traditional energy in the West, helicopter post-covid money printed in 4-6 trillion in the US and the EU, torpedoing in EU by the Poles and the British under the dictation of the United States back in the 2010-15s of a long-term 10-20 year old gas contracts (linked to the price of oil) with Russia and the transition of most contracts to short-term speculative contracts ,which has largely dispersed gas prices today. Western politicians will attribute all these failures to problems that happened because of Russia.

President Biden signed the law on Lend-Lease on May 9, 2022, but from that moment nothing was delivered to Ukraine under Lend-Lease. I went to Ukraine a year before the war broke out. It was a happy place. they had flowery Meadows and rainbow skies and rivers made of chocolate where the children laughed and played with gumdrop smiles

It was an extremist right side government that was killing the south east area cause they were culturally connected to Russia. Never forget, that on day 1 of the war Zelensky met with Sean Penn to shoot this, rather then to tell his people how to save themselves. He knew that the war would start & did not warn his people, but sent his wife & children to Switzerland days before, same as his whole inner circle. This documentation is a priority for the two actors- Penn & Zelensky.
Whoever was worried and could leave before Feb 24 did leave. Don’t blame everything on one person only. Zelensky stayed despite offers to be evacuated and has done much more benefit than he did harm. Saying this as a Ukrainian.
