I never blanched zuccini but have shredded it into bags for making bread later for a friend and she has done it that way for years she just drains it before making bread after thawing! We are all still alive! Lol! But your way I'm going to do for stir frying later in season to store ! Love your channel n family - great job! God bless you all!

Thanks for the video. I have an abundance of zucchini this year and want to preserve it. I knew about the blanching, but haven't tried the extra step of freezing it before packing, so I'm giving that a whirl. Hope you're feeling better. Thanks!

G'day folks...I pray you get well quick...When the zucs were huge my mum used to stuff them with a mince mix, greek style, delish........here's a hint- don't throw away the water you boil vegies in..............either reduce it and freeze for a great soup stock....you can combined a bunch or reduced stocks from different vegies or you can wait for it to cool and water your vegie garden with the water therefore implementing those nutrients back into the ground...........also my father in law used to swear by drinking the water from boiled potatoes to help cure a cold........I prefer drinking a tea made from Yarrow and Mint combined. Just google the health benefits of Yarrow for a fuller pic.....Lovely visiting with you again and thank you for sharing, I learned something new today........Gods Blessings upon you n yours Always.

Jenn if place your zucchini in a colander for a bit before you flash freeze them it won’t freeze into a big block, also use more trays so you can have a single layer. Maybe I will send you a couple blanching baskets which will take the place of needing to dirty a colander and spooning them out of the pans. Couple of good shimmy shakes and dump the on your sheet pan.

Do y'all eat any kind of greens like collards? Well I planted like maybe 10 plants and being I started from seeds in our home, im a happy momma. Even though its my 1st batch to harvest, it's small and just enough maybe for 1 cooking. I'm so happy that this yr is the 1st time I ever had started from seeds and u should see my plants. All they types of tomatoe plants, the ones I babied from seeds are taller than me or right at my height. I'm 5ft. I just wished my tomatoes hurry up and rippen a bunch at a time so I can do some canning. Is zucchini a plant that does better when it's cooler weather?

Yes we do the same or I just grate it and freeze it raw for bread. You just have to squeeze a lot of the water out but it still works great. Than I just cook zucchini bread in the colder months instead of summer..

Apparently I didnt plant those nor cucumbers. I can't believe I didnt plant cucumbers. Probably dont have time to plant from seeds now. I can't remember what type of cucumbers this is but I seen on Doug and Stacy that they planted and harvesting ones that are very long and kinda shaped like a star after u scoop out the seeds then slice them. Ms. Stacy said the skin is tender so I'm gonna have to try those next yr.

Best way to eat zucchini that has gotten away on you is to half lengthwise, scoop some of the middle out and stuff. We either stuff with a Bolognaise or taco meat or even just a mix of the scooped out zucchini, onions mushrooms etc. top with cheese and bake. Zucchini boats 😋
