Made that trip many times, such a relief when you get past Baltimore and all the NE scam taxes, tolls, high priced gas, etc etc. You get past Richmond, VA and into the south and everything is cheap, convenient and easier.
It was so amazing to live the journey alongside you. Thanks for sharing. I love to be on the road for hours it gives a sense of peace. God bless Emma and millions of hugs to her. It was a very nice video. Thank you so much. Marouane from Morocco
Great video. It reminds of my similar road trips from Michigan to Orlando while I was studying there in the US. Also your other videos truly help me as I'm kind of DIY person. Maintaining vehicles on my own as much as I can. Keep up. 👍
I knew it was one of those hotels once I saw the breakfast (Econo Lodge) and waffle maker. Now that spray had water and silicone in it? I wish have taken those butter pieces they have and put that on instead. Safer! Glad you made it safely. You are brave to travel with a young baby for that trip.
Interestingly, I kept commenting on how much more civilized driving was when I was in the UK/ Europe. 😊 I loved seeing your impressions of the US! I thought you planned and executed that trip quite well! I actually didn't know there were any Lidls here! I shop almost exclusively at Aldi and will be looking out for Lidl now too. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Janise, Kiersten, Kaden Kamden and Kinsey! Thank you very much - we loved our trip to the US :-) We couldn't believe it when we stumbled across a Lidl 😂 We had a great time in Florida and New York was fantastic! Big hugs to you all, Chris 😊
I live in the western U.S., and there are many more miles of roads, so barriers to provent hitting a tree or oncoming traffic are only around towns. It's probably due to the huge number of miles of roadways in the west. I don't know about the eastern United States. Anyhow, cheers!
Emma is a cutie!! I grew up in Pennsylvania and live in Florida now. I always thought it would be strange to drive on the "wrong" side of the road. Apparently you adjusted to it well?
Thanks Andy, the first time I ever drove on the 'wrong' side of the road it was terrifying! (Hire car, Malaga Airport in Spain, nowhere to practice and after 20 metres I was in mad heavy traffic...) Rossella and I have been together for 15 years now, so I'm used to driving on the right when we are in continental Europe. Cheers, Chris 👍
Hi Barnie, we got super-cheap direct flights from Milan to New York, we wanted a hire car for the duration of our stay anyway, and a US road trip was a kind of bucket list trip for us. By avoiding toll roads and with the cheap fuel over there it wasn't a particularly expensive thing to do, and we got to see some random bits of the real USA en-route. Cheers, Chris 👍
It’s easy enough I think. I have the advantage of having an Italian wife so I have been driving on the right several months per year since 2005, so in this respect I was used to driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road. Pretty much all the card there have automatic gearboxes too, so that’s one less thing to worry about. All the drivers we saw were patient and courteous, which at have been pure luck on our part or may be representative of what can be expected (we don’t have any other US driving experience to compare it to) This was a really enjoyable trip and we are very glad we were able to do it together. Cheers, Chris 👍
Thank you for the response! I have allso one little daughter so we take her with us when we go for the trip in the states. Can’t wait for the low gas prices and the BIG hamburgers and stakes! Plus i never seen an American or talk with one before in my life! I live in the Netherlands rotterdam and i never seen one here. So that’s going to be interesting. I only know it from tv and youtubers like you

such a doll😊
Yes it's a lot cheaper than on this side of the pond. Thank you! Chris 👍
@@christopher_barr Road trips are nice, but the US is sorely lacking high speed rails like in Europe.
Thank you for all the tips.Very helpful when we next do the route God Bless all of you.Yr baby really cute & took the journey well.

Cute baby 😍
I found it very annoying that every stop no mention was made where you were, and how long it took to arrive there.
Only 3 weeks in the U.S ?!?! lol wish we had European vacation time hope you liked it in the US
We're you at the econo lodge in Fayetteville? I been there a few times
May I know which website did you use to rent your car?
How many tolls ??
Concerned some of those motels are some that are on Dan Bells ADR channel.
:-)
Can the baby be carried during the drive?
Who here likes Florida 😀
😊
I am making this drive + 3-4 hours next week and then going back a week later. Not looking forward to it.
How come you didn't fly straight Into Florida chris.

How is driving in the US for us europeans?
This is really my dream.
Gas is so cheap there that’s why they drive big v8 suv’s and trucks. And we europeans vw golfs ford focus. Or a prius.

Don’t compare uk 🇬🇧 accidents with usa 🇺🇸, uk is not bigger then Texas, so how u compare
I was comparing deaths per 100k population, which is a metric which can be used for countries of any size.
First tip for flying with a baby......dont
