Nice. Looks better than new. Going into my junior year (1962) in high school I traded a 1955 Bel-Air two door hard top, 6 cylinder for a 1956 Chev Convertible this same color but with a black top. It had what they called at the time the "Power Pack" option, which included a four barrel carb and duel exhaust. I drove it all thru high school and part of college. When I saw this it brought back a lot of great memories.

I still have the 56 150 utility sedan that delivered phone books to our home in Santa Rosa CA. Serviced for 10 years by a local shop and purchased at auction by them...
I found it for sale in 1979 and purchased from the shop..
Still have it..never changed the rear package area..no back seat or window cranks on the quarter glass...paint code on vin tag reads SPEC..for company olive green special order. As aside Oakland cars came with one piece frames because they were lighter and cost less to shop.
Used to race a 57 10:90 car at Sears Point in Northern CA and had several gassers..loved them all!!!

Love the car. Beautiful ! Well done guys!! 56 hard tops were not seen a lot...mosty sedan 2 drs. Don't know the production numbers right of hand.
Had many 55-57's back in the day. Raced a 56 210 in Jr stock in the mid-late 60's
Note" You might do a little research. I can be wrong but don't recall a rear license plate bracket the same color as the body. Most were black as I recall anyway, pretty sure the front brackets were black, maybe because our state required font plates ...here anyway (old memory bank working you know).

My mom drove a 56 identical to that one in 66-67. It was rusted so badly I remember they were coat hangers holding the headlights in place. That’s what Michigan winters do to the cars of the 50s.She liked to mess with the gas station attendants when she would fill it up with fuel not telling them the filler was behind the tail light LOL

Makes me wish I never sold my '56 Bel-air. Mine had the continental kit on the back and was a post model, Matador Red, Ivory White w/ 265 V8, 3-speed on the column.😪

I was wondering why the firewall had (those) braces (90* and 45*). I see the passenger side was for the battery but what was the reason for the other?

On an OEM car the trunk would not be painted as pristine as the out side color.

I know you guys were probably taking it back to original, but my gosh! All that work just to put those awful crappy (throw up green) colors on it. As awful as the color is, however, you did a magnificent job. Well done.

I just have to express my opinion on your project. It is by far my personal favorite of the tri-five chev's. I just love the 56 body style. My only complaint is that you kept that God Awful Puke green color combo. I understand that that was one of Chevy's original paint schemes, but it was the absolute worst color scheme that Chevy ever came out with. And if my memory serves me correctly, that color was never used again after 56.

Are you guys crazy? Working UNDER a car on Jack stands? And in any case why wasn't this work done before the entire painting. That seems like poor scheduling.
