Hi +readGodsword. You have replies turned off but I'll reply here since this may interest everybody. I am doing a pros and cons video soon so stay tuned for that, but in a nutshell the one real annoying con is the water heater. It is useless. I will not maintain a steady temperature for more than 10 seconds. I have to find out if I got a defective unit or what the deal is. On the other hand, it is light and short, super easy to tow. You don't need a hefty truck. And the floor plan makes it look larger than it actually is. Lots of storage. I love it, and yes, I would probably buy again.
You give me the impression of a very good outlook on life. I look forward to following you. I first saw you on the "Wynns" video! Thank You Bob Long Island, NY
Hello Robert I found this video after looking at your other video. I think this video answer my questions. I love your voice and I will be looking at this model more closely. thanks again. Looking forward to following you and your videos. Jeff
Hi Jeff. There are a few differences between the 1706 and the 1801. Main one for me was weight. Also the 1801 is wider and a little taller, and it has a two-door refigerator and o believe a 5 gallon water heater. I did a review after one year. Watch it here. ua-cam.com/video/LqlIrV_eRSo/v-deo.html My only complaint is still the on demand water heater in the 1706. It needs very high water pressure in order to work correctly. Hope you enjoy your Micro Minnie
Picking up my micro minnie in a couple of weeks. I never thought of getting an anti sway controller. not sure i need one but may find out the hard way. The video is very very cool. Keep posting more videos with the camper!
Hey Carlos, let me know how it goes. I really like mine. Don't know how essential the anti-sway controller or weight distribution systems are is but they give me a little more peace of mind, considering my vehicle is only barely adequate for the job.
Hi Robert !! Love your videos - no nonsense - straight talk - no gimmicks !! I had 2 questions... What is your present tow vehicle and which Winnie are your towing these days. I see you had/have a Kia, didn't think that was up to the task, but obviously it is/was? Thanks again... I have a Toyota Sienna, but I think you can only tow 3500 lbs. total. Keep up the great videos... the best to you and yours !!!
Thanks Robert!! And I think we had the same problem with a water heater on our first camper, if I remember, we didn't turn something on right. Do you know what year these came out? Sorry about the comments thing, some people write mean stuff. We are fine with a small camper, looks like this one has some good thought put into the design. Did you install a fan somewhere?
I am enjoying your videos and just started having an interest in RVing. My vehicle is 2015 Kia Sedona with V6 GDI. Its towing capacity is rated at 3500 Lbs. Do you think I should have transmission oil cooler to tow such that weight of your Minnie?
So because of you I opted to get the electric tongue jack, the same weight distribution system and anti sway bar. I'm sure we will be in areas where there is no electric hookup. Is there a manual override to jack it up and down manually? I'm going to do an inspection of mi mini this Saturday. I had added an added hitch for my bicycle rack and a fantastic fan the 19" Tv.
My husband was in the rv business he would mention about all the people that spent alot of time seeing the country with other groups. Now Iam talking. 20 years ago/. Love your voice Robert
Great vid with that radio announcer voice!!! 1706FB has an "on-demand" hot water tank... 1801FB has a 6 gal hot water tank.. How is your rig holding up?? Thanks
Mark S Thank you! The rig is holding up nicely. I upgraded the shower to an Oxygenic and I'm thinking of a fantastic fan... but I still haven't figured out a way to make the water heater maintain a steady temperature.
Robert, what model KIA are you towing the 1706FB with? We are looking at getting the same Winnebago and are wondering what kind of vehicle to get, tow-package or not(??), and how many cylinders. Should a vehicle have a tow package to haul the FB?
I have a 2004 Sorento V6 rear wheel drive which came with the tow hitch receiver. I got the brake controller and weight distribution sway control hitch which helps a lot. It has performed admirably so far. Only had trouble once climbing a long high grade between Chattanooga and Nashville, in which it overheated a bit.
Thank you! That helps a lot as we make our own decisions on vehicle and if the 1706FB is the RV for us. Did you also see my question on your "one-year later" review? ...the one about whether the later model Minnies (2016 and 2017) had fixed the water heater issue you had?
Perhaps I missed it elsewhere, but wondering if you had any success with that water heater? We're interested in this trailer, but no hot water is a deal breaker. Thanks for your wonderful videos!
It is a shame they don't let you test those things when you buy the RV. According to the dealer and the manufacturer the water heater is working within factory specs. They even blamed it on the temperature of city water here in Florida. Apparently when you open the cold water to get a comfortable temperature, it causes that less water goes through the heater making it shut down. So to make a long story short, no, the heater doesn't work. It's either scorching hot water or cold water.
Hello Robert, could you answer a few questions? In this vid you are towing the 2 axle micro Minnie. Can you tell me what vehicle you using to tow with? Engine size? Have you towed over any steep grades. My wife and I really like the micro Minnie's but are trying to decide if our truck can tow easily. Thank you for your videos.
I tow with a 2004 Kia Sorento EX, rear wheel drive 3.5L V6. I have gone up some steep grades like Monteagle Mountain in Tennessee and from Phoenix to Flagstaff in Arizona, on those two occasions I had to slow down significant to avoid overheating. When Old Kia finally dies I plan to get a half ton truck. It would do the job more easily.
Hola amigo! FELICIDADES por su canal! I loved watching your vídeos, and now you have your own RV! Congrats! May I suggest a name? «LA CUCARACHA», it certainly looks a bit like a cockroach, but in spanish it sounds more friendly :) Saludos desde Cataluña!
patatacatalana Saludos! Solamente si le pongo una corneta de esas que toca la canción. Mi esposa me habia sugerito la pulga, o pulguita, que es parecido. Saludos desde la Florida.
I'm looking at the same trailer. I have a light weight pickup with a 3500 lb tow rating. I am concerned that i will not have the power to pull the winne 1706FB. It has a 2980 Lb. Dry weight. How is your Kia Sorento hauling? Is it straining on any hills and are you able to tow it at 70 mph +? I'm also wondering how your Have you found a solution to the water heater issue? I hope you're still having a great time with this trailer!
Mahon Motley Hi. The Kia is barely adequate, but it does an admirable job in my opinion. I have an older V6 model. I have not had to climb any serious hills (I live in South Florida) so I don't know. I suppose it will manage. The most hills I have encountered are the rolling hills of the Florida panhandle and Georgia. I don't plan on crossing the Rockies any time soon... and about the speed, forget about driving at 70 mph for any extended period of time. You will go through a tank of gas in no time and you might overheat the engine. I have found my sweet spot to be between 60 and 65. On flat terrain you can even keep the overdrive off. About the water heater, I have finally decided to take a day off from work and take it to my closest dealer, which is 200 miles away and doesn't work on weekends. I will upload a video of that later. But I still love my little trailer after 9 months with it, especially now with the warm weather. I keep doing minor upgrades. See you on the road !
kswaiz The Micro Minnie weighs 2980lbs dry. I'm towing with a 2004 Kia Sorento capable of towing 3500lbs, which means I can't load the trailer too much, especially with water which has the most weight, but it is a good compromise.
Great trailer, give a tour ! If you want to see some beautiful country come to California and see Yosemite park ! 😊 How much did you pay for you're trailer ???
Robert, I've enjoyed your videos. We are considering a 1706FB. You videos have been helpful in making a decision. Tell me about your tow vehicle. What size engine does it have and what is its tow rating? Thanks!
+Mark Hubbs Thanks! My 2004 Kia Sorento has a 3.5 V6, and can tow 3500 lbs, so as you can see there not a whole lot of power to spare. I haven't had any problems driving under 65 on relatively flat terrain, and it has even handled well panic braking in a couple of near misses.
Robert thanks for the great videos. You have sold me on the 1706FB...it is what it is. I am going to get one before year's end What kind of gas mileage have you gotten towing it with your Sorrento?
+Bob Howell Hey, thanks! I get about 10 miles per gallon. By the way, I have an update. I was able to use my water heater properly for the first time last weekend. I had exceptionally good water pressure, and I removed my water pressure regulator, and my water filter, and it worked great. First long shower in Minitini after over a year. Happy trails and see you on the road!
thanks for the response. Awesome, really glad to hear you got your hot water heater working. Happy for you as well as myself, that was the only one of your " dislikes" that gave me genuine pause for concern. Going to get one before years end. Who knows, maybe our paths will cross. Happy trails
4:03 where can i get that mcexpresso machine hahaha... really liking these videos.. i'm about 30 days from potentially getting my micro mini .. unless there's a better option you WISH you woulda' got?
TravelingRobert good tip to know. Yeah i'm excited to do this. I'm spending 850/month in rent & electricity here in Dallas. I'd need to be around here for a little bit, until my advertising agency takes off, and can replace the j.o.b. You work from the RV?
+Jason Waite I'm not working from the RV yet, but over the two years I've had it I have been trying to make it comfortable enough so the two of us can work from it. That dinette will probably be the next thing to go.
Hi Robert, I am looking to get the same trailer you got... So what do you think of the trailer so far ? Have you had any problems with it ? Love your posts. Scott
Hi Scott, so far so good. I've only had it for 3 weeks, and only used it for two trips so you could say that I haven't really broken it in. As I have it longer I have been able to start nitpicking and that is something I advise you do. Some of the fit and finish is not quite perfect. For example in one of the cabinets the laminate finish is raised a little bit, the caulking in the bathroom is a little sloppy, a screw was missing from one on the skylights, and the table is a little wobbly. Looks like they put it together in a hurry. Other than that pretty much everything works well, it is easy to pull, and for the size it feels bigger than it is inside, at least to me. Oh, another gripe, the water heater is crap. It is impossible to maintain a steady temperature, no matter how much I've tried. Let me know how it goes for you. Robert
Traveling Robert, We are in the Market for our first travel trailer and the Micro Minnie is on the list. Do you ever think....."I wish I had a V-8" or do you think the Minnie is light enough for the V-6?
Three years and I'm watching your first voyage! Very cool, I'd been excited too! Hope I get to see your next upgrade! :)
Awesome, love it, but I knew I would... Thanks man.
Thank you for your post..I love to see other areas of the US. thank you!
Fun to go back and see this video after watching a bunch of recent vids
Maybe next winter you can take mini tini one back down to the keys. Just to celebrate how far this channel has come.
Track down Ol Kia to pull it with. Maybe the new owner would let you borrow it for the weekend.

Fascinating that it was all so well preserved. This will be a must see for me. A great RV spot and a history tale!
Yes it was a very nice park. Thank you!
Minnie Winnie looks great Rob, you and your family are gonna love it.
utubesuckcox Thank you. Looking forward to a long road trip.
We are in the process of possibly buying a camper and I have been enjoying so much your videos! thanks for putting these together!
I think we'd watch these even if we weren't interested in getting a camper - the humor, presence, images, all so great and fun to watch.
Thank you so much
Nice video. The Gray Goose, or Marlin comes to mind when I look at your rig. Looking forward to your beach video!
I like Gray Goose. Cheers!
What is the make and model of your tow vehicle? Looks like a KIA but I'm not sure. What size engine do you have? Thank you,
Congratulations again Robert! You're going to have some great trips with your new RV. Can't wait for more videos.
JustPeg Thank you!
Congratulations for your new travel trailer. :)
Just found your vids. Very pleasurable. You have a charsmic character that's rare. Smiles. Nice R V!
+matt hibbard Thank you!
I love how the RV trailer can fit your 2004 kia sorento
As always great video
I love the music you use. Also watching your older videos is giving me a lot of good ideas for my road trip next year
Marcus Marchitto Thank you! The music is all mine.
I like it when you show what you are talking about rather than just seeing you in front of the camera
+Donald Young Thanks! Glad you liked it
I love your videos. You have an awesome voice and you seem so friendly. Thank you for sharing.
Much love from Central California, City of Tulare.

Swancapo Yes me too... hopefully coming soon.
you have an amazing voice! do you professionally do voice overs? wow!
Lol thinking the same...I feel like I'm listening to the "most interesting man in the world" -stay thirsty, my friends. 😂
Right! I imagine his voice over for other type of videos/shows (i.e., nature tv shows).
Just bought the Minnie Winnie this past weekend! :)

Ha! The same anti-sway and weight distribution hitch that I have. I've got a 2106FBS though.

what kind vehicle do you use to pull your minnie?
Cool Video
Great Caravan buddy
Blk-opps-sniper Thank you!
Dear Robert, We are thinking about one of these campers. Would you buy it again? What do you hate about it, what do you love about it? Thanks.
Robert what type of camera do you use for your videos?
Enjoyed your review.
Robert Papps Thanks!
Wondering about that Expresso maker .. where can I find one. Just right size for my kitchen. And am very much enjoying your videos. Thank you.
Nice video.

The jack works with the battery so you should have no problem.

How about calling it Screamy Weeney in tribute to the classic Lampoons Vacation film where one of the roller coasters is called Screamy Meemy ?
What is your SUV? Do you have any trouble towing the trailer with it? What kind of mileage do you get towing it?
I've been to that post office. I was riding my motorcycle.

What are you towing the trailer with, it's a v8 SUV??
V6, 2004 Kia Sorento
Nice camper and have fun! Is that a AC & Heat unit on the roof?
***** The AC is on the roof. Heat is actually on the side. Taking it out this weekend again. Very excited.
Congrats! You are going to have a blast! How much does the trailer weigh? What are you towing it with?
kswaiz The Micro Minnie weighs 2980lbs dry. I'm towing with a 2004 Kia Sorento capable of towing 3500lbs, which means I can't load the trailer too much, especially with water which has the most weight, but it is a good compromise.

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
your videos are extra cool. BTW what have you found about the change in gas milage pulling the micro?
Gas mileage is almost half. I haven't done any measurements but I'd say about 15 miles per gallon.
Well, I am late to the table but the name should be . . . Road Nomad, what else?
Robert, I've enjoyed your videos. We are considering a 1706FB. You videos have been helpful in making a decision. Tell me about your tow vehicle. What size engine does it have and what is its tow rating? Thanks!

+TravelingRobert Robert, I forgot to mention, what brand weight distribution hitch do you use on the Micro? Thanks!
+Mark Hubbs Hi again. I have an EAZ-LIFT. ua-cam.com/video/_bwJ-_q0oOg/v-deo.html

Cool video. Does that Kia pull that trailer ok? Do you have to keep it out of overdrive?
I usually leave the overdrive on, I'm unless I'm going up and down hills.
"Minnie's House"
Great voice!!! :) What accent?
Glad you like it. I was born in Cuba
Yup... I could listen to Robert's videos all day! LOL
What kind of SUV do you use to pull your RV?
It is a barely adequate 2004 Kia Sorento EX RWD, 3.5L V6
Nice Camper and all so a nice place in florida
Name for your Camper : Campywagon
Jonard Shetima Puno Campywagon has a nice ring to it. We'll announce the name on the video of the next trip we take withit.

would a 4 cylinder AWD Honda CRV be able to tow this?
It is highly unlikely. The CRV apparently only has a 1500 pound tow capacity.

Just a thought on a name. Nomad-er.
realredrebel Nice.
Traveling Robert, We are in the Market for our first travel trailer and the Micro Minnie is on the list. Do you ever think....."I wish I had a V-8" or do you think the Minnie is light enough for the V-6?
To be honest the V6 is barely adequate. I would love to have a more powerful tow vehicle, especially in hilly terrain.
Thank you you for the quick reply. My truck is has a V-6 as well. Gives me something to think about.
Call it mini-tini.
