Hey there! I got some new Atom Pulse Lite Wheels, which are supposed to be the BEST for rough surface skating. I'm trying them out for the first time in this video.

Glad you are focusing on enjoying yourself and trying some new things!! Kudos! I loved the part about you and your sister’s conversation too. 💜 You are very hard on yourself. When I saw your scissors I actually thought they were quite good for starting out! Keep at it. You are IMPROVING and I’m very excited for you! 🛼

Thank you so much! I think about you when I go out to skate. I love your positive attitude and the way you take everything in stride. I had to laugh in your latest video, when you said you were "questioning your life choices!" I thought, she's been watching Dirty Deborah Harry! 😂 I look forward to the day when I can try new things like you do. You are such an inspiration for me in so many ways. I hope the weather doesn't impead your ability to keep skating. I really look forward to your videos! 🥰💖🛼🛼

Nice looking skates, just take your time 😊

Just take your time, skate when you can and where you are most comfortable. You can always advance to rougher surfaces when you are more comfortable on the smoother services. You're doing fine just keep at it. You did spend all that money on the skates and supplies so just get out there whenever possible. Keep up the good work!

Thank you! I am definitely going to keep trying. I really enjoyed myself that day. And left there feeling so happy and proud of myself. And that's what it's all about. To feel good, have fun and be happy. And I'm looking forward to going back and doing it again! 🥰💖🛼🛼

Stick in there. I am 66 and have been skating for 2 months. My beginning was a mess. I found a local fire station with great concrete and away I went. I was really scared at times and had to remind myself to slow down and go slow and at my own pace. Just showing up is huge! You dont have to do anything. Turn the camera off and do you.

Thank you! And that is so awesome that you are skating! I think it's so great to see a more mature group of people who are skating. It's such an inspiration! Thank you for sharing that! 🥰

Kudos to u for raking it up again!
    Im 58 n returning aftet 30 years!
Like you, it does feel like everything i knew has gone! It really is like starting all over again but im loving it. Ive been travelling around all the different roller rinks within a 2 hour distance which has just been soo much fun, even stayed over in japanese style capsule accommodation (Dormotories) instead of expensive hotels to keep the costs down. Ive had soo much fun n met some lovely youngsters!
I would really like to enjoy my later years either starting a local roller club or travelling around the world to skate in all different countries.
I just think that would be soo cool.
Im jus taking my time trying to b as safe as i can be n to be fair, i was doing great, no falls at all in 2 months, until.. lol i took a fall this week! Omg my wheels just went right out from under me. I went down so hard, landed so hard i felt it in my head even though i didnt actually hit my head and it wouldnt be so bad, but it was the 1 time i didnt pad up as i was practising at home. Luckily by some miracle, i was able to turm myself a bit so just missed landing on my tailbone but still landed hard on my elbows n bum, pulled all my back n waist muscles too trying to turn to avoid the tailbone landing. Literally couldnt walk the last 3 days for the bum n back pain without a seriously severe painful waddle! Been in bed with hot water bottles on back n bum for days!
Still very very sore bum n 3 days later still have a hell of a headache behind my eyes from the jolt.
Ive now ordered bum pad shorts, dont really care what ill look like in them so will wear them everytime from now on with my helmet n all the other pads, as the butt slam is really really not nice. The pain is sooooo real. I want to enjoy skating but i want to minimize potential injuries as much as i can too as it just takes one slight of the wheels an it can be all over for weeks whilst you recover and i think its longer to recover if you're older.
    Be safe ppl!
Pad up n be safe whilst u enjoy skating.
Prevention is soooo much better than cure!
    'Safety is sexy'.

That's awesome that you're able to go to all those places! It's been really difficult for me to find a decent place to skate. Fortunately I have just recently found one. Took me over 5 months! But because all the places I had been skating at were just small, narrow sidewalks, I never really got to actually skate. The new place I've found is an asphalt beach access road. So luckily there's not really any traffic on it, with the exception of a couple of scooters or a car once in awhile. But I've been lucky that most of the time there weren't any. But because this is the first time I've really been able to skate on a large open space, it's like starting at the beginning again. I've only just found it, so I've only been a few times. But I love it! And I know I may look silly with all my gear and my padded pants. But I don't care! I want to do whatever I can to minimize injuries if I fall. It's scary when you hit a rock or something that you didn't see, and almost fall. My heart starts racing and I get really nervous. I've watched videos that teach you how to fall. And they say to practice falling so you can be more prepared. But im too scared to practice it! I'm scared ill hurt myself just practicing. Well I hope you are starting to heal and feel better. And I hope you'll stick around and share your skating journey with me! I'd love to hear how things are going and about your progress. All the best to you! 🥰🛼🛼
